Yum! The soup is always fantastic and the sandwiches are deliecious! Perfect spot for lunch on a snowy day. There is also a nice variety of candies, coffee, tea, and jams(from an amazing company in Alleghany, CA).

CINNAMONROLLS… quite possibly the best I’ve had. Seriously, try them if you have the chance. Also, the staff were SO nice. I saw it was in the family for at least 3 generations.

The reason this restaurant get 4 stars is as much for the fact that they were open(lots of shops and restaurants in the area are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays). The other good thing was they have half sandwiches still with salad or soup. The food is okay, but nothing to spend time writing about.

I was hoping for more with such high reviews. A quiche would have been lovely with a nice side salad of fresh greens. This place is very traditional, desserts grandma would bake, very generic safe sandwiches and very heavy creamy soups. If you are looking to eat lighter you can half your sandwich but only a dollar is knocked off the bill. The staff is friendly and almost up in your face attentive. Very few choices for small appetites. I have been trying to have meat that looks like meat versus deli meat but no options here except a bagel or dessert for me. Blah.

I’d love to rate this place higher. I really would. The staff was very friendly, the place is really cute, is has all the«look» and«feel» of what I’d want in a small local shop. But… the sandwiches were seriously disappointing. Expensive, with very little stuff between the pieces of bread. What kind of place doesn’t put cheese on their roast beef sandwich? Or not have any bacon, or any avocado, to add to a turkey sandwich? And where your«options» for what to put on the sandwich are a single slice of tomato, some lettuce, and some red onion? The soup that comes with the sandwich was decent-to-good, but it was called«french onion soup» and didn’t come with any cheese in in. Isn’t that false advertising? On the upside: the cookies were awesome. Go here for the cookies.

Stopped in because I desperately needed some real WiFi & phone access while staying at an otherwise remote lodge up in the Lakes Basin. The owner & waitresses were absurdly sweet and accomodating. I tucked myself into a corner with a mocha and my laptop, and got to eavesdrop on 2 hours of the most wonderfully stereotypical small town friendliness. What’s not to like?

Stopped in for dessert and ended up staying for lunch. The food was overpriced for what you get, wow! I had a ham sandwich and hubby had a turkey sandwich on a croissant. Both were tasty and everything, just nothing special. I mean, when I’m spending $ 9 – 10 for a sandwich I expect something a step above the ordinary. The soup(stuffed belle pepper) was delicious! We also picked up a slice of chocolate mousse. The staff was friendly which was a nice plus! This place also sells giftware from local artisans, bulk candy, and bulk coffee. Didn’t partake in any of these but still wanted to mention them. Despite the high-priced lunch the dessert was excellent. If I come back it’ll be solely to satisfy my sweet tooth.

Good to sit outside under the shade on a hot day. Sandwiches are ok, pretty basic selection of bread, meat and toppings. Nice place to enjoy a quiet, slow lunch. Not a full menu like a deli though. If you have a sweet tooth, they have a pretty extensive candy selection inside. Pretty much every jelly belly flavor you can think of.

This is my favorite place for lunch in Graeagle. My usual order is half a tuna on slice wheat, soup of the day, market iced tea and cheese cake. It’s a perfect lunch on vacation when calories don’t count. My kids love the old fashion candy in glass jar which can be purchased by the pound. Great, friendly service too!

Graeagle Millworks is the place to come after your mountain hike! This is a wonderful little shop to stop in for coffee. .. either by the cup, or they also have a nice selection of coffee beans available by the bag(ground or unground). We purchase all of our beans for coffee brewing here. You’ll be greeted with a warm mountain home welcome as you enter though the front door. This family business is run by some very friendly, fun, and funny folks. In addition to enjoying a coffee or espresso drink,. .. and a laugh,. .. you’ll also discover that they have great sandwiches, soups, hot chocolate, and some awesome desserts, including. . cookies, cakes, pies, and pastries. I am particularly fond of their Hot Buttered Blueberry or Bran Muffins!!! Then, as you checkout, you’ll definitely want to grab a bag from their wide selection of Candies that they sell in bulk. Grab a bag of Something Sweet on your way out on the road(or the dusty trail). In addition, they offer free Wi-Fi to their patrons, so if you’d like to bring your laptop and enjoy a coffee or treat while you’re online, then this is the place for you in Graeagle. My recommendation after a mountain hike would be to enjoy a Caffe Mocha. .. served in a tall glass mug(see photo). . along with a soup or sandwich(another photo). .. and finish it off with something special from their counter of sweets! You’ll enjoy your conversation with some really friendly folks, and quickly understand why Graeagle Millworks is frequented by lots of locals. You may even find yourself similarly on a first name basis with the owners before you head out on your merry way! Enjoy!

this is a great place to stop and eat, and like tom, my favorite is the turkey and cranberry — very good, and the coffee. Yum. When you walk in, the smells are amazing, so be sure to inhale real deep! People are very friendly. I live nearby(in the next town) so this is one of the places I bring friends when I want to show them around!

HORRIBLE! The woman that greeted us inside was very rude! The sandwiches were disgusting!!! I ordered a turkey sandwich on a croissant and it was tiny with a pound of mayonnaise with a thin piece of slimy turkey and a little piece of lettuce… that’s it(no mustard, no tomato)! And the side of soup was COLD. and lacked any flavor! They also forgot my iced tea! The food was extremely overpriced for what it was too.

We tired the brownie and the mudd pie. Each was $ 4 and each was outstanding. A great diversion if you are looking for chocolate.

An utterly charming little shop to grab a delicious cup o’ joe, a slice of pie, or other tasty treat. The walls are lined with a wide selection of coffees for you to choose from. I enjoyed perusing their selection of candy I hadn’t seen since my childhood days. There’s a treat for everyone here. If you’re fortunate enough to chat with the owners, it’ll likely be one of the highlights of your day. My wife and I went in for a cup of coffee and came out wanting to move to Graeagle. The Mill Works is a must-stop during your visit to the area.

All I have to say is, YUM!!! The Chocolate cookies are delish, Cathy and Tim are amazing people, and the waitress Lisa is also great! I love to go in there for the wifi, great chitchat, and the food of course. Clean, cozy, and all of the food is made to order– never bland or cold(unless you’re ordering the gaspacho) =) 5 stars for this place!

Talk about the perfect«feels like home» environment. I stopped in here because of the want for some hot chocolate as it was starting to snow outside. The owners are Tim and Cathy Kurdupski. This was the first time I’d ever walked in, as I was on my way back to the bay area after being in a variety of snowy locations for the holidays. Imagine if you will: Walk up into what looks like a small house, the walls are lined with candies in jars, birdhouses that are hand made and waiting to be given the right home, postcards and recipe books, coffee parafanalia, hand made works of art, a variety of tables that quaintly fit around one another and the various people who greet the other by name and ask about their kids and livestock. Doesn’t this sound like a Norman Rockwell painting come to life? I lived it for an hour and it does exist. It was refreshing and it seemed as though time could stand still there. The scenery was absolutely breath-taking and as much as I loved that moment, I knew that I couldn’t take it with me, but I could take the experience with me in order to share it with you. Take a detour on your way to the snow and stop at this cute café, if only for the hot chocolate that was in a word, «Yum».
