Stopped in the other night with the guy to check out a new local place. Stumbled upon«Burger Madness Monday» — cheeseburger and fries for only $ 6. Great deal and, more importantly, the burger was tasty! We only stayed for a quick bite and couple beers, but service was great — we never waited for anything. Would definitely return.

Food is pretty good here for bar food. I’d say it’s a step above your normal bar food places. I sit at the bar so haven’t ever had bad service. Jen the bartender is awesome. Super cool chick! It’s a smallish place but cozy atmosphere. Wish they did have some of the old stuff back on the menu though. For that I knocked a star because there were some really great things they took off for some reason.

The food is really good. The service is really bad. The new menu is missing some old favorites, but the pastrami and the flatbread were delicious. They brought out salads with our dinner instead of before, so our sandwiches were cold by the time we ate them. The restaurant was mostly empty and the food took forever. The waitstaff was MIA and pretty rude when we flagged them down for our check. Probably won’t return, which is a bummer because this is our neighborhood joint.

The food is always pretty good but the service is always poor. I love the bar I just wish I could say the service was good. Every time I’ve been here I’ve had to wait for a waitress to get off their cellphone and hope for a beer. The manager really needs to look at cleaning house and making this a bar you can get a beer at

Pretty good Philly cheesesteak, and fries. Worth coming for if you’re in the mood for that. My fiancé had the burger and chips, not as great… I think it depends on what you order here. Off the beaten path so it was less touristy.

The atmosphere is okay– the food was a big miss. I wish they’d step it up a little! They’re one of the few sports bars in golden.

The food was good, typical bar food. I have an issue with serving draft beer in a 14oz glass and advertising it as pint, as well as charging regular pint prices. Most people my not notice the smaller glass, but the glass is not a pint glass. When I asked, the bartender he confirmed that it was a 14oz glass, said it was a Corporate decision to go to a smaller glass. I’ve heard of companies serving a 14oz ‘pint’ in the East, but not in Denver Metro.

This is decidedly a greasy spoon mixed with a dive bar. It has charm, it has character, but it also has sticky seats, dirty tables, and smoking at the doorway. The food is average to good, but variable. I’ve been there many times and got the perfect greasy burger I was craving and I’ve had food that could best be described as adequate. But hey… remember the dive bar comment.

They brought in a new bartender turned manager that proceeded to cut out 3 great workers, who happen to be mothers because he can’t figure out a schedule, What a joke and an insult to the regular patrons. Good luck succeeding in Golden with that angle.

Not as expected. My wife and I stopped after skiing and were disappointed that they serve typical dive-bar bar food. Beer was good. Queso was good. Entrées were eh. They also allow smoking on the patio which you must walk through to get inside. The inside also smelled of cigarette smoke. Not impressed and we will not be returning.

The new menu at the Spot is amazing … thier home made hummus puts mine to shame, the new salads just wow(Cobb, Heirloom, Thai … WOW), the BLAT is the most perfect master piece ever. This place is perfect for a college first date, Thursday family dinner, Sunday football, and don’t forget about Monday half pound burger and Tuesday buffalo chicken deal. I love this place.

Do, Not Frequent this Bar during Football season if you want to watch a game ! ! ! ! There are a couple of locals that contole all of the TV’s and watch want they want, channel surf and Challange and Confont you if you do not like what they are doing. I recommend going to other locations that designates their TV’s to eliminate this type of problem. Definatley not a safe place unless you like being bullied This is not the first time this happened and we are probably not the only one this happens to. It is sad that a neighbor location does not cater to all of its patrons. We pay the same prices and would expect the same courtesy’s. I was there with my wife and when walking out I was yelled and cussed at in front of everyone and felt threatened. Some one needs to get controle soon before some one gets hurt. NEVERGOINGBACK

I’m really bummed about having to lower my star rating for this formerly favorite local spot. In spite of the fact that they’ve done a really nice remodel inside, adding some cozy high-top booths and better use of the floor space, the service and quality of food has gone way down the tubes. We were there late yesterday afternoon with 2 other couples and ordered 3 pitchers, a beer, a shot and a Beam ‘n Coke. It took about 20 minutes for our drink order to make it to the table. The place was about 60% full and I only saw one waitress working the floor, so this may have been due to under-staffing. Then we ordered a couple of appetizers: fried pickles, green chile fries and«classic» buffalo chicken wings. Of the 3, the fried pickles were the most edible. The green chile fries had absolutely no flavor and the chicken wings had a weird artificial smoke flavor about them. Yuck! We ordered another pitcher of beer and at that time I ordered another Beam ‘n Coke which never showed up. Whatever. At least it didn’t get charged. And speaking of charges, the price was extremely reasonable, but the waitress attempted to charge one couple DOUBLE what they owed. Luckily, one person in our party was sharp enough to catch it. We won’t be back.

Dang — why can’t they be better. So close to home but so disappointing. The beer is good and cold hut the food is declining in both quality and portion size. Most recently we were served in baskets and I really felt like it was Jack In The Box or something.

If you’re looking for a bar to hangout and grab a bite, this is a good place to go. The food is good and the atmosphere is fun. They offer an interesting variety of appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, and a little bit of everything. We have tired a variety of their menu and haven’t been disappointed in the food. I also like their selection of beer on tap. I have to agree with other reviews though that the service isn’t the best. In fact it’s awful. We have been on multiple occasions and each time our server appears to hate their job and avoid their tables. Once they do come they are cold and short, same thing each time. One time I ordered a burger that featured avocado on the menu description. It came out without the avocado which is fine, I understand and don’t mind asking them to add it. Unfortunately though the lack of service had me out of my chair waiting at the bar for someone to see me holding my plate while my group ate their food. That was frustrating. Like I said they have a really good beer selection on tap. So it’s a shame when we have to sit with empty beer glasses for 5 – 10 minutes. On another occasion my boyfriend had to go up to the bar and order us a second round since the entire waitstaff seemed to be enjoying their own at the bar. No one had come to check on us since dropping off the food at our table. We had planned to stay longer and watch a game but that was definitely our last round. As someone who has worked as a server and in a restaurant/bar very similar to this one it is annoying to receive consistently bad service. I’ve been there and understand bad days happen. But you’re there to do your job and customers come first, plain and simple.

We were so hungry and I was way too lazy to make anything, so I broke my promise to not eat out last week(saving up for my long-awaited LA trip). A friend had told me that this place had awesome burgers. So what did we order? The chili cheese fries and philly cheese steak. WOW. The chili cheese fries were good. I’m still getting used to this green chili thing, I’ve never really had it until I moved out here. So when it came out I was pleasantly surprised. The green chili was spicy and not so piled on that I couldn’t get to the fries. The fries were cooked really well too, definitely made fresh and would have been great without chili and cheese too. So despite these being an appetizer and taking forever to come out… it was worth the wait. The philly cheese steak was good too, if only the bread was toasted or something, then it would have been just perfect. 4 stars for the food and reasonably priced beers. It was a Thursday evening(just missed happy hour). The place didn’t seem that crowded, but our food took an eternity. Our waitress was cold and stopped coming by our table and it felt like she was avoiding us. The guy behind the bar was friendlier and came by to tell us that our food was on the way(he must have realized how long we were waiting too!). He also brought our food out, which made him my new favorite person. Empty beer and water glasses on the table? I’m surprised our server never came back to ask us if we wanted more drinks or how the food was… I counted how many times she went to all the other tables and never stopped by ours. Funny how quick she was once she brought us the check and our credit card was on the table. Minus 1 star for our server.

Oh the Spot. What can I say about the Spot? I considered giving these guys 5 stars, but figured I better hold off. I don’t want to lose credibility here. So why is this place so great? Well lets start off with what they are. They are a bar. Period. They serve bar food and booze. If you want a nice restaurant, don’t go to a bar. Pretty easy. Now that we understand what they’re going for, lemme explain my 4 stars. Basically, this place is a really great, locals hangout. They always have a really good selection of beers on tap. Not too many, but what they’ve got is thoughtfully selected, and quality. Their wings are incredible. Best wings in Golden, easy. The rest of their food is bar food, but it’s damn delicious bar food. Try the Hades burger, that Melaguta sauce is pretty dang hot and awesome. Then they have good specials. Their $ 5 burger is a steal. The fish and chips is also a nice option for only $ 5. Yea, I’ve had slow service on more than one occasion, but the place is always quiet enough to have a conversation and the bartenders are always friendly and smiling(especially Chad, I swear that guy doesn’t know how to not smile!). And the staff will get to know you if you’re in there often enough, and that’s what I like. The Spot is a friendly, easy, hangout for people who want a great place to just sit, stay, and relax!

*Based On Take Out* Wednesday September 26th2012 Lunch Time: 12:22hrs. I opt for the Fish & Chips. When I received the Fish & Chips, my order DIDNOTCOME with Coleslaw. The Fish and Chips was slightly over-cooked. Especially the Chips. Maybe the fryer was Turned ON to a HIGHER Temperature, resulting slightly«burned» Chips. Still edible, Fish was A-OKAY. Overall Take Out Experience its better than MEH but NOT A-OKAY as yet. More like 2.75 stars. Definitely there are room for improvement. @144/2012

Music was pretty cool if not kind of loud. Bartender/waitress was personable, though very busy scrubbing with cleaners beneath the bar about four feet away from us as the cooks took pictures of her. Odd. Large indoor space with outdoor covered patio seating and what appears to be plenty of parking. Downside is that the drinks(non-alcoholic) were watered down, powdered or just plain tasted of feet. The soup was like licking a salt block and the nachos were hard, weird and generally unappetizing. I wouldn’t go there for the food, ya’alls. Not a huge crowd there and it’s pretty clear why.
