History

Established in 2010.

I started painting in 2010 when I lost what I thought was the love of my life. Things did not work out after 6 years of being together, and to cope with the loneliness I began painting. It started with ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, MI. I would see how people would react to the work, and I thought that I might try to get in on the fun. It started something that I can not explain and I have never stopped building an obsession with art.

Joseph DeCommer lives and works in Grand Rapids, MI.

Having never picked up a paintbrush before 2010, Joseph took to painting, as he would put it, like he had to. His style has been coming into its own over the past 5 years and his themes are developing into personal ones of love and loss.
