Im a sucker for a cute coffee shop and this one is adorable! Love the vintage feel! Coffee was good and had a bagel and breakfast burrito, also very good! MUST try the dill cream chesse! The best! Also, shout out to Ebony and Ivory! The sweetest and funniest duo at the shop!

Colectivo, I love your coffee and your food. That being said, this location is slooow. We weren’t in a rush or anything, but there was a pretty long wait to get your drink(longer than other locations I have visited). On top of that, my husband ordered a cappuccino, but it was way too heavy and was more like a latte. Now, I don’t expect any random person to know the difference, heck I didn’t know the difference for a while! But, when you work at a coffee shop I would expect them to know the difference. I will definitely give it another shot since it is the closest one to my house(by far) but I really hope they step up their game!

I come here in the morning, for meeting with friends, for lunch, for breakfast, etc. Love this coffee shop and the staff is always friendly and smiling. Their breakfast burritos, sandwiches and muffins are delicious and the coffee is fantastic. I just love the atmosphere and the outside patio in nice weather. Great spot, pretty easy parking and a great neighborhood coffee shop. highly recommended.

Great coffee, super friendly staff. Love the lattes and pastries… There is nothing unfresh about this place. Glad that they are in Grafton! Not crazy about the new name however the quality has stayed the same so no complaints.

Turkey club on sourdough– one of the tastiest sandwiches ever! Their brownies are killer, their quiches are always awesome, and their soups are delicious!

It’s been a hard adjustment no longer calling this joint Alterra but I must say the only thing that changed with the name was the name. Love Collectivos coffee, the vibe of the shop and the baristas. Friendly, warm and experts at making whatever brew you order up. We are regulars at this collectivo due to its close proximity to some of the stores we regular in Grafton. I’m not a huge fan of its parking arrangements. Having to share a über tiny parking lot in often parked on the side road. But the walk or skip is absolutely worth the frothy goodness of my favorite mocha. The paper cups are damn cute with the skull face as well. They offer up some food choices and I must recommend the almond crossaint. It’s often sold out by the time I get to them but I admit I stock up when I see them. So damn good. The shop offers up indoor and outdoor seating, a small line of coffee related items and beans ground or whole for sale. We get Black and Tan every time. It is the best! The old saying that you get what you pay for holds true here. You are getting one hell of a good cup of coffee here. Worth every red cent.

Very slow service. Ordered soup and quiche, which just needed to be warmed up, and waited forever.

guadalajara beef chili… nuff said. Probably one of the best chili’s ive ever had hands down. Chorizo burrito is a staple in my diet as well. Bakery is always a great choice, definitely give their scones and muffins a shot. Coffee is always perfectly brewed and hot. Staff is always fun, friendly and actually know what they are talking about with coffee. Grafton Collectivo basically puts anyone else to shame. Shout out to Dan, Shannon and Kelly for making it amazing over there.

When ordering, I was very disappointed because they don’t serve pour-over at THIS specific location. However, their drip coffee(probably right out of a machine) was unbelievably good and cheap for the quality.

I’m a fan of this Collectivo for socializing while enjoying some great coffee. I love the wraps they have for breakfast. If you are looking for a quite studying spot this might not be the spot for you. There is a parking lot for the shopping complex, which is always nice.

Colectivo is the Holy Grail of coffee houses for me and this one was no exception. This location is a little further from Interstate 43(which has a Starbucks right off the exit), but you will not be disapointed if you stop in at this groovy coffee shop. Some more good news is that I’ve been told Colectivo may possibly be coming to the Chicago area! This particular Colectivo is located in the downtown/main street area of Grafton. There are all kinds of shops and your traditional downtown area within walking distance. One of my favorite things about the Colectivo coffee houses is that even just walking into the store I always feel welcomed and become immediately surrounded in all things coffee with a unique rustic décor. They have really cool artwork spread throughout the interior and is a really great place to hangout and meet your friends. If you’ve never been to a Colectivo, you need to go… now! The staff here was super friendly. They took our order with a smile and a true sense that they enjoyed working there. I ordered a regular black coffee(I forget which blend it was) with very little room for cream(I like to just a some sugar and don’t like to make a mess when I stir). This is the first place I’ve been to in a long time that didn’t leave ~1 inch for my little bit of cream. This black nectar was filled perfectly almost to the top and I didn’t feel like I was losing out on a few sips. I also ordered the cranberry almond scone. The cranberry and almonds went together perfectly and the scone itself was a delicious little treat. Bottom line: You need to visit one of these unique coffee houses for full effect! The coffee is super good, the atmosphere is electric, and you will wish there was one nearby you after you’ve visited. Go hop in your car and get some coffee!

We always go out of our way to pop on here, when we are up in Wisconsin… It’s a little bit further away from interstate 43 than Starbucks but well worth it! My husband & I get the OUTRAGEOUSLYDELICIOUS«Espresso Shakes» made with vanilla ice cream and ground up espresso beans so you get to bite a chunk with every sip! Sometimes I even get the Mocha Shake for extra chocolate. The food is always delish when we decide to grab a bit too. My husband is currently whoofing down the cranberry scone & o am indulging in their White Bean Chilli. For someone who is a baby when it comes to anything spicy, I think it is perfect! If the heat gets too much, i have my Mocha Shake to cool down the spices! Great coffee, great people, great atmosphere… we love it! Wish they had some of these in Chicagoland! Keep up the great work Colectivo/Alterra peeps!

I work at Starbucks… ssshhhh. This coffee shop is the most welcoming I’ve been to. The staff is super friendly all the time, the food is amazing, and the drinks are great. I can sit here for hours and not feel like I’m in the way or annoying the staff. When I’m not at work, this is my choice for caffeine(and wi-fi).

I can eat breakfast any time of day and a good cup of coffee is a perfect compliment. I’ll admit. Alterra breakfast burritos or quiche(with their salsa on the side) with a cup of coffee is one of my favorite lunches. Some of the other cafes have heavier traffic and can get very crowded. Grafton serves a good amount of patrons throughout the day but I have never had trouble finding a place to sit or waited too long for my to go order. Eggs not your thing? They have lots of other options: soups, wrap sandwiches, salads, bakery and even falafel. They also have teas, smoothies, shakes, Sprecher sodas and cocoa for the non-coffee crowd too. Alas, if their espresso machine breaks, it severely limits the operation where the larger cafes usually have a backup, but there is still«old fashioned» coffee and bakery treats. Service is good but they are a bit more relaxed compared to the downtown staff. I am also a huge fan of Alterra’s clothing and gift section. I have several of the shirts which are brightly colored, soft(American Apparel) and feature their signature coffee brand logos. They also have mugs, teas, bulk coffee, coffee makers and much more. These items also make great gifts. Coffee frequent flyer? Alterra also has a loyalty card so you can rack up points for purchases and receive a free pound of coffee on your birthday(when you register). This is not limited to the Grafton location; it is good at all of the Alterra café locations(less the MKE airport). Other items of note: They have plenty of outdoor seating but it is close to a bustling intersection — even for Grafton. There are several businesses and a park within walking distance and parking in the lot behind the café or on 13th street.

I’ve been to all the Alterra locations a bunch of times, and this one is by far my favorite. Best service, best baristas, and best atmosphere out of all the locations in my personal opinion. Dreadlocks girl is super nice and provides awesome service that will start your day off on the right note, and skinny beard guy makes picture-perfect espresso drinks and is very nice and friendly. I should learn their names! I’ve been here dozens of times and service & drink quality are always a step above all the other Alterras. Alterra’s food, while kind of expensive, has always been really good in my experience. I used to think that all baristas everywhere were grumpy, but at this location they are all super-nice, professional, and actually have manners… wow, how about that. To other baristas everywhere: Take a lesson from this place and learn phrases like«thanks» and«have a good day» and watch me put larger amounts of money in your tip jar. Wow, magic!
