3.5 stars. Seriously? If I could give it a full six I would do it gladly. Quite simply, this is some of the best beer that I’ve had in a long time. The NMO IPA was exceptional. Citrusy and piney with a fresh hop finish. All of their Belgian inspired beers were outstanding, with the Flemish Red really standing out. A wonderful Belgian sour style! Everything we had was great and Chris was fantastic, helpful when I wasn’t sure what I wanted without being pushy and always quick with a recommendation. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

A Sunday AM stop here was better than expected! Had the popular Empanadas and Irish Nachos on the Brunch menu. For the Irish Nachos I ordered an additional sunny-​side up egg along with potatoes, peppers, onions and beer cheese… it was so good! In addition to the brunch menu the full menu also
drink a $ 4 Bloody Mary Bar (at this price… not bottomless) and one of their own craft brewed beers. For the Bloody I went with a bacon-​infused Vodka. For the holiday weekend was not too busy and the service was very good.

Drinks, service and ambience were amazing! Ask for Marcie at the bar she is very sweet and helpful

Great beer, even better company. I was so impressed with the friendliness of our bar keep, Rob as well as Jason Ley (maybe a manager there?) Super nice group of people and gave us so many recommendations of the area. If you want to feel like a local, go there!!! You will not be disappointed.

Great place I wish I had more time at. Wr stopped for one last beer. The bartender was extremely friendly and helpful and funny. I enjoyed a silver foam and had to try the beeramisu. It was huge amazing decadent and wonderful and a steal at dix dollars. Two of us couldn’t finish it. Great place and a must stop.

I enjoyed this place as a good spot to get a beer or two and a good dinner.
It’s in a nice location close to everything. We walked in (two of us) and didn’t have to wait one second, which is awesome on a Saturday evening. With The Beatles playing faintly over the loud speaker, we grabbed a high-​top table and enjoyed the people watching.
It was the day before Mother’s Day, so they had specials. One was chicken stuffed with pork, served with potatoes and brussel sprouts. It was a good meal, filling to the point where I ate plenty but didn’t feel overly sick from finishing. Those are the best meals, really. I wish there was a little more pork inside the chicken, but it was still good.
They have beers and cocktails available. The two beers I’d recommend are the Fishladder IPA and the Rosalynn Bliss Blonde — a subtle apricot and tea flavors compliment this classic blonde ale. It won a Gold Medal at the World Beer Championship, if that’s any consolation. A great spring or summertime brew with its flavor.
The only thing I would complain about, if anything, was the service. The waitress kind of disappeared a couple times, notably when the food came out and I needed salt and pepper. Otherwise, this is just another in a line of great Grand Rapids eating and drinking destinations.

Liked the beer… flight is a must. But staff was mean and very unwelcoming. Too bad… we really wanted to stay and enjoy the beer. But when the people are mean… it’s time to go… Boo

The beer is just alright but the food is amazing, it’s quite a big place with a full restaurant and there is alot of people there so the vibe is quite huge. It’s ok and not that pricey at all and the service is great and very helpful.

Food/​Drinks: If you are with a group of friends and want to grab a bite, I would suggest a few options on the menu that they will be able to make vegetarian. First, off the fried pickles are a must and our waitress suggested it as one of the more popular appetizer options available. Next, I had a chance to get the macaroni and cheese which you have the option to make vegetarian. I was very impressed and it was very flavorful. They have a few different hot sauce options that you can ask for and they will bring them to you. Unfortunately, there are not many options that are vegetarian.
Atmosphere: Very relaxed atmosphere with a friendly vibe from anyone around. Had a change to go on a Friday afternoon and it wasn’t very busy.
Service: Amazing service with a very friendly waitress. Gave us several great beers to choose from and brought samples out without us asking to make sure we were getting one we would be happy with.
Overall: Not a lot of vegetarian options, but great service and a friendly atmosphere.

There are so many great pub/​brewery choices in Grand Rapids, skip this one. I have had drinks and light food here 5 times and full meals twice and not liked a single beer of their’s that I’ve tried. Their beers taste watered down they are so flavorless. Their cocktails are average but pretty pricey for the area. The ambience is really the only thing this place has going for it– beautiful building with lots of space and always clean and comfortable.
I visited for brunch this weekend and it was a joke. They were out of milk for coffee, out of things at the Bloody Mary bar and since my eggs Benedict had zero hollandaise, I guess they were out of that too (and this was before 11 AM, I pity those who showed up after noon).

This place was such a disappointment. Tried the flight and there wasn’t a single one that was a standout. Also they won’t let you mix and match different beers you have to do their fixed flight. The service was horrible too. The bartender was of no help whatsoever. She even spilled half of the flight when she plopped it down in front of us. Not to mention one of them was already not even half way filled. Just bad service and below average beer. The only reason for 2 stars and not one is because the location is next to some other quality places so worth stepping inside to complete the beer tour.

I’ve been to GRBC a few times over the year and always had a good experience. The food is pretty good and the beer list is usually pretty large.
Most recently, I went on a Saturday for brunch. The have their brunch menu and Bloody Mary bar ($ 4) from 11am-​3pm on Saturdays and Sundays. I had the Bloody Mary Burger, and it was great, especially with a hangover. My friends had the bbq pork eggs benedict and really liked it and would order it again.
I’ve been there for drinks when they’ve had a live band playing, which was pretty cool. When you walk in, there’s the bar and a front seating area, but they also have a large area around the other side of the bar where you can sit and eat and drink.
This is a great place to grab beers with friends, have dinner, or do brunch. It’s hard to compete with all of the great breweries in Grand Rapids, and their beer isn’t phenomenal, but it’s not bad.

I come for the Geeks Who Drink. Other than going here for that event, GRBC isn’t a place I think of when going out at night. I feel like they have come along way since opening this location, I just don’t think it is a home run yet!
The menu gets better with each change and the beer is slowly getting better to. I personally like other BarFly businesses better than GRBC, they are just more my style and liking.
I haven’t had a bad experience here, except one time I came in for happy hour and assumed I was getting the happy hour drink price. Little did I know, until when the bill came, that I was told happy hour doesn’t count when there is an event going on at the Van Andel Arena. Okay, I get it. But as the customer that is a completely different price on the bill than what is expected. If this is a rule you guys stick to then it should be posted on the menu or somewhere in plain site to warn the customer. When I mentioned something to the effect that it should be listed somewhere, she blew me off. If who I was with, wasn’t in a hurry I would have asked to speak to a manager. That just isn’t good customer service.
Other than that, keep up the trial and errors and you guys are sure to hit that home run soon!

It’s a cool place in a cool convenient location. They have a lot of seats which is good, and will even text you when a table is ready.
The beers are so-​so. Not as good as founders, Perrin, or vivant– but occasionally they do have some good stuff.
The food is where I have my biggest doubts. I have been here a handful of times and have never been wowed. Usually what I order is average, but tonight it was sub par. We ordered the chicken curry wrap– it not only wasn’t tasty, it was terrible. Of our table 2 people ordered it and 1 sent it back after one bite. I kept eating, thinking the flavor would get better. Alas, it did not. The fries that came on the side were good though.
We also had the red pepper hummus with vegetables which was average.
Service was also just ok– hostess was kind of «un-​interested» and waitress was ok. They did have trivia but it still wasn’t busy enough for the wait that accompanied each order.

Very good service and really friendly. Fried pickles were good. I had a P, B,&J burger and I recommend it. If you read what’s on it you won’t want one. But if you try it you’ll write a review on it. Lol. Really good beer menu. Lots of wine avail too. Really good place to visit while in GR and I will come back here.

This is one the best breweries I have ever been to in my life. This wasn’t even on our list of places to go to when we were in Grand Rapids last weekend but I am SO HAPPY we ended up stopping in. Actually, we loved it so much that we went back the next day also!
We tried literally every beer on the menu. The Rosalynn Bliss Blonde (the mango one) is the stuff dreams are made of. I will think about that beer for a long time to come. It is delicious and refreshing. There were several others that were really amazing as well — specifically the Manjito and the Roasted Rapids. The Roasted Rapids is one of the best coffee beers I have ever had. Super flavorful but not overpowering. The Manjito tasted like a SoCo and lime shot and brought me back to my college days. I live in Chicago and drink a lot of beer, but this place has some of the most special and delicious beers I have ever had. I almost cried when they told us they don’t distribute (something to do with the liquor laws in MI — since they sell liquor, they can’t distribute the beer).
Aside from the beers, each of the servers we had were SUPER friendly. Maybe it’s just Michigan, but basically every server we had anywhere was actually really awesome.
Anyway, if this place isn’t on your list of breweries to visit when in GR, ADD IT NOW!!! You won’t be sorry.

I initially came to GR Brewing Co for a beer tasting tour. The servers were all very nice and helpful when selecting tasters! Typically, I drink really dark beers like Guinness, but I tried the Rosalynn Bliss blonde and the Fishladder (their most bitter beer IBU 85!) I loved the Rosalynn– it was a very easy beer to drink, light, refreshing, and fruity! I could drink this beer all day! The fishladder was also really good, but not for the faint of heart. It’s a VERY bitter IPA. I liked this one also, but could only drink 1 in a sitting!
The next day, we decided to come back to GR Brewing Co to try their food. Got a seat right away even though they were crowded from the hockey game next door. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the poutine and small mac & cheese. The poutine was delicious! Hand-​cut French fries smothered in a brown gravy and topped with yellow cheese curds! It was so good that I still think about it!!! :) The mac & cheese was also amazing! The pasta was cooked perfectly and covered with a fondue-​like garlic cream cheese sauce, bacon, and blue cheese crumbles! I loved the mac & cheese, but my husband thought that it needed to be cheesier.
My only complaint about GR Brewing are the portion sizes. When I think of bar food – I think of large, sharable appetizers. However, I felt like the food that we ordered, for the price, should have been larger portion sizes!

The food and beer here are pretty good. The atmosphere is fun and it is a great choice for a drink and/​or snack before or after an event at VanAndel. It can get crowded, but they have a great system to handle waits (they send a text) and seem to move quickly through the list. The servers are all knowledgeable about the beer, helpful with suggestions, and usually willing to accomodate special requests.
Also notable: all of the beer is organic.

Tried this place out on a late Saturday afternoon and had a great experience! To start, we had the poutine (not the authentic stuff, but still great!) and smoked trout dip.
For our entrees, my husband had the pulled pork sandwich, and I had the B.A.T. grilled cheese – TOO good! I was absolutely stuffed by this point, but I somehow managed to squeeze in the lemon crème brûlée. (I’m not a big crème brûlée fan, so the fact that I loved it speaks volumes!) We left stuffed AND had leftovers.
My only word of advice is to go around the time we did (about 4:30) because it started to get REALLY busy around 5 or so, and I imagine you’d be waiting a while.
All in all, no qualms here. I thoroughly enjoyed myself!
