Allure Salon

My mother booked a spa trip for herself, my sister and I. The treatments included spa pedicures, mini manicures (gel for myself), facials, hair cuts and color, and a massage for my sister.
The good: The salon opened an hour to accommodate us. All of the people were friendly. They offered us drinks and a little gift at the end of the experience because we were first time customers.
The bad: The spa day felt like a trip to a beauty college without the luxury of an instructor to supervise.
The facials: The table was too short and my feet hung off the edge (I am not a tall person). The esthetician got chemicals in our eyes and mouths and my skin was dry and scaly for several days after the facial. The facial did not include the hand and foot massage as we were told upon booking. The worst facial I’ve ever had and I’ve had a range from beauty school to high end day spa.
The massage: my sister says is was wonderful.
The nails: The ladies doing the nails were friendly enough and tried, but they are inexperienced. I would call their brush strokes timid and halting. I got a lumpy gel manicure, which is something I didn’t think was possible until now. I believe that these ladies will get better with practice.
The hair: My sister’s hair was spectacular. The color was something that you see on pinterest. Even the stylist was impressed with herself and took several pictures. My sister left smiling. My stylist however had to be prompted to wash my hair and to dry it thoroughly upon styling. I feel that I could have received a better wash, cut and style at a budget salon. I feel that this is a training issue and may improve if the salon owner sets and enforces expectations for customer experiences.
Would I go back to this salon or recommend it to a friend? Unfortunately not.

We scheduled a girls day at this Salon a week in advance. We wanted 2 adult mani and pedi’s and 3 child mini mani and pedi’s. This was supposed to be a fun experience for the girls having their first mani’s and pedi’s. Well first thing, when we walked in, 10 minutes early, no one greeted us or said a word to us. Ok. So we sit down and wait for 15 minutes before someone asks if we have been helped. We explain that we had made and appointment a week in advance. Well turns out they were not prepared. They had the appointment down and what we wanted, but they didn’t have enough girls to work on us. So we had to swap out with two girls trying to do the mini man’s on the little girls first, which sucked because that left one girl sitting out by herself waiting while the others where getting theirs done. Ok, that’s ok. So finally a third girl shows up and we start swapping out to get the pedicures done on the adults while the last little girl is getting her mani and the other girls are letting their nails dry. The chairs were supposed to be massage chairs, but one of them didn’t work, no big deal though. So we are sitting getting our pedicures done and technicians working on us are talking, and the one is just completely rude and keeps giving the other dirty looks. It felt so awkward. If you have drama, keep it away from your clients. So, almost three hours later we go to pay and the girl rings us up twice, on accident. Once for like $ 2.94, and then again for the remaining balance of $ 224.00. Whatever, mistakes happen, but I made sure to cross off the tip on the one receipt so that a mistake did not happen on that ticket and get a tip added. I tipped $ 60.00, $ 20.00 each for each girl that worked on us. I don’t hardly skimp on tips ever, even if I wasn’t happy because I know that is how people make a big part of their living. My friend had also gotten one of the little girls a hair cut that was pretty quick and simple, so she paid after we walked outside. Well the same girl that rang me up then told her that she accidently forgot to add a full price pedicure to our bill. Um, no?! Mini mani and mini pedi’s were $ 15.00 each x6 = $ 90.00. Basic mani for adults is $ 25.00×2=50, and basic pedi for adults is $ 39.00×2 = $ 78.00. (These were the prices that we were given before service and while tallying everything up.) Total without tax is $ 218.00. How did we miss one? My friend was smart enough to ask for the receipt and calculated it right there with the girl, explaining that the amount I had paid was right, plus she was shocked to see how much I had tipped them. Finally after arguing about it for a bit the girl just said oh its ok never mind I must have made a mistake. Gosh, ya think? Talk about some scandalous stuff going on, but I would say that they might have a theif or con working for them. I made sure to check my charges when I got home and sure enough, there was another tip added to that $ 2.64 transaction. I called my bank right away and put a hold on the transaction. My bank requested a copy of the signed receipt and you could totally see where I had crossed off the tip area and where someone had tried to write over it.
Don’t go to this salon unless you want to get the run around, the drama between coworkers, unprofessional scheduling, services and equipment not up to par, oh, yea and if you don’t want someone to try and rip you off.
