Doug was awesome! We visited several mattress stores and hated it so much because of how «sales-​person-​y» they were (following you around like vultures and even lying, on occasion, super lame)
Doug was knowledgeable, and didn’t try to upsell us – we were even looking at a bed more expensive than he recommended for us, but he advised us for the lower cost mattress because of our own needs and how long we were going to be staying in Grand Rapids.
The pricing was pretty good, we got in for the Fourth of July special at $ 200 off and tax free, so be on the lookout for sale specials.
Unfortunately we weren’t able to pull through with the transaction on our end due to some unforeseen financial circumstances that bombed us, but even though we were getting a refund Doug was very kind and professional and didn’t even ask us for a reason! And he still had a sense of humor about it.
We’re sorry we couldn’t pull through, but we highly recommend for any and all who are looking for a good mattress with no pressure added! Happy sleeping! :)

On the anniversary of our house fire, I would like to post a glowing review for The Mattress Store.
Doug and his family went over and beyond on customer service and satisfaction. All the other reviews are spot on for low pressure sales and good educational information about mattresses, and finding the right one for each individual person.
We needed 5 mattresses after our fire. Exceptional services are as follows:
1. Even though insurance was paying for our mattresses, Doug did not try to sell us expensive mattresses that did not suit our needs.
2. Doug ordered us the next level up on two single mattresses because the better mattress was the same price in the single size/​version.
3. The trundle mattress was too thick and the drawer would not close, so Doug picked it back up and exchanged it for us no delivery charges.
4. After making a fourth trip to our house to deliver the queen mattress and boxspring, I found out that I needed a thin version of the boxspring to see my headboard. So again, they made a 6^th free trip to my house with a thinner box spring and took the big one away.
All the while Doug and his family were extremely pleasant to work with and made the fire situation a little more tolerable.
I tell everybody to go there!

Great value, great service, great product. Even my wife liked everything and that doesn’t happen. Awesome! Only place I’ll use for bedding needs again. Even delivered himself on a non delivery day. Super cool.

Started Art Van, what a joke. High pressure sales and being talked down to. Then they tried the tag team hard close. Next went to the Mattress Store. No pressure, much better prices and family owned. It was a quick and painless buying experience. Highly recommend.

Awesome personal service. Family owned and local. These folks care about their customers. Highly recommend. Service, quality, great prices. Integrity!
