This guy is terribly unprofessional, laughing off any issues or concerns we had and basically ignoring our requests. His«apprentice» is his wife Hannah. They were picked by my contractor(who will NOT be using them again). So where do I start? They were hired to do the electrical work for an addition and whole house remodel on the rest of our residence. They seemed to do okay when they were working outside on the addition, but DON’T LETTHEMINTOYOURHOUSE! They were incredibly messy, leaving boxes from the lighting fixtures wherever they happened to land, and never cleaned up after themselves(bits of wire, insulation, staples, screws, etc) left all over the place. They did not pay attention to our requests. I asked for the ceiling fan to be installed without the extension so it was a ceiling hugger. Hannah put it in with the extension, so they had to come back to fix that. We asked for dimmer switches in the master bedroom and bathroom and it took them 3 trips to remember to bring the correct switches with them so they could be installed(after they had installed a single pole switch in both places that had to be replaced). We asked that ALL of the outlets, switches and covers be white, so some of the old ivory colored switches needed to be replaced. Hannah was installing a new outlet, grounded it out with her screwdriver several times(lots of sparks and the breaker had to be reset each time), then after they left, we realized that she had used an old ivory outlet … that had to be replaced the next time they came out. Keep in mind that they billed my contractor for every trip to the job site that they made. We were told that they installed a new DSL line for our computer(as per our request) and then had to argue with them when they came back to work on the remodel portion… Rusty knew nothing about a new DSL line. After much discussion, he finally located the wire, hooked it up, wrong of course and had to come back and fix it. When he finally got it hooked up correctly to the interior, he failed to hook it up to the phone box, so still no internet access. There was a bucket with switch plate and outlet covers in white(some that we had purchased, some purchased by the contractor) that were to be used on this job. They took off with those, leaving several switches and outlets without cover plates. The absolute topper was when they had to go under the house for something. There was a crawl hole in the hallway and one in the new addition. It was wet under the house and big footed Hannah walked across my brand new carpeting with her muddy boots leaving HUGE muddy footprints on my light yellow-gold Berber carpet! I was livid when I saw that mess! My contractor called Stanley Steemer and had the carpet professionally cleaned the next day, and sent the bill to Rusty, who refused to pay for the cleaning, even though they had caused the problem. So do your research, find a good electrician, but DON’T hire Rusty and wife!
