Salishan Spa & Golf Resort

This was a spontaneous weekend getaway, and it was with every penny. We liked the secluded feel the buildings had. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Although clearly old, they were well maintained and the classic ’60’s aesthetic carefully preserved. We can’t wait to go back. Also, the in room dining’s gluten free pizza was out of this world.

The Salishan has been a favorite of ours for years; a place where we spend a couple of days relaxing on our anniversaries. No more. The updates are done, but this place is still too long in the tooth to charge what they do, even without the predatory «added charges». Clean, but old and run down. We were charged $ 25 for what most hotels consider part of the room charge (coffee, water, etc.). Door chain piece missing, minimal water pressure and temperature and we didn’t get maid service. Poor. Won’t go back. Mgmt can contact me if they want the details.

The only reason they are getting 2 stars is because of how the employees try to help. I am telling you we book a room 2 months ago ask for a bay view with balcony. Get there and get a balcony with a view of the grass. One of my girls is allergic to lots of grass so they help us switch rooms once she broke out.
Get to our new room no balcony, oh snap it’s 78 degrees in the room, let’s turn on the AC. Oh snap no AC!!! What your rooms have no AC…
We will get u box fans!!!
So now we have 2 — 2 year olds and a 10 yr old husky that we can go back to our room till the evening cause it is too hot in the room. I think motel 6 has AC units and don’t charge like this a night.
Not happy, great location, great outside activities, good employees and NOOOO A/​C

The renovation is done, the happy hour wine was fantastic, they offered us bar menus and happy hour menus. It is 4 stars because the happy hour menu has nothing healthy on it. Management has improved the place, we had a great time on the outside deck. They are now building an amphitheater behind the deck and above the driving range. This should be an exciting place to watch concerts and maybe wine tasting per our waitress. Now they need to get some good shops over in the Marketplace and it will go to 5 stars.

Came to stay over the Memorial Day Weekend to celebrate our anniversary.
My husband had stayed here about 10 years ago for a conference, and we were here to check out the resort to see if we would recommend this for a larger conference his company was holding in late summer. In two words, hell no! I would not recommend this resort… see the list below, it’s quite lengthy.
1. Checking in — people weren’t overly excited to do so. Apparently we are an inconvenience to them.
2. Parking in front of your room — if you drive a Mini Cooper, then you’re all set. For those of us who drive mid sized vehicles or larger, plan on parking some where else and schlepping your bags. The car ports have posts to separate the parking spaces making it a test of your parking skills not to ding the crap out of your car.
3. Decent room, but fireplace pilot was hotter than crap and you can’t turn it off. Runs on a low flame constantly. Temp control in the room doesn’t work, so we resorted to propping open our patio door to avoid roasting in the sauna.
4. Maid Service — was stayed 3 nights here. The first day our room was cleaned — but no shampoo, conditioner, or soaps were replaced. The dirty drinking glasses were left as is for us to use again, but hey, we got clean towels, so there’s a bright side! The next day, we didn’t leave our room until about noon, and headed out for golf and shopping. Returned to the room about 8:45 that evening, and I guess the maids just didn’t feel like cleaning. Maybe they were too tired from the half-​ass job they did the day before, perhaps? The room had not been touched in the nearly 9 hours we were gone. Guess we didn’t deserve, at 269.00 a night, to have the beds made, clean towels, and God forbid, some soap and shampoo!
5. Dining experience — this was particularly fun! NOT!!! Went to breakfast in the Sun Room, for the first two mornings. Extremely slow service the first day. The second day, we stood there for 10 plus minutes trying to catch the eye of a waitstaff or hostess (who was MIA from the hostess stand) while a line of 8 people waited behind us. We decided to leave after a waitress walked up to the hostess stand, put her finger in the air to signal «one minute», without staying a word, and disappeared into the mist. We elected to save ourselves from starvation and go elsewhere. Against our better judgement, we returned for lunch thinking it couldn’t be that crappy of service since it wasn’t busy. There were a total of 2 people in the Sun Room besides us. After a wait of 10 minutes, the waitress came over to see if maybe she could bring some food. We placed an order immediately, as we had a tee time. Fast forward 1 hour. ONE HOUR. My husband ordered a crab melt sandwich. Came out completely cold. After tracking the waitress down (another eternity) we thought we had better split my lunch so we could make the tee time. The waitress graciously agreed to take the sandwich off of our bill… and I’m saying that sarcastically, in case you couldn’t figure that one out! She seemed completely unconcerned that we had to split a lunch after waiting forever for it to be served.
After golf, we were told about the Memorial Day bbq that the resort was doing. 30.00 each for ribs, cooked to order steak, various salads, etc. It was a buffet — we could serve ourselves… so it would be ok, right? Wrong again. The steaks were made to order, so the chef said have a seat he would bring them over when done. We got all of the other stuff and sit down. Wait for over 30 minutes. No steak. Husband goes out to check. Chef says, oh yeah, have them right here! Stone. Cold. Want to put them back on grill. No chef to be found. Leave steak. Eat other stuff. No drinks for dinner. Finally track down waiter at end. He brings over drinks. Good thing we are part Camel, we didn’t thirst to death.
6.Golf — after our terrible experience, we thought golf would be a saving grace. Surprise, surprise, surprise, surprise! Wrong again!
Checked in for our tee time — and went out to our cart. Cart had no key. The cart attendant said that they «ran out of keys, so it’s already on the «on» position, so drive it that way. Salishan course has lots of hills — we thought we were going to have to Flintstone Style it to make it to the top. These carts struggled! We try to be good citizens on the course, and fill in our divots. Kinda hard to do when one sand container is empty and one has about an inch of sand in it. And if your tee time is in the afternoon don’t plan on getting any food on the turn. Closes down at 4. So, we were starved from having a half lunch, but we were able to talk the lady who was cleaning up out of a package of peanuts. But we couldn’t pay her for it, had to track down the course attendant, who doubles as a bar tender and pay him. Don’t try to call for tee time, they don’t answer phones. You’ve gotta go to the shop in person.
7.Spa — 19% auto gratuity! Surprise!
Too much money. They don’t care about you.

Checked in on Saturday, May 21^st at 3 p.m., my husband said that the front desk lady wasn’t all that friendly. Hello, over $ 200 a night, can you at least smile and be nice? :(
This hotel is not as great as they claimed to be, rather disappointing, really. The buildings are OLD, not well maintained, ALL THE FRONT DESK STAFF was not friendly… rather rude.
How hard is it to say good morning to your guests? :(
Although, I had breakfast buffet at The Sun Room, everyone was so nice, sweet and friendly there. So what’s up at the front desk? :(
I do like their Spa and the nature trail. :)
DON’T STAY HERE!!! It’s not worth the $!!! There are many better hotels…

Course is great. Great track and friendly golf staff. Course is really challenging. Played in early April so pretty wet and carts on path only which always sucks. Greens were a 10. Fast and true. Tough to find the ball in the rough and plugged a few shots in the fairway. Again, it was wet. Only reason this is not a 5 is the bar staff. No one at the bar at 10:30 in the morning. Golf pros took care of the beer but no bloody Mary’s. Couldn’t find the mix. At the turn waited 15 minutes for a bloody. Cook flipped out, through order tickets on the floor and started cleaning the grill. Still waiting for drinks. Finally walked out. Just guessing the dude won’t be there much longer. Frickin hilarious. Anyway, paid $ 62 with a cart. Worth the money for golf. Stock your bag with booze or order a drink from the guy we had and sit back and watch the fireworks.

We have gone to Salishan twice now, and we have loved it both times. The rooms are nice and clean, and the gas fire places are gorgeous! The covered walkways make for a nice walk to the lodge.
The restaurant in the main lodge was as good as the room. We each had a variation of eggs benedict, and they were delicious and generous in portion. Their lattés were surprisingly good.

I miss the Salishan for the first 10 – 20 years of its existence. I have no clue what the new owners are doing nor why? They had a chimney fire so had to complete fix the lobby and the library and the attic. Why in the world would they finally furnish it w/​mid-​century modern furniture that is not only ridiculous aesthetically, but also uncomfortable is beyond me. The mid-​century modern furniture is in the lobby, the sun room, and the attic lounge — weird x 3.
The food in the attic lounge is as mediocre as ever (and overpriced), though I do like the bartender.
This place was once THE place on the coast. I am rooting for the new owners to figure out how special a property they’ve got and do right by Salishan. So far, I’m not optimistic.

This place is amazing. I see a few reviews on here saying the renovations are a nuisance. We did not notice this whatsoever. Our room on the ocean was so beautiful that we literally did not leave the room the entire time except to visit the spa. The room service was quick and professional. The food was awesome. The local crab eggs Benedict are an absolute MUST. The spa in itself was a completely delightful experience. Get there ahead of time to utilize the amenities! The infinity co-​ed hot tub was so stunning. It’s located right outside on the bay, so you can watch the tide come in or go out, depending on the time of day. My massage was the best I have ever received. I would highly recommend this spa and resort to others, and can’t wait to visit again in the future!

Bought a three days stay here for Christmas and it was a beautiful experience. First: I’ve been to Lincoln city before but in summer time. This place is freezing in December! So cold! The property itself is massive! You have the lodge side of the property on the left of the freeway and the golf shop, spa, beach houses and private beach on the right. I don’t think I saw everything in my three days stay!
The lobby was big, rustic and very cold :) The rooms are massive! Much bigger than what I’ve seen from a lot of my travels. We got the room facing the golf course. Big balcony, beautiful room! Used up that fireplace like nobody’s business. So cold, I turned my room into a sauna! It was pretty cool.
Room: easily a four star room! I love the spaciousness and also the updated look. The king bed was wayyy too big! I do wish they have better pillows though for such a nice bed.
Parking: free outside your room. These are build likes mini condos. Comes with covered parking outside.
Amenities: love the keurig coffee! Heated floors in the bathroom. Plenty of toiletries replenished daily. Free water bottles helped too.
Hotel amenities: miniature golf and the stunning 18 hole golf course! So beautiful! I attempted to play on the big kid’s course but due to that freezing cold, I made it to hole 2: D! Gotta do whatever makes you happy! So I did!
Restaurants: this place had 3 restaurants and a bar. Our room was way up north to walk to any of the restaurants. So we did a lot of room services.
Room service: If you think about it: its pretty reasonable. They have all day menu, kids menu, lunch and dinner etc with wine list. Pizza was pretty good. I also had the mac and cheese: holy heaviness. It was cheese on cheese and baked. I had literally 2 bites! I’m sure I gained like a pound! Too rich for me! Oh yea: the room also has a microwave! So you can take your time eating food!
Also had the benedict, waffles etc. They were out of crab at 10:30 am! I settled for salmon benedict instead. it was a smoked salmon. A ok. Love how fast the delivery is though. And pleasant.
Pool & hot tub: this was the busy part! You’d think it’ll be quiet at night time but I guess everyone had the same idea! Came here around 10 pm and it was packed with kids, teenagers and parents! Different kind of Saturday night for sure. The pool was so warm! Hot tub was big marble one that fits about 12 – 15 people! it was a nice break from the cold! Downside: I got burnt in the hot tub! Badly! My skin was on fire after for a whole night. Perhaps chlorine? perhaps the heat! Not fun at all. We skipped going back after.
Overall, I love the property. You can stay in the room all day and not hear a peep from anyone if you choose to. it was fully booked but you rarely see anyone. Everyone’s polite. Food could be much better though. My pizza margherita had a pesto like sauce on it. Egg benny was a little too blend and cooked. Checking in and out had a long line. But it’s a perfect mellow place to get away from it all. Overall, its a 3.5 stars experience but I’m rounding it up for the comfort of the room!

We occasionally drive over for a getaway and/​or golf outing. Looking forward to completion of the remodel but it didn’t interfere with our pleasant stay.
Room was great, with a cozy gas fireplace. Staff in the Sun room, the bar, and front desk were all friendly and accomodating.
You will need to walk outside to get to the pool but there are many covered walkways and bathrobes are provided.
Certain rooms are pet friendly, and they are not substandard. Ours was very nice and the staff will make your pet welcome.

My husband was attending a conference here one weekend so I decided to tag along because I heard it was amazing. The first think I did was book myself a massage 10 days prior to arrival. I wanted to secure a spot because we’d only be there for one night. When we arrived at salishan we were greeted with yellow caution tape surrounding the entrance! I was appalled. As a «hotel/​restaurant management» graduate I knew this was a serious «faux-​paux». The whole lobby was under a massive remodel! I held my comments hoping for improvement. Unfortunately, it only got worse. In order to brighten my day, I decided to head over to the spa for an early check in. I was excited because the spa was beautiful. After giving the agent my name, and stating I was there for an early check in– she said «I don’t see you in our system», and she looked at me like I had three heads? I knew I had booked that massage, because I write it down and was REALLY looking forward to it. Nonetheless I walked away, with no massage.
I tried to salvage the experience, I set out to explore the salishan restaurants– it was lunch time, and I was hungry. Needless to say 3 out of the 4 restaurants were closed, despite it being lunch time!
So, before heading to my room, I decided to check out the gym. Well– if you’re athletic I’d urge you to for a run instead!!! The gym was like the worst run down 24-​hour fitness, surrounded by «belly-​up» gift shops that are supposed to comprise the «salishan shops». The gym smelled like a depository of used tires– And working out there might have done me more harm than good because of the toxic smell.
The golden lining is that I «yelped» nearest restaurants! I found the SIDE DOOR café! I had an amazing lunch for one– great wine, split pea soup, salad, and amazing dessert! My server Christian was great!
STEER AWAY FROM SALISHAN! They’re gonna go belly up like all their restaurants and shops around them!!!

My husband and I celebrated our 19^th year Anniversary at the Salishan Spa & Resort. It is quiet and peaceful and off the beaten path. The staff there is caring, friendly, & helpful. For lunch we decided to try the Salishan Restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised with the Awesome food and the Great service. However, it was our waitress who made our dining experience extra special. Our waitress took great care of us! Please let her know just how much we appreciate her!!! She is an asset to you Resort. Thank you Kelly B. for making our day

Excellent facilities! Our room was clean and looked newly remodeled. Appreciated the view and the lodgelike feel.

I got married here Aug 22, 2015, and I could not be happier with the experience. There was still some renovation going on (the newly done areas are beautiful) but they event staff made sure it was not overly visible. Its a collection of many outbuildings, spread out through a large wooded lot, so you can get lost at night, but its very neat.
If you visit to see if you want to have your even there, I will advise you not to put too much emphasis on the experience in either the Sun Room informal dining area or the nicer dinner space. The staff there are nice, but a bit slow. And the food is decent, but will not overly impress you. The definitely save all their all stars for the events. We had salmon and Chicken Oscar with dungeoness crab for 70 people, and it was excellent. I added on a prime rib carving station, being a midwesterner, and it was done perfectly.
The spa is terrific, the nature is beautiful. Our room was not yet renovated (they will be complete in a few weeks) but was still a huge, beautiful room). Its a bit out of the way, but worth it for something like a wedding or just a week to relax, golf, spa, and unwind.

We were told that we could check in early being that we were staying at the lodge for a convention. I called 3 days earlier to confirm and confirmed early check in. When we got to Lincoln City called to let them know else were in town. The checkin lady said we can’t check in till 4pm even though we booked two rooms.
We showed up well before 4pm & and they found one of our rooms and got us in right away!
Once in our rooms the rooms were great. The beds we super comfortable. The room was well appointed and very quiet. We didn’t even hear the people above us all weekend.
Other than the checkin process, this place is a 4 star resort all day!

I had never heard of this place, so when my friend suggested we go there for a Girlfriend’s weekend, I thought why not? They had a really great promotion that included breakfast, lunch, and a full massage.
My friend joked that the outside looked like a ad 80’s camp horror movie, but I was totally fine with it. The rooms itself are very spacious: we had a balcony that overlooked the golfing area, fireplace, microwave, internet, television, fridge, and a pretty nice bathroom. The beds were comfy and we didn’t have any issue with the room at all.
We then went to their lounge first and had a couple of drinks – try the Raspberry cocktail! – . There was some constructing going on outside when we were there but it didn’t bother us at all. Next we went to the fine dining hall, and the food was delicious.
The next morning we started out with a massage and I highly recommend it! Staff was helpful and kind, especially me having my first message. It gave us access to the whole place and you get a good view of the bay. It was a nice way to end our stay there.
I would say definitely go there, look out for promotions that you have, and enjoy!

The resort is situated across from Siletz bay in the woods. I love how the cabins are tucked in the woods giving you a privacy without the feeling of commercialized hotels. We had a fabulous view of the bay and the sunset from our room. I could hear the birds chirping, wind blowing softly, and watch the tides come in and out from my balcony whole rocking on the chairs. We enjoyed everything the resort has to offer; the spa with hot sauna and pool, jacuzzi; tennis courts, game room, putting course, basketball court, nature trail and the restaurant on site. The only thing that keeps the place from getting 5 stars is the overpriced spa across the street and the golf course. Made Seattle’s high end spas look like a bargain. But other than that, rooms were cozy with fireplace and great view. I could use a microwave and little more pressure in the shower. But Keureg coffee maker was handy to have. Covered parking spots close to your room is really handy. The service was great and accommodating.
Sunroom the restaurant was awesome, good food and friendly service. Pot Pie topped our charts with its sheer size of 9in plate and taste. The crust was buttery and flaky, and chicken pie was out of the world. I had steelhead on plank served with asparagus and basmati rice. The salmon was flaky and juicy, topped with tangy pineapple sauce. Husband has the ½ lb burger with brioche and it looked really good.
Overall, buying Groupon deal was the best decision I’ve ever made. The place reminded me of the resorts I grew up with without the feel of overcrowded or over rated resort towns. I would definitely come back again. The town is adorable with ton of restaurants with delicious food to eat out.

If you want a quiet getaway that’s upscale but secluded, Salishan is the perfect spot. Great for family and a romantic getaway with the love of your life. Great on site dining and amazing scenery. Very close to the beach, and they have their own private & gated beach. Rooms are nice and I love the balconies. We celebrated New Years here and it was great. Just a short drive from Lincoln City. On site golf course, swimming pool, and more.
