Established in 2012.

Lonestar Foot & Ankle Group was founded in Granbury, TX in 2012, by Jayme Williams Cornwell, DPM AACFAS.

Our state-​of-​the-​art office was designed with patient convenience in mind. We’ve created a one-​of-​a-​kind information technology system that fully integrates and enhances every aspect of the patient experience, supporting our commitment to provide care that is patient-​centered, not physician-​centered. The physician and the entire staff recognize that their main mission is to serve their patients.

Lonestar Foot & Ankle Group has a strong and deep connection to this region. Jayme R. Cornwell, DPM AACFAS is a native of Hood County, born and raised in Granbury graduating from Granbury High School. Dr. Cornwell received her bachelor of biomedical science from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. She went onto Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to obtain a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.

During her second year of medical school, Dr. Cornwell was selected to finish her clinical training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas; a leading center for diabetic foot care and limb salvage. She worked closely with world renowned foot and ankle surgeons Dr. Lawrence Harkless and Dr. Thomas Zgonis. Dr. Cornwell went on to complete a 3 year residency at Scott & White Memorial Hospital, Texas A&M Health Science Center in Temple, Texas training under another world renowned researcher Dr. Lawrence Lavery. Training at this facility she learned the importance of a multi-​specialty team approach to medical care. She spent an additional year completing a research fellowship, working on various projects relating to diabetic foot care and limb salvage.

After residency and several years of serving in both hospital and private practice, Dr. Cornwell brought her expertise to Granbury and established Lonestar Foot & Ankle Group.
