It’s a hidden gem. The place may seem sketchy, but the food is really, really good and the serving is generous. A great place to get lunch for about or under $ 10 depending on what, or how much, you get. The 5 is for the food. There’s nothing really special about it, but it’s just good food I would crave every now and then.

The BEST spaghetti and meatballs I’ve EVER had… including home cooked, and I’m quite picky with this dish. Great friendly service. My office orders from here about once every 2 weeks(about 10 orders), and the food is never cold or late. Everyone gets a variety and I’ve never heard any complaints and no one ever objects when someone suggests ordering from there. Can’t rave enough…:-)

Best word for this place: eclectic. Fast-food service style. Gyros, chef salads, sysco brand steak sandwiches(according to the prominent 80sish sysco-provided ad), Asian food, and other stuff I’ve never heard of. Décor variety matches the menu. Dining room closes at 8:30 to a drive thru only. Originally, we decided on another nearby roadside BBQ place, but had a last minute change of heart because of Julie D’s review for Aggie’s steak sandwich. GREAT bread, and a PERFECT mix of steak, lettuce, tomato, and other fixin’s. We didn’t get the mayo and mayo-based sauce to save some calories, and it was still delicious. COMECHECKTHISPLACEOUT. While getting our free drink refill for the road, we thanked the lady for the great tasting sandwich and received a warm, «you’re welcome, suga’, come back and see us again!»

Is it a steak and sub joint? An american grill? An italian restaurant? Chinese take-out? All of the above! I was a bit confused to say the least when I walked into this place. A client group I was taking out to lunch said they wanted to come here and when we drove into the parking lot, I thought, «Wait, is this place still open?» It looked like it was rundown and perhaps abandoned so I was a bit skeptical. It looks like an old Hardee’s or other fast food joint ravamped by the Aggie’s staff and resembles a Chinese take-out restaurant but when you look at the menu, you see that they offer hot subs, italian specials such as spaghetti and lasagna, burgers, fried okra, egg rolls, and almost anything else you would want at a fast food grill. By suggestion, I ordered the«to die for» cheesesteak which they call a steak sub. It was yummy, really yummy! Not ‘to die for” but definitely shocking for a little joint in Goldsboro that I didn’t know existed. I will definitely be back next time I am on Gboro and feel the need for some greasy grill food since the fries looked scrumptious! Another reason why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover!

Absolutely, hands down, the BEST steak sub in the whole world! I’ve driven by this place many times, but had never stopped. A few of my classmates had gone and said that the steak sub was REALLY good. I’ve had a few steak subs in the past, but have never been terribly impressed. But, I was craving a cheesesteak, so I took advantage of the opportunity. I’m not going to comment on the environment or the dining experience, because all of that is overshadowed by the wonderful goodness of the steak sub. I ordered the large steak sub with french fries and a diet pepsi. When it came out, it was piping hot. In fact, it was so hot that I burned my mouth. However, after the first bite, it didn’t matter how hot it was, I could not stop eating it. It was DELICIOUS!!! The meat was flavorful and the perfect texture and amount. The cheese was provolone, and not that crappy cheese sauce or processed American cheese slices that so many restaurants use in making a cheesesteak. There was the perfect amount of lettuce, peppers, and tomato. The bread was lightly toasted. All of that together equaled pure perfection. Who would have thought that my time in Goldsboro would take me to a little restaurant that makes something so good that it easily makes my «last meal on death row» list. I will be forever craving the steak subs from this place. It is just unfortunate that I did not discover this place until after two thirds of the time of my stay in Goldsboro had already passed. Just to make up for it, I may have to get a steak sub every day for the remainder of my stay.
