History
Established in 1923.
Built for the residents of Grand Junction by local publishing giant Walter Walker in 1923, the Avalon Theatre was and still is one of Western Colorado’s largest performing arts halls. It is located in the Downtown Shopping Park at 645 Main Street.

Business Owner
Theron LaFountain currently serves as the General Manager, at Two Rivers Convention Center /Avalon Theatre. He feels «he has always just been in the right place at the right time.» After studying marketing and organizational behavior at Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, Theron went on to work for the March of Dimes in Minneapolis. Having worked for such a great cause Theron’s career lead him to the private sector where he served as Director of Sales for «News Media Corporation» in Colorado. Two short years later, Theron moved on to Youngblut Media where he became the Director of Marketing. In 2006 Theron moved from Colorado to Las Vegas to take over as Director of Marketing for RAFI, one of the most reputable Architecture Firms in Nevada. In his evenings, Theron has been seen in many theatrical productions. Some of his credits include The Crucible, Brigadoon, Mouse Trap, Guys and Dolls, Annie and Chapter Two. Theron has founded a community theatre, published a ma
