Café Aromas was opened in the newly remodeled «Grand Rapids Savings Bank Rumsey Building. Located approximately 1.2 miles from downtown Grand Rapids. Beautifully remodeled with «Frank Lloyd Wright transoms and amazing brick work. Providing a friendly atmosphere with a Latin flavor.

excellent coffee. pleasant environment. decent service. fantastic sandwiches. a good selection of soups. i had the cuban panini. it was exceptional and tasted surprisingly authentic for being on french bread. definitely a good place to grab lunch or just chill for coffee. im currently writing this while drinking my coffee and there’s a group of about 12 women trying to rearrange the entire dining area to fit them. that’s not really relevant to my review i just wanted to mention it.

It wasn’t the greatest coffee I had but I would give them another chance.
I got a simple mocha latte but it all ended up drying at the bottom even after stirring to liking.
I would for sure be open to try them again though. The environment is appealing and it was a nice place to just sit and relax for a bit. I am still hoping my drink is more up to par. If you are in the area I would give them a chance but be aware of what may happen.

It’s a nice spot off the beaten path for coffee. The décor is great and it’s a nice change from the normal.
The reason for my 3 star is that I went there for breakfast. I was under the impression that it was a breakfast café with a selection of coffee. It isn’t. It’s a coffee house that has muffins and a few microwave sandwiches which were decent for what they were. It’s important to know that this is NOT a place for pancakes and eggs. It’s just a nice new spin on a coffee joint. Coffee was average.
I got a few things to eat and 3 drinks. Was $ 18 and I used a Unilocal voucher saving me $ 5. That is a very good deal.

Took a group of our dancers here on day one of a 2-​day workshop and was completely surprised and pleased! Driving through the neighborhood which is a little rough looking, I wouldn’t have thought to stop but Unilocal convinced me otherwise, as did the outward appearance of the building itself. Clean, great menu and wonderful customer service. AND… for an electronic dance music fan such as myself, I was ecstatic to eat my breakfast with the familiar beat of EDM in the background :)

Well, I’m back and the 3rd time is the charm. For those who stay close to downtown you are missing out. Once aging another great lunch. Great prices, great food, great place & great people behind the counter. I know where my lunch spot is for now on.

Wonderful! The coffee was excellent. Their bread is fresh made, and all of their other ingredients were very fresh as well. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my lunch there, and would definitely return next time I am in the area. I was immensely impressed.

Having worked near here, I used to utilize this comfy little coffee shop to meet friends. I always enjoy their paninis for lunch. It’s a beautiful space although it’s in an unusual location. Find it relaxing with good Wifi and a pleasant staff as well as free parking. Also inexpensive…

Talk about a diamond in the rough. If you can get past the neighborhood, and I can because I work nearby, it is definitely worth it. This area has a serious lack of anywhere to eat that is worth eating at. The coffee isn’t the best, but the sandwiches are super yummy. Especially the bread which is fresh and very flavorful. I am mostly pissed that I worked within a mile of here for six years and never knew it existed. The staff is really friendly and pleasant which imo goes a very long way. Also not expensive, most places like this are overpriced for lesser quality. I was most impressed with my first experience there and look forward to the many lunches I will have there in the future.

Having never been here before, I was surprised to find this little gem in the middle of the (mostly) industrial area of southwest GR. The coffee’s not the best I’ve ever had, but it’s also far from the worst. The staff are very friendly.
There is a variety of breakfast and lunch options, including paninis, wraps, and salads. They also have a comfy couch and several different seating options, which most cafés around here lack. Also, free wifi! That’s always a plus.
