Buffalo Moon Coffee Shop

Super friendly staff, willing to go out of their way to accommodate my odd request of heating up my Thai food. Great coffee as well! Perfect stop in the way to/​from the mountain.

Such a cute spot — we were so happy to stumble upon this local coffee shop! Seemed family owned and operated, great selection of local crafts and gifts.
We had 2 different types of Chai — Big Train and Mochi (?) — both delicious!!!
Would love to support this special Mountain Coffee Shop any time I’m passing by.

Had the turkey artichoke sandwich. Was really tasty. Friendly owners, and good vibe. Will be back!

There’s something depressing about this place. It has so much potential! Especially since there’s no Starbucks or other coffee chain nearby (nearby being within 10-​minute driving distance, as far as I can tell) and the place has that local charm thing going for it.
I didn’t order any food but dropped by for coffee. I wasn’t impressed with the Americano (weak, lukewarm) and the drip coffee was pretty mediocre too. I’m not sure if the depressing factor comes from the mediocre coffee or the ambiance that kind of reminds me of a Hallmark store nearing its closure. The shop keeper seemed uninspired at best.

No high chair, but the outdoor seating faces the morning sun so I just pull up the stroller to the table. Sun umbrella is an option.
The smothered green chili breakfast burrito is really very, very good.

Nice location right off the highway. Clean, comfy little shop with a variety of breakfast options– breakfast bagels and burritos as well as lunch options.
Great mochas. Heard reports of good coffee too. Also they have sodas, juices, etc. Also some fun gift shop type items including locally made things.

This place was mis-​managed for a few years: or at least when you went in there you didn’t feel like they cared much if you were there or not. It’s been under new ownership for several months yet. I can’t speak to the food, only the coffee, which is good. I will try some food there another time. The owner’s are parents from my kids’ school: their kids «work» in there some time as well.
The owners are husband and wife and one is usually, if not always, there. They are friendly and welcoming.

OK, I have to help these guys out and balance out the one star review … this place is great! I hear they are under new management (certainly layout is different than my last visit) — but we really enjoyed the place. It is very comfy inside, great menu selections, and kid friendly. The gentleman working when we were there was exceptional — friendly, funny — and was very kind to my little one as she tried to show him all the drawings she was making on the etch a sketch they provide for kids.
Coffee was very good, didn’t try the food (although we kept planning to stop in for breakfast — the selection looked really good). Definitely worth a stop — and nice for the locals as other coffee shops are at least a good 10 minutes away.

What a warm, welcoming little coffee shop. Great selection and the food is scrumptious! I highly recommend this business. It’s under new ownership and the owners certainly take hospitality to the next level! Yum! Oh and they have great unique gift items too!

We arrived in Denver, Colorado about 10am, picked up our rental car and zoomed towards the Summit Valley on I-​70. We were hungry and by chance we saw the next service stop sign, unfamiliar with the area and considering this is our first time in Colorado, we stopped at this small shopping strip just east of I-​70, 40mins from Denver airport.
It has the cozy, small town café type interior. As you enter, you will find some tables on your right with shelves stocks with greeting cards, souvenirs, books, etc and the left you will find the counter where you order and further down is their «kitchenette» equipped with, wait… a microwave!
The staff is very friendly. So we ordered the following:
2 small café au lait $ 1.79 each: pick up your own paper cup, fill up from the coffee urn and they server/​teller will bring you some hot milk, wth?
chicken gordon bleu wrap $ 6.50: decent with pre-​prepared cubes of chicken wrapped in spinach tortilla
bagel with eggs: i asked for sunny side but they only make it scrambled and of course, i eventually found out that they uses Egg Beaters & microwave…
today’s soup: «homemade» tomato soup with chicken and alphabets pasta, wow! It was still cold when we got our bowl of soup, then they have to microwave it the 2^nd time… wonder if its from canned or left over from the owner’s previous evening meal…
Conclusion: If you happen to be there to fill up your tank and really hungry and this is the only place that is open and you dont mind pre-​prepared, microwave to order, ready made dont-​know-​for-​how-​long food, then, be my guest… Otherwise, drive further up to the little town of Golden, CO and i’m sure you will find something better…
