The Residences at The Americana at Brand

I came in looking for a 2 bedroom apartment for a 12 month lease. The leasing office is rude and pretentious. I was told that nobody had time to show me anything. I looked around and saw 2 people in their offices by themselves. They couldn’t tell me what was available if anything. This place is not cheap but I was willing to pay over $ 40,000 in rent to live here for a year yet I was treated like dirt. No thanks. Needless to say, I went elsewhere.

I like it… I like it a lot. Being fortunate to have someone I’m very close to as a resident here, I’ve seen from behind the doors how nice and convenient it can be to live at The Residences. I visit often enough where I think I can accurately speak from experience and not merely from hearsay.
The indoor gym located inside The Marc building is nice. There’s a pool table and TV lounge area, as well. The bigger pool is also just outside the doors of the gym and there are 3 connected cabanas which can be reserved for parties by notifying concierge and giving a deposit. The showers/​restrooms are also located inside the indoor gym/​pool table housing. There are lounge chairs all around the pool. There is also a jacuzzi on one side & a couple of outdoor bbq grills at the far end of the pool deck.
The particular building I always visit has a room that can be reserved for small parties. I think it’s pretty genius in that you’re provided a space to entertain that has a full kitchen, big screen LCD, dining table and couch/​seating area for your party. It allows you to entertain without having to host it inside your residence. It saves the you the mess & cleaning it all up. Outside this reserved space are another 2 big bbq grills, a sitting area in front of a fireplace and a smaller pool just behind a gate. There are also restrooms across the way and for residents, there is a sauna and showers are there too.
Concierge service is really where I see The Residences at Americana shine. You can order food from an app (just for residents) programmed onto your iphone from the various restaurants. We’ve ordered everything from Cheesecake factory to Pinkberry. The restaurants bring it to your concierge in the building and then they bring it up. You dont need to tip the concierge or anything. It’s all part of the service that come with living there.
When you visit… Americana concierge always calls up, verifies you’re indeed a guest, validates your parking and escorts you to the residence. It really gives you a sense of security. There’s a certain comfort & peace of mind these residents are definitely paying for.
Everything that Rick Caruso and his people have built have been first class & the The Residences are no different. It’s really nice what they’ve brought to the neighborhood… It’s definitely not cheap to live there but you certainly get what you paid for. I’m just happy to be a guest every now and again. The concierge and valet know me very well by now and welcome me back each time… Haha. Pretty cool of them… I hardly see neighbors walking around. It’s surprisingly quiet. You do NOT hear any noise from The Americana or street below. I liked that a lot…

Came here to check out the Americana and ended up getting the tour for their apartments.
This place is really nice. As busy and loud the Americana gets, being in the residency is very peaceful. Pool, play room, and the grounds are nicely kept. It would be nice to lease if I were single. I am a family of four and I don’t know if my hubby would like to live here. But maybe as a getaway place to relax or throw host some dinner parties.

Moved in here a little awhile ago. Got good vibes the moment I walked into the leasing office. Stephanie was awesome… she was sweet and answered all my questions. I couldn’t ask for a better location to live. Great shops and restaurants are all basically downstairs… And they deliver food right to my door. Having a movie theater here is amazing. I pretty much never have to drive anywhere! I highly recommend living here.

Now, if I were 20 years younger and single, this might just be where I’d want to live. (First choice would be Belmont Shore area in Long Beach — but it doesn’t really matter because I’m married and a little older now) Anyway, lots of people wandering around, good places to eat, centrally located to a lot of places like freeways and Burbank airport, for example. Plus the area is really starting to change for the better. Long, long ago the nearby Galleria became a real dump and you’d find homeless people hanging around and the stores started disappearing because it just wasn’t bringing in the business that it did when it first opened.
Now, the Galleria is completely upgraded and with this living/​shopping/​entertainment center it’s just a nice place to be. Once you head upstairs into the residences, it becomes quieter than the bustling activity on the street level. Although, it can be quite noisy during certain events and weekends for those units that are facing inwards to the courtyard.
My friends unit that he purchased two years ago, faces east towards the old Masonic Temple on Brand. They are in the process of remodeling it also as they are many of the stores. Several new nigher-​end restaurants are also going in within a block or two of the Residences. Many of the shops offer big discounts to the residents of this place, so that’s an added incentive to hang around and shop or eat.
The décor inside is much like a 4-​star hotel (out of 5 stars — hey it ain’t no Ritz-​Carlton!), is very quiet and has staff (including a concierge) to serve you at the front door. Looks pretty secure also as there are only a few entrances and they are all card-​key activated. Not sure of the pricing of the units at the time of my friend’s purchase, but he said he a got a pretty good deal. Nowadays that could be completely changed. Okay enough of this place — let’s go eat!

I’ve been to the leasing office at the Americana before to ask for information, and everyone there was very nice and friendly. They updated me on everything I needed to know and made sure all my questions were answered. The place itself seems like a very fun and classy place to move into! You have literally everything close by and can go shopping any time you want, which is a huge plus for a girl like me! haha! I recommend you check it out!

The service here is horrible. I recently moved to LA and was checking out various apartment complexes, condos, etc. I stopped by this place as it looked nice and had a pretty good location if you dont mind living in Glendale.
I stepped in and was approached by the receptionist. She asked what I needed and I informed her I was interested in their property and wanted more information — type of units, availability, etc. She noted that everyone was busy and asked me to wait. Another woman walked by and asked her what we needed. I did not hear all of the conversation but apparently she was not interested in assisting as she walked to her desk and sat down. Another woman was helping another couple so was unable to assist. Fiften minutes later after she was done with them she approached us. During that time the other woman did nothing.
The woman was not friendly and did not offer us to sit down. She went through the units offered and then said she was unable to do a showing since it was late. She never offered brochures and did not seem to want to help. Not sure what is was but perhaps I was not dressed properly (jeans and polo shirt). The lobby and the women working there did come off prententious and judgmental.
Not my type of place.

Everyone always asks me how is it to live here!
So my wife & I are approaching our 3^rd Xmas living here! I have to say, living here has its perks! Rent isn’t too bad. Crowd noise not that loud.
–Food delivered to your door or anywhere you are at on the premises A+
–A short walk downstairs to shop A+ (Barney’s, JCrew) Though I wish there were others here.
–Pool area… nuff said A+
We might look into a two bedroom soon since my wife is pregnant!
Overall, a great place to live!

Ok so Living here I loved with somethings I would change… when I first moved in the rates were really good $ 1800 for an apt overlooking the fountain right above katsuya… I mean walking out of my balcony was amazing… now the apt. itself was good for a single person since it was small… now the closet was ridiculously small… It was a broom closet… I could fit a broom and a vacum in there… It was way to small, So I had to build closet space…
the bedroom fit a queen bed which I put facing the balcony so at night I could view the beautiful fountain… The internet connection sucked a$$!!! we had no other choice but to be with ATT and I hardly ever had my wifi working let alone watch tv… it was 95% of the times not working!
noise level was ok for me since I’m in my tweenties but it would get kinda loud on a tuesday night from people downstairs at katsuya yelling and partying lol
The gym was really small with 3 treadmills and towards the end of my stay they were out of order for a good month… they did provide ice cold water and if you were lucky you would find home made cookies in the lounge…
pool area… Sweet! you could order food have it delivered to you at the pool lounge and eat and lay out… paradise:)
Overall I loved the americana but its a good place to live short term. just to experince it… if your older or have a family and dont like noise or busy crowded places… this is not the place to live at.
I loved this place… but 4 stars for taking to long to fix things in building such as garage gate, gym equipment, etc:)
