Jerry’s Rogue Jets

We went in the 104 mile trip and had an absolute blast!!! I highly recommend this trip to anyone and everyone looking for a fun time! Our pilot Jeff was amazing and so was the weather. Celebrating our 8 year wedding anniversary and decided to make this an annual tradition. Love the Rogue, and love Jerry’s Jet Boat rides! First class business from booking to getting off the boat! SO MUCH FUN!!! Also, amazing prices for the time, scenery, and adventure you get!

I brought 3 friends along with me. We saw beautiful scenery and bald eagles, buzzards, osprey, egrets, cormorants, ducks, a bear, deer, and elk. Furthermore, the pilot was very informative about the scenery and wildlife, and also, told hilarious tall tales. All that was fun.
However, on the way out, we were intentionally drenched by quick stop turnarounds. Some passengers thought that was fun. Due to the turns being to the left, those passenger on the right side didn’t get much spray whereas we on the left got miserably soaked. Mind, we were fully dressed on the unseasonably overcast day.
Over our clothes, we four wore thin plastic 5 foot long emergency ponchos that we gripped tightly under our chins. However, they were so whipped by the wind they didn’t offer much protection. We finally resorted to stretching a poncho over our heads like a tarp. However, the water ran down our pant legs and into our shoes. After a dozen soakings, I started to call it the «torture ride».
Fortunately, on the way back in, the pilot asked the passengers if they wanted to be wetted. Of all onboard, only one man and his son, who were sitting in front left behind the wind shield, threw up their hands. The pilot managed to quick stop dip the left front of the boat a few times enough to spray only those two passengers; so everyone was happy on the way back to the ocean.
My suggestion is that the pilot should occasionally ask if anyone wants to be wetted.

What an unexpected surprise! Pulled in here on a whim, turned out to be the highlight of our costal road trip. Beautiful scenery, great food (Cougar Lane), and fun times. A must do on the Oregon Coast. Perfect for all ages and group sizes.

Would definitely recommend Jerry’s Rogue Jets. The first portion of the 104 mile trip was about the history of the river; the second leg of the journey was a soaking blast, filled with spins, waves, and splashes. We didn’t get to see much wildlife that day (Probably a hit or miss) however, we did get in a few water fights with several kayak groups. The drivers navigated the river with ease and were respectful to fellow river enthusiasts. If I had one recommendation for the business, it would be to wash down the life jackets, they’re a little ripe. Will definitely do again.

We did a variety of activities in the Gold Beach area, all of which we would recommend. We went golfing at Cedar Bend, Horseback Riding at Bandon Stables ($ 40 an hour), cheese tasting, wine and lunch at Face Rock Creamery (about ½ hour north in Bandon), exploring the various spots you can pull off of 101 that are part of Samuel Boardman State Park (beautiful short hikes, and a nice beach near the town of Brookings ½ hour south) but our favorite activity was the Rogue Jets.
We did the 80 mile (R/​T) whitewater trip. I would absolutely recommend paying a little more for this trip if you like a little splashy fun. The first 30 miles (60 R/​T) is the wildlife/​sightseeing portion. We got to see harbor seals, salmon getting caught at the beginning of the ride, blue herons, osprey, and the beautiful scenery. But the big treat was that our guide spotted a bear in the berry bushes! If you only do the wildlife portion, you will turn back after your stop in Agness. If you do the whitewater portion you get a fun, bouncy splashy ride through some rapids north of Agness. It is good fun for all ages, not too wild. If it’s cool in Gold Beach, don’t worry. It was about 20º warmer in Agness the day we went! Jerry’s Rogue Jets also supplies blankets and windbreakers if you didn’t bring your own.
You have 3 choices for your meal stop. We chose Cougar Lane, and the food was excellent — barbecue and burgers with a gourmet touch. I had the salmon burger with dill sauce. My nephew had a burger which featured bleu cheese and jalapeños. My husband had Dirk’s Frisco Burger which had bacon and cheese, and was enormous (on a long baguette-​style sandwich roll). All of it was delicious!
Our guide was fun, and in general all of the staff was friendly. Enjoy your trip!

Didn’t think I would like it as much as I did. Mainly took the trip to keep the wife happy. I had been fishing everyday and she needed to do something she wanted. We took the 104 mile trip. It was fun to see everything and nice to have someone else drive the boat for a change. Saw a mink, bear and deer. As far as the complaint that the boat captains were not courteous to others on the river that was not my experience at all.
We had lunch at the Cougar Lodge. I thought the food was good and the prices were very reasonable for BBQ food. I did not have a beer but looked like a great place for a drink and again beer prices were reasonable, even a little cheaper than my local dive bar.
Best part of the trip was the wife loved it and I got to check out upriver for my next fishing trip.

Just got back from the 64 mile excursion. So much fun! We saw a bald eagle, blue herons, egrets, tons of ducks and geese, mink, otters and a buck. Stopped in Agness for lunch. We had lunch and drinks at 10:30 am. But we are on vacation, so it’s okay! Jim was our guide and he was fun and knowledgable. It was a bit cold in the morning but on the way back it was hot! So, Jim actually did some fun things with the boat and the people in the back row (us!) got drenched. Highly recommend!

Awesome. Took the 104 mile tour. Lots of wildlife to be seen. Great guide, knowledgeable.

I would suggest that the boat captains get some River etiquette for other users of the river. I was Wade Fly fishing and while other boats showed common courtesy by slowing down when they passed me, Jerrys Rogue boats blew right through the hole I was fishing. I also witnessed them blow by some kayaker so who were just learning. Boycott this tour until they start using proper river etiquette. Every should be able to enjoy the river.

You will have a lot of fun by taking this boat. Better bring a jacket from the check in place, or you prefer get wet ! Put some sunblock on your skin !!!

Worth every penny!
We choose the 80 mile trip, it was great! John our boat captain was great. Dress warm and opt for the jackets they give you to barrow. The boat speeds along at around 40– 50 miles per hour. It warms up once you get down stream. The captain did some narration along the way but the best part — spinning in the boat and getting wet! Yes you’ll get very wet! Sit in the back edges if you want to get soaked! Had dinner at singing springs– buffet lunch with salad bar, smoked turkey, bbq shredded pork, fried chicken, baked beans, corn on the cobb, soup, brownies and cakes, soda, wine and beer on tap. The waitress was so nice and accommodating. I will say that the walk from the boat to the restaurant is up a very steep hill. You get about an hour and 20 minutes to eat then the boat picked us back up for the ride back. It was a great day! Kids liked it, all ages of people were on the boat. And I must mention the boat dog– she seemed to know what was going to happen and when! Highly recommend!

This was a family vacation memory that will go down in time! The scenery, sights, captains, meal stops and even other passengers made this trip an unforgettable experience that everyone should do once in life!

The 108 mi white water Rapid ride was perfect on the 90degree weather day when we did 180 turns.
Can’t wait to come back another year!

This is a must tour and you should do the 104 mile trip it’s the best! You have to remember the drivers are people and with that comes different personalities so each driver is different. I know from experience we had two different drivers on our trip, first one was very good about spotting wildlife and very courteous on the water the second one did awesome spins & dips to get us wet. My suggestion is make sure to talk with your driver before starting and let him know what you want and encourage the rest of your boat to do the same. They all want you to have an awesome experience. Lunch was good at Singing Springs but you don’t have to have the buffet you can order off their menu.

Insane way to travel up a river, I’ll tell you that much. Awesome tour guides tell you all you need to know about the Rogue River, and ours had an eye for wild animals. Deer, osprey, heron, otter, and bald eagle. 360 degree turns and a top speed of 55 miles per hour. Sweet ride. Highly recommend the 100 mile trip over the others.

Took our family this past weekend and had an amazing time! Take the longer 104 mile trip it is well worth it. Rapids and boat spins along with watching all of the beautiful wildlife made this a trip we will never forget. I highly recommend. Definitely wear layers as the trip starts off cold but then warms up considerably. Was great that Jerrys offers jackets to lend out at the beginning of trip too. They definitely thought of everything.

My husband and I were here for our anniversary. We have done white water rafting but this sounded like fun. Wonderful

I am an active, outdoorsy person who frequently goes on multiday rafting trips in the wilderness. As such, I was highly skeptical of taking a daytrip on a jet boat. However, it was really really fun. The scenery is beautiful and the captains are great at soaking you just the right amount on a hot summer day to keep things pleasant and cool. You might also see some wildlife (we saw deer and bear). A few tips:
1. We did the longest trip, which I highly recommend.
2. Bring warm clothes for the first few miles but be prepared to strip once you get inland a bit — it’s hot!!!
3. Bring your own lunch/​dinner — you can buy food at some of the stops but it seemed not worth the money.
4. DO bring some money to buy a beer for the stop in the afternoon, though!

This is the best. A must if you are in Gold Beach and if you love a fast boat ride and lots of wildlife.

What an amazing adventure! We took the 104 mile trip up the Rogue River and saw all kinds of wildlife. You name it, we saw it. Deer, Seals, Peregrine Falcon, Bald Eagles, dozens of Blue Herons, ducks, Osprey (even one with a fish in its talons) and bears with cubbies.
It was such a fun experience. The jet boat was comfortable, even though there were about forty of us sitting along the benches. We bounded our way upriver spinning around rocks and splashing through the rapids, stopping for the assortment of wildlife we encountered along the way. The journey was broken up by our stop for lunch and we enjoyed the buffett there. Where the early part of this was like a safari, the second part was an amusement park ride. You’ll surely get wet past Agness when you go over stage 3 and 4 rapids. Sit in the front or the sides if you want to get splashed.
The jet boat itself is a cool piece of machinery that reminds me of those airboats that float across the bayou. No prop, it works on an intake system where water passes through a pump and then shoots out the back of the boat. This allows it to skim across the water at high speeds. Our pilot was an ace and steered us with the utmost precision. We shot across rapids, swerved all about the width of the river and did 360s spins all day around rocks and other obstacles. He seemed to be having as much fun as we were as we came within inches of stick and rocks at top speed.
We had such a blast and didn’t get too wet, though you’ll want to layer up and wear something that dries out quickly. So much fun! Pickup and drop off right at the dock at our lodge. Something you’ve got to do when in Gold Beach.
