My only disappointment is that I did not find this place until my last night in town. A local recommend it and it was excellent. I had the seafood combo.

Very good choice. Owner visited table frequently to make sure we did not have questions and were satisfied. Their seafood selections were very good, one person had the stuffed tilapia and loved it. I had the seafood crepes and they were very good. Very friendly staff and a non rushed environment.

Never come to town that we don’t for breakfast. I hear lunches are great. This time is no exception. We have been here a week a twice for breakfast. My favorite is Olivia’s Special. Eggs, bacon, toast or biscuit, potatoes or cooked apples, includes coffee. Plenty of seating, locals all gather, hear about everything going on in town.

Great local spot to stop in for lunch or dinner. Definitely saw that this is the place to go for the locals. The waitresses were attentive. The menu had a great variety of options but more importantly the food is amazing! I would definitely stop by again!

Great menu and excellent food. My wife and I came here on my birthday and had the seafood chowder that could beat most that I have ever had. For dinner I went with seafood crepes which you do not see much, they were fabulous. My wife had the Seafood Trio and loved it. I wish this place was in Northern Virginia, would be my favorite place. The Owner came by and chatted for a while, super nice. Excellent experience!

Wonderful stop on Rt.17 business before the highway runs out of restaurants. Delicious food, quaint atmosphere. My family of four(two teen boys) stopped here for lunch to do something better than fast food. Boy did we make a good choice! We had the hamburger, Olivia’s Seafood Special(don’t remember exact name), crab melt, and crab sandwich with hard-fried oysters for an appetizer. We were thoroughly delighted. My only suggestions would be adding some French bread to bottom/side of seafood special and the top of the muffin for the crab melt(we requested both of these things and the server happily complied).

Three way tie between chicken sandwich, blackened chicken tortellini, and chicken parm. If I had to order again, I would choose chicken parm.

Buzzed in late, 850 P.M. On a Friday night. I think they were shocked to see our party of 10 and even commented next time we should call ahead. Lucky for us, a large group had just left. Our party ordered a bit of everything and it was all phenomenal. Chicken Parmesan came with a lasagna twist with Ricotta cheese. Lasagna was a very large portion. Surf and turf was delicious too. For a small up charge I tried the seafood chowder and it was incredible. My daughter’s blackened chicken tortellini was terrific as well. They even had a hamburger for my daughter. You can’t go wrong here. Very reasonable prices. Averaged out to be $ 15 per person including drinks. Owner came out and was engaging. Sounds like they make everything from scratch right there. Service was 5 star as well.

Food was excellent. Service so-so. Had to ask 3 times for extra lemon for ice tea. Never offered to explain specials or dessert

We found this place by accident walking through the town. One of the locals recommended it, and boy were they right. This is a quaint, little place with small town charm. The owner came up to us later in the meal and chatted for some time about Gloucester, VA. Just a nice guy. Anyway, the place is clean. Service is good. The food took a bit to come out, but the place was pretty busy at the time. We had the Clam Chowder soup to share(awesome), the crap cake sandwich(fried) — again awesome. I had the Steak Olivia’s(good if you like marinated steak) and my daughter had Angel Hair Pasta(huge serving). We also got a bottle of wine to share. All is all, it was a great experience and we will definitely be back. Thanks again to Gary(the owner) for the conversation. It was a pleasure meeting you.

Saw the reviews on Unilocal and stopped March 23rd. The meal was excellent. The waitress was very attentive and checked on us often. Our glasses were never empty. The owner even asked if everything was ok. We ordered the Santa Fe Salad, fish and chips and reuben. Sweet potatoes fries were great! I would highly recommend the restaurant.

I have only been to Olivia’s for Breakfast. I have no complaints! Each time we go to Olivias our waitresses cannot be more attentive and friendly. The food is always top notch. We have tried almost everything on their Breakfast menu and nothing disappoints. I love their Corned Beef Hash the best. My hubby loves their egg sandwiches. Their pancakes are Huge! But we did find those to be a little on the rubbery side. Couldn’t even really cut through them. But that was only once. However, because the rest of the food is so good, we won’t hold rubbery pancakes against them =) It’s a small town, so it is the small town type of service. Which I happen to love. Seat yourselves. Waitresses make you feel right at home. Service may take a little bit longer at times when they are busy but they make sure your coffee is always filled and hot.

I had the crab melt and my wife had the fried clam strips. Both were very good. Service was a little slow, but otherwise a great experience.

Went there on 12⁄26 and ordered their salmon platter along with a seafood soup. Told the server multiple times I don’t eat pork, yet she failed to mention they add bacon to the seafood soup. I figure if I just pick it out it will be ok, but it wasn’t. To say the least, the salmon was dried, the food didn’t have much flavor, and the soup although good, it was contaminated with pork. I got sick from it to the point I had to force it out of my system. Some of us have health issues, and they simply need to pay more attention to the customer needs. So, given that they can’t seem to pay attention to the customers requirements and the food was poorly cooked, I do not recommend this restaurant. This has been permanently crossed out from my list.

Highly reccomend to try this place. Came in after 8:30 pm. Immediatelly was welcomed by the waitress. Food was very good. Had a fresh nice salad. Shrimp and scallops pasta was delicious. Gary(the owner) came to the table, welcomed us. Then later came back and checked with us. Very nice touch. Definitely will be back.

I found myself down in Gloucester on business which happened to be at the fire station right next door to the restaurant. When we were done, the 4 of us(all out of town-ers) went over to grab a bite to eat before leaving town. While we were at the fire station, we noticed a fair bit of customer traffic coming in and out of the restaurant. I was pleased to see that there was plenty of seating available when we came in. We were promptly greeted and seated. Drink orders were taken and we were given a few minutes to look over the menu. Given the time at night(8pm) and the fact that we had to get on the road, we kept our orders pretty simple. They brought out some hot rolls, which were okay. I tried to order an Oyster Sandwich, but was informed they were out of Oysters. This can be taken as a good thing, cause they are THAT good… or a bad thing, cause they don’t plan the menu accordingly. So I opted for a Chesapeake Burger, which is just a regular burger topped with a crab cake. The waitress was spot on with the drink refills, and clearing the table. And the food came out relatively quick. The burger was cooked perfectly, the crab cake tasted like a crab cake should, but the bun on this burger… man, was that thing delicious! Perfectly toasted, and held together through every bite. The fries that accompanied the burger were okay. Nothing to rave about, but they served their purpose. While I did not taste any of the food of the people I was with, it all looked pretty tasty and in good portions for the price. And while someone else picked up the check, it appeared as though the prices on the menu were pretty reasonable. I’d give it more stars, but this was an impromptu visit, and we only sampled what are typical menu items. If I have the opportunity to go back down to Gloucester however, I will definitely be giving this place another try.

We were travelling to a family reunion and wanted to find a place that served local seafood and used Unilocal to find Olivia’s. We were not let down. We showed up during the lunch hour and were seated right away. The menu had something everyone wanted(family of 4). Burgers were large and delicious(daughter’s vote) My wife and I had seafood. She ordered the crepes and was not disappointed. I ordered the lunch special of fried clams and I believe I was the winner. They were fresh and prepared perfectly. The walls have local art hanging and clearly the staff knows everyone, very friendly. I wish I could get seafood like this in TN.

Arrived here at 1:30 pm, waited for 10 minutes to be seated, then didn’t even get acknowledged by a server until nearly 2:00. It is now 2:22 and our simple orders — Caesar salads, burger and club sandwich have still not arrived. Unbelievably slow. This was after informing the sever we were on the way to catch a flight. Food finally arrived, but only after we flagged the server and asked her to check. The food itself was good, but not worth the wait. Asked server to bring check which she just about flung at us. She never once checked back to see how things were.

A nice, cozy little restaurant on the quaint gloucester main street. It has a casual environment, that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The food was pretty good. Fresh and inventive with some unexpected menu items(that’s a good thing). The staff is certainly friendly and accommodating, but unfortunately I was part of a very big party and the kitchen was ill equipped to handle the demand, so the service suffered, albeit friendly. I had the seafood crepes smothered with cheese and lobster sauce. — Quite tasty — the crepes were very delicate and the sweet lobster sauce worked perfectly with the savory seafood and cheese.
