Although I am normally a fan of Michaels, this particular Michael’s is not laid out very well. The aisles are closely packed together and densely stocked. This type of layout makes it hard to find anything and is reminiscent of a Dollar store. I was going to buy something, but changed my mind because I didn’t want to stand in line. Stores need to understand customer feng shui can greatly influence buying behavior.

Yippee! Michael’s is open! To my delight, the new Michael’s sandwiched in between Kohl’s and Best Buy opened its doors. The bright, new store is laid out like your typical crafter’s paradise. During my Saturday visit, they held demonstrations of piping icing onto cookies and children’s crafts. Since embarking on my candy making/truffle journey, Wilton products have become my favorite. Fortunately, they have a great aisle filled to the brim with everything I need to make delicious treats from cupcake liners to beginner cake decorating sets. Being an avid knitter, I headed to the yarn aisle. It’s much smaller than the one in Brown Deer. Despite the size, I managed to find some pretty colorways of Patons Wool. Overall, this Michael’s location is a great addition to the variety of stores in the Port Washington Road shopping corridor. Though its a smaller store, it’s still worth a visit for my crafty needs.
