First off, the family who runs this is super friendly, so I don’t want this to reflect poorly on them. We visited the sugar house this past weekend for maple weekend; where they advertised free tours and other events. We called and found out what time they were open to tour and visit. We arrived, and were confused as to where to park. Turns out they are on a sharp hill, and require parking on the street; not an issue. We were the first to arrive, and everyone was super friendly. We were asked to wait for more people to arrive, which wasn’t a problem, as it was a free tour. They were also still in the process of setting up. They decided they were going to take just us on the the tour, even know we said we were willing to wait. Unfortunately, the tour was really just showing us the boiler and explaining the process in about two minutes. The gentleman who gave the tour seemed as though he was more worried about setting up than walking us through the process. He did answer the few questions we asked then sent us on our way to try maple products. Everything was great except for the tour, they just weren’t ready for people, even know they were suppose to to be open. Apparently if we waited an hour, there would have been carriage rides, and something called«Jack Wax»(maple syrup flash cooled on snow) for a small fee. We would go back and visit, just a few hours later. Their homemade maple cream is fantastic(especially the cinnamon); and our son loved the samples.

Maple Glen Sugar House is a really friendly family owned business. They have annual«free weekends» where you can go try their syrup, and see a cool demo of how the whole process of collecting maple syrup takes places! It is kid friendly, and there are even $ 2 horse and carriage rides there. Best part was being pleasantly surprised by the variety of maple syrup products! Besides the expected bottled syrup, there is also maple based BBQ sauce, mustards, jelly, meat rub, cream, candies, doughnuts, and the best thing I tried… hotdogs boiled in maple syrup(Sahlens, of course)! They were so good! This is definitely an annual event that is worth trying out. The employees and products are great… a very sweet treat!
