The God’s Child Project

God’s Child Project is an amazing idea! The founder has accomplished so much as far as providing shelter, education, counseling and other basic services for children who are victims of poverty, abuse and drug trafficking. However, the way the Development Director treats job candidates and interviewees is disrespectful and reflects poorly upon the organization. I interviewed for a position with them two weeks ago. I was very interested in the position. I wrote a letter expressing my interest and called to leave messages to the person responsible for hiring or for communicating employment decisions. This guy does not even have the consideration to reply. I light of the fact that I, and my family would be great candidates for volunteering over the summer on an actual project, this is very short sighted. All support comes from donations and volunteerism. It seems like a very bad organizational strategy to alienate the very people most likely to support your cause. Too bad. This is a review of the interview/​communications process which really deserves a 1 or a 2, but the project mission is too important to give this rating.
