BEST WESTERN PLUS Glenview-Chicagoland Inn & Suites

This place shuts down their breakfast at 9:00 am, even on weekends. So, if you want to sleep in a bit (right next to the noise from I-​294) and get some breakfast once you get up, forget it. This is just being inconsiderate and cheap to the guests. But the rooms are not cheap. I’ve stayed at many other hotels for less money in the area with a breakfast that lasts until either 10 or 11 am. They get good kudos for nicely appointed rooms. I hope this place starts changing their policies to be more hospitable to their guests. They could be easily be a 4 – 5 star place but they choose not to be and don’t seem to care to improve. It’s not a good value for the money when they shut down the breakfast before you can get to it.

After a nightmarish layover (and several cancelled flights), our airline provided a voucher for us to stay at the Best Western Plus. This stay was the best part of our visit to Chicago. The gentleman who escorted us, via shuttle, was super friendly and promptly helped us with our bags when he arrived. Fil, at the reception desk, warmly greeted us upon arrival. When we got upstairs to our room, we were incredibly pleased by how clean it was. We didn’t have any deodorant with us, and when we called down, they gave us a complimentary stick of Secret. The bed was so comfy, the shower was clean, and the room was quiet. Best Western Plus for the save!

A very nice stop after a 14 hour drive from Philadelphia. The room was quiet even though it faced the highway. Very close to a few restaurants that were in walking distance which was much appreciated after such a long drive. The staff was friendly and the morning breakfast was included in the price. A fine continental breakfast for us as we were about to drive another 14 hours. Overall a fine experience.

This particular location was one of the most pleasant experience I’ve ever had at a Best Western hotel.
Major props to the quality of the beds. Very comfortable and relaxing which enabled me to have a good nights sleep.
The greatest perk is the continental breakfast here. It was above average and filled me up in the morning.
For lunch & dinner, TGI Friday’s & BurgerFi is conveniently located across the street. I believe there is also an asian noodle place in the same shopping center which is not too far from BurgerFi.
By the way this hotel also gives out special discounted rates through booking apps, so be sure to stay on a lookout for this. :wink:

We stayed six nights at the Best Western Plus and choice it for the price/​value and proximity to Wilmette where we had business and O’Hare.
Our king size room was a bit on the small size, but overall comfortable. Not a lot of storage for suitcases. I put mine under the sink in the bathroom and DH put his near the desk.
The room appeared to have been redone within the past year or so. Nice clean look and only noticed one piece of furniture that had been damaged.
The bathroom was a bit small. No soap dish for the sink. The soap dish in the shower/​tub was small and had an angle that meant wet soap kept slipping off. No room on the soap dish for even the small shampoo and conditioner. Perhaps minor complaints but noticeable and annoying on a stay of several nights.
Every time we stepped into the room there was an overwhelming «perfume» scent of too much air freshner. But fortunately it did not linger.
We were happy the first evening to see a popcorn wagon in the lobby. Not that it was great popcorn but a friendly, fun addition. However, the popcorn apparently is only available on Wednesdays. I can’t imagine being a kid and seeing that empty popcorn cart every morning in the breakfast room — and never getting any. Even the «big kid» in me was a bit disappointed.
The breakfast was the most disappointing part of the stay. Okay, it was «free» — but not really. Let’s face it, the complimentary breakfast is built into the price. Offerings included coffee, tea, and juice — the later from a machine. Only tried the orange juice and it was quite good for coming from a machine. Unfortunately, the last morning there was no orange juice. Being «out» of an item seemed to be standard for every day, no matter what time we had breakfast.
Hot dishes included make-​it-​yourself waffles, scrambled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs in tortillas, and hot dogs. Yes, hot dogs! The other protein options were yogurt and peanut butter. The yogurt was always the light kind which I do not like because of the sugar substitute additive. The bread options were «marshmallow» style bread or bagels. English muffins were available a couple of mornings and DH said they were tasty. They had several varieties of muffins. They were not quite «mini» in size — more like a third of a standard muffin.
A couple of days there was a bowl of nice sized apples. But another fruit option, perhaps cut fruit, would have been nice.
One attendant in the breakfast room, but she always seemed to be «behind» in restocking the items and wiping down the tables.
For the area, the price was reasonable. You get what you pay for … wish we had pushed our budget for the week and stayed at a higher end chain.

My first time staying in Glenview, Illinois for a meeting. It was a pretty short stay (just one night), but it was quite comfortable.
Upon entering, the staff was welcoming (and not absent like other chains). They pointed out all their fun amenities like complimentary breakfast and wireless access. This is always nice. They also have a great business center (where one can print out a boarding pass if necessary [or coupons– don’t judge]) as well as a gym. According to the manager, the building was recently built in November 2013, so everything is still pretty new.
As I entered the room, I was greeted by lovely sunlight and everything was quaintly in place. This is not a place where there are luxuries in every corner, but if you’re like me, only here for a night for a short stay in the burbs, this may be your best bet. I mean the toilet paper and tissues are not superCharmin luxurious, but it’s what one would expect at such a place.
It really had all I needed for a one night stay: complimentary breakfast, complimentary wifi, blow dryer, television, and walls insulated enough to let me sleep at night.
I don’t think it deserves 4 or 5 stars because the shads don’t pull shut on the windows. It’s a bit disconcerting having street lights shine in and sunlight during the early morning.
Oh, and the neighborhood is great for dining, so no searching for food! If I’m back in this neighborhood, I’ll probably not stay here even though it’s pretty convenient.
