History

Established in 2012.

Sedation Dentistry was started with the belief that dentistry can be pleasant, comfortable, and predictable. We believed in challenging the the status quo by changing the commonly heard quote «I hate the dentist» to «I love the dentist.» We wanted to create a peaceful environment and do great dentistry that lasts a long time. The I.V. sedation option was to be the answer for the patients who were fearful.

Once we got started, it became apparent that the majority of a patient’s anxiety can be alleviated just by taking the time to connect with a them in a comfortable and quiet environment. By listening to their needs, wants, and concerns, patients got a feeling of trust and security which helped reduce the stress of fear. This correlated to most people not even needing sedation.

To achieve long lasting dentistry, we focused on performing a thorough examination for every patient as the foundation of our treatment approach.

Meet the Business Owner

John N.

Business Owner

I have always had a hard time accepting «just because that’s the way it is» as the reason for things. I was tired of the stress from failed dentistry and wanted to know why it was failing. Everyone I asked during and just after dental school, couldn’t answer my questions. When I asked why we did something this way, they would say «just because that’s the way it is done.» Or they would give me an answer that didn’t make sense. There answers didn’t solve the problems I was seeing in practice. There had to be a better way.

Then I heard Dr. John Kois speak and I knew he had the answers to those questions. So I went to the Kois Center and learned from him and it changed my life. I no longer have to wonder if something will last. I am able to tell people this is what is wrong and why. I am able to alert people to risks of future problems. He changed the way I see the world of dentistry.
