History

Established in 2014.

We recently started Bark’s Play and Stay but have been involved in the animal community here in Grand Junction since 2004. We have spent countless hours loving your animals and animals at local shelters long before Bark’s Play and Stay was born. Animals have always been our passion and we are excited to take this next step! Our promise to you is that your dog will be happy to come see us each and every time you bring them!

From working at other boarding/​daycare facilities to volunteering countless hours at local shelters, she has a love and passion for animals that is unmatched! Barks play and stay is amazing! My friends and I were in town for a weekend of biking and they picked up our pups so we could get an early start to beat the heat. I never had to worry because I knew they were getting lots of love and play time during the day.

I love this daycare for my dog! The people here are so sweet and friendly to me and my dog. I trust having my dog here and knowing that they are safe and being watched. They post pictures on Instagram and Facebook, and sometimes I see my dog playing throughout the day! I have also had my dog boarded for a few nights at a time, and the staff is also so friendly in letting me know how my dog is doing and even texting me a picture! I highly recommend taking your dog here if you are in need of a doggy daycare in Grand Junction!

I cannot thank Bark’s Play and Stay enough for the care that they took in getting Daisy to and from day-​care and also providing her with a fun day full of swimming and friends! She clearly had a BLAST and I am so thankful for them all!!! I had a stress free day of enjoying Palisades while my little girl had a great day at day camp!

I absolutely know my little high energy dog Diego is in good hands when I’m gone. That peace of mind makes trips even better! He has plenty of kennel space and a great outside area to play in with the other dogs. I’m so happy to see him and its wonderful that he comes home clean, happy and worn out. Bark’s Play and Stay is the only place I bring my 3 dogs! If we are flying somewhere or need to take a quick trip to Denver, Danielle always welcomes our dogs even if it’s kind of last minute. It is a game changer for us to be dog free for a few days, even a week.
The dogs love staying here. They don’t even want to say good-​bye when we check them in, they just want to start having fun with the other dogs! When we pick them up the dogs are in great moods, clean, and even better behaved. I swear my youngest Rottweiler picks up on their training methods. She is becoming a better dog because of Bark’s Play and Stay. Thanks guys for the great service! We can’t wait to bring the dogs back for another great stay.

My wife and I took a long weekend trip to Denver and needed to have our dog boarded. We live in Rifle so the drive out to Grand Junction is about an hour but we are so glad that we chose Barks to take care of our little fur baby. They were polite and eased all of our worries about boarding our pooch since he had never been away from us for more than a day. They kept us updated and sent us pictures upon request. When I came to pick up our fuzz ball he was clean and happy, he slept the whole ride home and even more once we arrived. I will deffinately be coming back should we need boarding services again, be it for 5 days or just a day of daycare. Thank you guys so much for treating our little pup so well and sending him home happy!

We call at the last minute having never used this dog boarding service, and needed to leave town the same day. The had an opening and called us back quickly. Friendly no hassle staff, dogs came home tired, happy, and clean!

Amazing service! Our Riley is an 8 year old rescue dog. He is very scared of unfamiliar places. However, he found friends of all sorts at Bark’s. We were so worried to leave him alone, but the team took him in with loving arms. He came home happy and looking great after getting an extremely thorough bath and brushing. He smelled good for a couple weeks! We never get him so clean.

it had been quite a few years since we had a dog, so unexpectedly deciding to leave our 14-​week old puppy with an «unknown» kennel so we could take some family rides while visiting Fruita was a leap of faith… especially for the kids!
Danielle was GREAT on the phone, alleviating any concerns we had, and our puppy walked off with her like she knew what to do, despite the overwhelming barking from all the guests already there on spring break. A few hour stay turned into an overnight as we got more riding done, and the pick up the next day confirmed an excellent (and exhaustive” overnight stay.
Spotless facility, great staff. Definitely return when we go to the western slope to play

Charlie LOVED his stay… he came home happy and fell asleep in the car because he had do much fun playing.
I am amazed by how reasonable the boarding rates are, AND they gave Charlie a bath right before we picked him up. We will absolutely bring Charlie back! Thanks for taking excellent care of our sweet puppy!
