Jeni is very happy working with her hands creating great hair and make-​up looks.

Her experience ranges, and includes film, TV, event styling, print and runway with such clients as Victoria’s Secret, Cosmopolitan, The Travel Channel, and FX Network.

Hi, this is Jeni!

I have been doing hair and make-​up now for over 8 years, and have enjoyed bringing my experience from Los Angeles and Philidelphia here to Austin, TX!

I currently split my time between production work, weddings, and salon time– a blend that is beautiful and most enjoyable.

I pride myself in the time I take to listen and care about each clients needs and desires. No working situation is more or less important from the next.

Jeni has been my hair stylist for 7 yrs. I loved what she did for my hair. She did an amazing job at cutting, styling, and coloring. I could go by for almost 3 months after a cut and the style would still last. She is an amazing stylist who is dedicated to her craft. She listens very well with patience and advises with understanding of what’s best for your hair. She does incredible work! I’m sure, anyone who will have the opportunity to have her as a stylist will be completely satisfied.

I can’t even remember how long I have had Jen cut my hair. All I know that she is the best! She listens to what I want and then gives me a cut that I am thrilled with! Jen has been my hair stylist for over 5 years. I am a «natural» blonde and she rescued my hair from a botched color job from another salon. She does amazing corrective color as well as beautiful dimensional highlights. She is a true professional — willing to offer suggestions but never forcing her opinion. She is willing to do exactly what the customer wants. My hair looks so amazing now that I actually have women walk up and ask me who my hairdresser is. Austin’s loss is Golden’s gain.

Jen was my hair stylist for over 7 years (which is a super long time for me to commit to one hair stylist). I loved working with her — she is a great listener — both asking what I want and offering suggestions on something new a slight tweak or change. I trust her instincts and style and she always made me feel comfortable in her salon. As an extra perk, Jen also introduced me to the man who became my husband and then she did my wedding hair and make up — which I loved (both the introduction and the wedding up do!). I can’t say enough great things about Jen so if you like approachable and stylish, Jen is your girl!

Jeni did the hairstyling for both me and my bridesmaids at my recent wedding. She did an awesome job!
First I did a trial run which was a great idea. Not only do you get to know Jeni a bit (and vice versa, which makes it more comfortable on the day of the wedding), but I got to try out my hairstyle and provide Jeni with feedback before the big day. I have a lot of hair and it’s quite long, so although the trial hair looked great it did start to feel heavy throughout the night. I provided her with this feedback and she made some minor changes for the day of the wedding to hold it up better. She knows what she’s doing because it totally worked and looked great throughout the night.
By 4:00am, we were finally winding down our after party and a few random curls had come loose from my bun (they survived the entire wedding itself though) and it still managed to look gorgeous. I mean c’mon, if it can last for 15+ hours of dancing, partying, etc. and only a few minor curls come loose and still look good, I call that a total success.
Also, as I mentioned earlier she did all of my bridesmaids hair as well (no trial for them). They each looked great and were very happy with their look. One of them was hungover from the rehearsal dinner and Jeni laughed about it along with the rest of us and powered through to finish us all up in time.
Would definitely recommend her!
PS. I did the trial run in her salon which is small but very cute. Plus I was offered hot tea, wine, and some other beverages I can’t remember right now and that’s always a nice touch in my book.

Jen Hoover. Gorgeous work. Consumate professional. From the hair trial at her salon for my daughter, the bride-​to-​be, to her fabulous updos and styling for the entire bridal party at our home, we could not have been more pleased. Her full attention to the bride, her ideas, Pinterest photos, and unrushed demeanor at the salon gave us all a great feeling about what was to come.
The day of the wedding (3−22−14) she arrived right on time, set up a mini-​salon in our master bath, and proceeded to work her magic. A last minute style change by the bride based on a more recent find of «THE» prefect hair photo didn’t phase Jen a bit. She recreated it beautifully to the bride’s great joy! It held up through the ceremony and a long, happy night of dancing. Each member of the bridal party looked absolutely stunning.
But my deepest gratitude comes from a last minute «save» by Jen even though she literally had a plane to catch. We had hired a separate makeup artist so that Jen could focus on the bridal party hair and so that girlfriends of the bride who wished could join the bride for the primping activities of the day. The makeup artist also does hair on the side. Since I planned to have a smooth, simple bob style, I let that stylist do my hair thinking it would be simple enough. It was awful… curly and puffy, not flattering in any way and nothing like I had asked for. About to have a stroke, I ran to Jen and asked if she could possibly help me. She only had a few minutes of time left but sat me down and calmly and expertly reworked the style. She saved the day for this eternally appreciative mother-​of-​the-​bride. Jen is the very best and worth every dime.

I can’t say enough about how pleased I was with my experience with Jen ! I decided to splurge and get some professional help with hair and makeup for my wedding. I went to Jen with a very vague idea of what I wanted and she nailed it!
I wanted to feel pretty and confident for the pictures (I usually hate having my picture taken). After I left the salon I felt like the most beautiful version of me. I enjoyed the photography and the pictures are gorgeous!
On a side note, I booked Jen for a cut and color prior to the wedding. I love my hair right now and will be using Jen on a regular basis.

Jen recently did my hair and makeup for my wedding and I am SOOOOOOOO glad that I decided to spend the money for a professional look! Every picture I look at from my wedding day looks fantastic!
I had been worried that having makeup done professionally would look overdone or that a professional would do such heavy-​handed makeup that I wouldn’t look like myself. I chose Jen because the photos I saw of her work looked very natural. I also explained to her that I don’t often wear a lot of makeup and she gave me a look that was just incredible. I LOVED what she did with my hair — I wish I could look that way every day!
She did my makeup at my house and on the way over to the wedding, my brother and I ran into a department store and asked the ladies at the makeup counter to match the lipstick color Jen had done so that I had a lipstick to use to retouch during the evening. I wear that lipstick all the time now it was a great color for me!
I highly recommend Jen!

Jen did my hair and makeup for my wedding (along with the hair and makeup of my bridesmaids) in January, and she did an amazing, amazing job. We had a trial a few months prior to the wedding, and when on the wedding day I decided I wanted my hair slightly different, she did not flinch at all. She traveled to the venue, put everyone at ease and gave everyone the look they wanted. Weddings are stressful events, but she was efficient and relaxed and made sure everyone looked their best.
I simply cannot recommend her more.
