History

Established in 1975.

Mike Anderson was a newcomer, a «rookie» to the restaurant business. But as both a legendary college football great and a retired athlete, he knew that success came with hard work and determination. Formerly an All-American Linebacker at Louisiana State University, Mike was, «literally,» not afraid to tackle anything… including his first restaurant.

Mike Anderson’s Seafood Restaurant originally began as Mike Anderson’s College Town Seafood & Oyster Bar in November 1975. Mike’s first menu only offered a small selection including po-boys and oysters on the half shell. With the restaruant’s immediate success, both gumbo and boiled seafood were soon added to the menu. Then as they say, «from that point on… the rest was history.»
