Specialties
Jerry’s is a nature based jet boat excursion for all ages. Trips navigate the Wild & Scenic Rogue River daily from May 1 — October 15. A great blend of adventurous jet boating, pilot narration, and the beautiful Rogue River canyon make this trip a must do for anyone traveling the Southern Oregon Coast.
History
Established in 1895.
In 1895 Elijah H. Price negotiated a mail route into the remote Rogue River wilderness. Shortly after, a small post office was built in Agness, OR (named after the postmaster’s daughter Agnes). Over the years people would begin paying to ride along with the boats and word of the Rogue River and its boat trips began to spread.
In 1959, a local band of brothers by the names of Alden, Court, and Jerry developed the first Jet drive boats that could safely navigate the shallow riffles far superior to the current propeller boats. Noticing the rising popularity of the Mail Boat rides, the Boice brothers built the very first ‘Jet Boat’ on the Rogue River, added in humor and narratives, and created Jerry’s Rogue Jets. The popularity of Rogue River boat rides skyrocketed.
As of 2010, Jerry’s & the Mail Boats are a single operation and whisk neary 40,000 excited tourists up the Rogue River each season between May 1 — Oct 15.
