History

Established in 2006.

I’ve planned family functions, holiday parties, corporate meetings and events for over 15 years, but never did I think I would become an event planner. It wasn’t until one summer afternoon while sitting in my office at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital that a Nurse Educator by the name of Mary Moberg sat down and said «Sherida, you are really good at what you do. You should consider becoming an event planner».

What I thought was just my natural ability to organize and get things accomplished effectively and efficiently, was a God given gift to bring calm in what seemed like chaos, and create memories for people that would last a lifetime. Thus Mylaija Andress Event Planning was established. That name is special to me because it represents my family. I’m a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and sister.

I went on to further my knowledge in the wedding industry through Sheffield School for Wedding and Event Planning in New York City, NY.
