History

Established in 1975.

Francis Wong, DDS open the doors in 1975 and practiced general dentistry. In 1988 Fred Wong, DDS joined the practice and continued on after his dad retired in 2005. Blue Ocean Dentistry philosophy is to continually remain innovative in how it delivers dentistry and continue the dream that Francis Wong, DDS started many years ago. Our core philosophy that consistency and excellent services rendered generously, with the belief that treating our staff and Patients like they were in our home, makes the difference.

I had terrible tooth pain on my left top and bottom side and went in to see what kind of relief and treatment I could get. I know it’s always about the insurance but it was definitely all about the insurance first and not about my pain and suffering. As a gagger, I could not do the X-​rays without some nitrous oxide to relax me or something to calm me down. I was never offered any other solution and Without X-​rays nothing could be done. I paid immediately $ 250 to lock in an August 10 appt with concious sedation so I could do the X-​rays and mind you it was barely July 20th. So I was going to suffer another 3 weeks on aleve, Advil and oral numbing gel??? I would have overdosed for sure. They are a nice office with nice staff and dentists but I’m sorry, they made the visit feel all about business and their schedule and on top of that, their hours and days just don’t work for the average patient and then I had to wait like 10 days for me to get my $ 250 cash deposit into now a check… I found glendora dental arts and they do take emergencies and said I had one of the best dental insurances and focused on my pain and with a little nitro I was able to do the X-​rays and walk out with my temp crown and root canal done! No more pain and infection and sleepless nights with dentist fear.

I have never had a pleasant dentist experience until I started coming here. I’m young, and having to get a root canal on my front tooth doesn’t sound ideal at all. Dr. Fred completely took care of me. Most dentists I’ve been too have been quick to make assumptions, making me feel like I needed X, Y, and Z done and pay this much. Coming here, I felt comfortable and like I was in good hands. The staff is very friendly and wanted me to feel at home. The receptionists are super awesome as well!

If I had to describe Blue Ocean Dentistry and Dr. Fred Wong’s office in four words, I would say they are efficient, friendly, clean, and enjoyable.
WHAT? Are we still talking about a DENTIST’s office?!
YES. Let me explain why…
— Efficient: I kid you not, I have never had to wait to start my exam/​cleaning for more than two minutes. I came for a 6-​month cleaning today and they literally stopped me mid-​squat settling into a seat in the waiting room to bring me to the back. I didn’t even have time to respond to any texts or check on some emails – totally not complaining! I was in and out of the office in 40 minutes.
— Friendly: The front office staff, technicians, and Dr. Wong are wonderful! Also, they are mindful of the whole not-​being-​able-​to-​talk-​during-​cleaning thing, so they make the perfect amount of conversation without making me feel awkward.
— Clean: The office is very modern and each room has its own TV, of which they allow the patients to decide which channel to watch (I believe they have cable too)
— Enjoyable: Because of the previous three factors, I now no longer dread dentist appointments (I’m more motivated to floss too). I’ll be back on my next scheduled cleaning!

When I was 14, I was rollerblading and knocked my tooth clean out, dr Fred performed emergency dental surgery on me and saved my tooth! That was 10 years ago and he has been my only dentist since then!!! Dr Fred is caring, attentive and extremely skilled!!! This is the place to go for all your dental needs!
