History

Established in 2009.

Isla Vista Screen Printing was established in 2009 when experienced screen printer Jose Cardoso and youthful entreprenuer Garrett Gerstenberger combined forces hoping to not only venture into the screen printing market with a professional mindset, but also with a personal effort to become an integral part of the greater central coast community.

Garrett Gerstenberger, who is currently a fourth year at UC Santa Barbara, began printing in his garage as a second year student. As a young sole proprietor, he was still learning the tricks of the trade when he met Jose Cardoso, another local business owner with over twenty-​five years of experience. After developing a strong and unique relationship, the two decided to come together to efficiently use their experience and resources of screen printing, graphic design, marketing, and sales. Aside from screen printing, design, and business, Jose Cardoso and Garrett Gerstenberger are best friends– a unique meld between the young and the old!
