Green Doggie Home Boarding offers a vacation-​like dog boarding experience for your best friend while you are away. K9 guests enjoy the comforts of a healthy and safe home environment, sleep on couches and non-​toxic dog beds, and have at least one human companion with them at all times. Our specialties include adventure dog hikes, nature walks, and swimming. What sets us apart from kennels, dog hotels, pet resorts, and other home boarding facilities is the high degree of personalized care and attention we give to our boarding guests. Denise even cooks for them sometimes! Parents can see just how much fun their dogs are having by going to our Facebook page. Photos are typically posted every couple of days. We also offer pet photography sessions for those interested in turning photos into memories that will last a lifetime. Professional prints, high end wall art, and a CD of high-​res digital files including all photos taken during your dog’s stay are available for purchase. Breed restrictions: Unfortunately we are unable to accept the following breeds due to insurance reasons: Pit bulls, Staffordshire terriers, rottweilers, presa canarios, wolf-​hybrids, cane corsos, and chow chows.

I started Green Doggie Home Boarding after losing my beloved German shepherd in 2010. I have done volunteer work at Pet Orphans in Van Nuys, CA and have been a host boarder for We Serve Pets. I have been a proud pet parent of 4 wonderful dogs over the years. Currently I don’t have a dog of my own so the dogs I care for become very special to me. I have done extensive research in K9 nutrition and holistic care for dogs. I have cared for diabetic dogs and am able to administer insulin injections. Also have had experience caring for dogs with DM, neurological disorders, mobility issues, vestibular disease, epilepsy, cancer, hip dysplasia, and blind and deaf dogs. Formal education: BA in cultural studies, State Univ. of NY, Empire State, AA in social science, College of the Canyons (Santa Clarita, CA), Ballet major, North Carolina School of the Arts (Winston-​Salem, NC).

Just got my puppy boarded for the first time and I am extremely happy with Green Doggie. Denise was very polite and friendly and I really liked the picture and video updates throughout the day. I will definitely be bringing my pup back when we’re in town!

It didn’t work out for us. We had a new rescue pup and a vacation planned a few months out, so were going to try and board her about once a week or so before the holiday, to build up a familiarity before we left. That was the plan. We went through an introductory meeting which went well, and a few days later I dropped her off when I had a doctor’s appointment. I left our dog with Denise in their front yard — who said she’d take her for a walk. What I didn’t see is that as I was driving off my dog started to panic and struggle (she’d been abandoned before). Denise said she gave her every indication that she would bite if she weren’t allowed to chase after me — but didn’t want to let go, worried my dog’s safety was at risk — and she took the bite. I received a call at the doctor’s office that my dog had been crated and Denise was bit. I was so mortified, so sorry that I had put Denise in that position — I just didn’t know the extent of my dog’s anxiety at that point and the panic leaving her would cause. I know better now and there’s been no further incidents — but still think of Denise and am so grateful — my dog no doubt would have taken off after me and been lost, maybe hit. This all happened last year, and I’ve been back and forth over whether I should leave a review — it was an awful day for all of us, and obviously we chose a different route (it works best in our situation to have someone who stays at our home) but then I thought people who are reading these reviews and considering boarding their loved ones at Green Doggie Home Boarding should know the depth of commitment they have for the pets in their care — it’s been truly put to the test. (So sorry again, Denise!)

I love this place! Green Doggie Home Boarding is the best, and such a convenient way to board your dog. Whether just for the day or while you are out of town this is the place. Our dog Holly always comes home from some fun after hikes and playing with all of the other dogs. Denise the owner is always so friendly and accommodating too!

My 8 month old puppy Betty recently stayed with Denise while I was in Europe. She had an absolute blast playing around the pool with the other dogs. Denise was warm and caring and sent me lots of photos and videos whilst I was away. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a home away from home for their dog. Thanks Denise!

We took our dog here last year and they were great! my dog had a great time and got along well with the other dogs. however they have a new insurance policy that doesn’t allow for them to have Pitbulls. If you have a pit you will need to look somewhere else.

All I can is this place is really the best. My dog was well taken care. I loved the daily pictures letting me know he was okay. Looked like he had a lot of fun. To be honest I think he has a better time there then at my house. I’m so happy I found a place for him and he hopes to see them soon.

Absolute best option for boarding your four-​legged best friend! Denise and the family genuinely love each dog that comes through as their own.
It’s such a luxury to know your pal is in very capable hands, that spoil them with hikes, treats, walks, occasional pool parties (when it’s warm enough).
Where else do you get picture updates of how your pal is doing?!
Extremely reasonable value when you consider Green Doggie’s package versus other boarding homes!
We are forever going to bring our Ted over there because we secretly think he’s their favorite! But in reality we bet that’s how Green Doggie makes all their boarders and their parents feel! Rest assured this will be the best Boarding option for you!

Green Doggie has changed the way my husband and I feel about leaving our pup. I love traveling, and go out of town quite a bit. My departures used to be dampened by that guily feeling af leaving our dog behind. Now, when we travel whether it is for a one way getaway or 10 days, we feel good about sending our dog to what we call «Green Doggie Adventure Camp» complete with walks, hikes, and swimming. Green Doggie is proffseional and accomodating. They take great care of the dogs, and Denyce is wonderful about communicating and checking in with people about how their dogs are doing. The complimentary dog walks and personalized dog hikes are optional, but a great experience. This is one of the reasons they are a bit strict on the flea treatment policy, and I very much appreciate this since the last thing anyone wants is to come back from a trip and have to deal with fleas or ticks. Some of our all time favorite pictures of our dog were taken by green doggie and posted to their facebook with our permission. I kid you not, but almost every picture they post of her is of her GRINNING. If you dont believe a dog can smile, check out their facebook albums and look for a chiauua terrier that looks like she is advertizing dog detnal services with her teethy grins! Their rate includes everything — food, walks, hikes, pesronal attention which makes drop off so easy. There is no running to the store to pick up a weeks worth of food, just a dog on a leash. My dog is happy to be dropped off here and actually comes home to us better behaved! She gets positive dog socialization when she is there which is important to us since she is an only dog. I appreciate Green Doggie’s proffesional «screening process». I read a review where someone complained about this, but when you invite a dog into your home and around your trusted doggie clients which you are in charge of, it is not only the responsible thing to do, but a necesary profesional decisiion. All in all, Green Doggie hs been great for our dog and our family! It is the perfect blend of proffesional Dog Day Care with the warm, intimate setting of a home enviorment. Thank you to Denyce and her family for making such a welcoming enviroment for my best friend!

Look, your dog is part of your family. They are in our family pictures, sleep on our beds, we buy them special foods, clothes and treats. You spend hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars a year to make sure your family member is happy and see that tail wagging. Because of all you do for them you want to make sure the person who spends time with them, when you can’t, will love them a 10th as much as you love them. Impossible, right? No one can love your pet as much as you do. You’re wrong. Denise, her mom and her dad Alan probably care as much for my baby as I do. From the very first day we took her, you could tell she found a second home. I simply have to utter the words «You want to go to Denise’s?» and she starts to go into a frenzy of excitement that only subsides slightly when I let her out of the car and pass her leash to Denise. She is loved, fed, walked, played with, given special treats when she goes for her visits. I cannot tell you how much we love Denise and her family for how they treat our girl. Her attitude and love for our girl have never changed in the 2 years of daycare and boarding. Take them for the hikes, pictures, video’s or swimming parties. But, most of all, take them to Green Doggie Home Boarding because you love your dog.

Called to inquire about their services and rates. They are not cheap and the lady owner Denise said and I quote «they charge depending on how difficult your dog is». She had a condescending tone and arrogant attitude on the phone. I especially did not like how she was passively aggressively saying my dog is not potty trained and may have fleas. All the judgments and not even seeing my dog yet. At this point it was pretty clear i would not be comfortable leaving my dog in her hands so a definite pass on this one. We have used quite a few other dog daycares and this is the only one i called who gave me this kind of unprofessional vibe from the very start. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A BUSINESS GETS A FEW FIVE STAR RATINGS AND THEN DEVELOPS A SUPERSTAR COMPLEX.

This is doggie paradise! I mean come on, can a pooch ask for anything more? Daily hikes, a refreshing pool to swim in the summer, clean beds to sleep in (and couches if you allow it), organic doggie treats, and a fun group of pack members to play with!
We took our 8 month old Border Collie, Holly, for daycare and an overnighter and she had the best time! The reason I know this is because Denise posts daily pics and videos on Facebook. I was in Vegas for the weekend and I didn’t have to worry at all about her! I felt like I had left her with a family member.
Beforehand, I had to fill out a questionnaire and Denise wrote back with a lot of follow up questions… a great sign that she takes good care of the dogs. She has strict guidelines (as she should) and she won’t take just any dog. I really like that she’s selective since I’m an overprotective mommy!
Denise took Holly up Mission Point (for those of you who have done this hike, you know that it’s no joke). She also got to run around with the other dogs in the big grassy area of O’ Melveny Park off leash. She made some fun friends (Cooper is her new boyfriend) and I can’t wait to take her back. Our puppy probably thinks my husband and I are super boring now…

We were on the road and needed a sitter just for the day but knew no one in the area and went strictly off of Unilocal.Always nerve racking to leave your baby with a stranger. We were so very happy with Green Doggie! Our dog is extremely shy and really prefers women over other dogs and esp men… so Denise took great care of her and even got Charlie to do her tricks for her! I was so impressed with the quality of the pictures she took while Charlie was there and she checked in with me throughout the day to keep me feeling comfortable. I highly recommend Denise and Green Doggie Home Boarding.

My new puppy sitter!!!
I found this in home boarding here on Unilocal and I am very pleased that the reviews do not lie! This home boarding is so amazing. Your dogs would feel like they were at home! My puppy Chanel was a guide dog in training and was dropped due to some medical issues so I needed to find someone who can watch her other than guide dog raisers… She had so much fun! She went on a hike, had a beautiful photo session done (she’s so labradorable), played with other puppies, went swimming and so much more. I am more than happy with the service and I will most definitely bring her back again! Thank you Denise for taking such great care of my baby :) she will see you again soon

We have a very active and playful 5 mos old choco lab that we have brought to Denise in two different occasions, one with overnight and a day care. Denise is very passionate with dogs, that’s why we feel very comfortable having our pup under her care. She pays attention to our instructions and provides feedback to us. She’s very good with follow up by sending pictures and updates of our pup. We highly recommend Denise to take care of your precious ones. SO relieved to have found this great family business. we heard about it from a dog owner at the vet, and after seeing the reviews on Unilocal we just had to try it. Needed to leave our 5 month old Boxer for a long day there. It was the first time I was ever leaving my puppy in the care of someone else. needless to say I was a little nervous,… few hours after we left our puppy, we received the best pictures ever! Denise emailed us a recap of his day and he seems to have had the time of his life!
I am so happy to know we can count on Denise and her family to take care of our pup when we need it or when we’re away! We definitely recommend this home boarding! 5 stars for sure!

Super excited that we found this place! My bf and I recently rescued a cockapoo from the shelter and we were nervous about leaving him at a doggie daycare that would keep him in a kennel most of the day. After reading the reviews and talking to a few neighbors I decided to give Green Doggie a try. Denise is awesome with communication and is very flexible when it comes to drop off and pick up times. The best part is getting a end of the day «wrap up» email from Denise sharing pics and details of what my dog did all day (i.e. hiking and going on walks). The peace of mind is definitely worth the money.

WE HAVE FOUND OUR PET SITTER!!!
I can’t even begin to explain what a lovely, warm hearted, and all around great person Denise is.
After taking our dog «Kali» to various dog boarding facilities, she seemed to have visible anxiety every time we picked her up to take her home. She’s an older dog about 13 years old and we opted for more of a «personal» atmosphere to take Kali on our next trip out of town.
Denise and her home were PARADISE for Kali. Kali had a backyard with a pool to walk around and investigate. She seemed to like lounging in the grass over looking the pool and just relaxing. Denise was very attentive to Kali’s needs and gave her medication as directed. The visible anxiety we were talking about was not at all present! Which means Kali had a very relaxing non stressful stay at Green Doggie Home Boarding.
What was awesome was Denise would send us emails detailing Kali’s day along with pictures of her adventures. We did not worry ONCE about how she was doing our entire trip out of town.
We would HIGHLY recommend Green Doggie Home Boarding to anyone who loves their pets as much as we do!
5 STARS FOR THIS PLACE!!!
P. S. This place is in Granada Hills. It’s about a 45 minute trip from where we live which proves how much and how far we’d drive just to have our dog taken care of much like she’s taken care of at home. We also got to meet Denise’s family which was a treat and are very LOVING people. Nothing but positive energy in their home!

I know my puppy is in good hands at Green Doggie. Green Doggie is the only place where he doesn’t get upset when I begin to leave. In fact, he runs in and forgets about me! And the best part is, I don’t feel guilty leaving him behind. What a relief!
The first time I took him to Green Doggie, Denise made sure to ask all the right questions (feeding times, last potty break, bed times, the commands I use, etc.). And while I was gone, she sent email updates with pictures from their walks and play. The undivided and loving attention she gives my puppy is fantastic. And when I pick him up, he’s in good spirits and doesn’t have that desperation he sometimes has when I pick him up from other places.
I definitely recommend Green Doggie. Oh, the prices: It may be a pinch more than others in the SFV but I feel it is worth it — if anything for the peace of mind. The green household cleaning products, lots of play time, walks and exercise, undivided attention from Denise (who is so sweet) who keeps him on his routine, and the fact he is excited to be there… All this makes Green Doggie a great value and my go-​to boarding and day care.
Green Doggie, can you please do night care so I can have a social life in the evenings but still take him home at the end of the night? I can’t find that anywhere!
