The 10 X 15 unit that was available when we rented in the fall of 2014 has a chicken wire ceiling — yes, that is correct, no solid ceiling to the unit. The building roof is many feet above the chicken wire. We needed the storage, so we took this unit @ $ 85/month thru U-Haul. Since we were concerned about the possibility of birds getting into the building, and therefore bird droppings ending up on our furniture, we put a large, heavy duty tarp over all the furniture and under the chicken wire. Well, when we came to move the furniture out recently, we discovered that there had been a major roof leak in the building’s roof. Large pools of water had collected onto the tarp. Luckily none of our furniture was damaged. The tarp did its job. When I questioned the staff about all this water, they advised that the roof was being repaired. I asked why there was no solid ceiling over these storage units. They had no answer other than the owner was having the building roof repaired. We were very fortunate that we had used the tarp. Otherwise, everything in this unit would have been ruined. It was also interesting that the staff had not contacted us ahead of time to tell us about this major leak so that we could check our belongings. The unit was secure, and everything was as we had left it, but the lack of a solid ceiling is ridiculous. I do not know if all the units are like this, but I would warn potential renters to check this out before reserving a unit. RENTERSBEWARE.
