Best dentist and staff hands down! Everyone is super friendly. The front office is run really well and the work done by Dr. Chen and the hygienists is excellent. Parking is easy and pricing is reasonable. Definitely recommended!

There was a time when I had a fear of going to dentists, and would stay away for years even, but since I found the dental office of Dr. Chen I have been going regularly for my checkups and dental care. The staff is friendly, accomodating, and very helpful. I am always pleased with the pain-​free, excellent dental procedures I have had at this office, and the dental hygienists are absolutely the best! Oh, and the television… I boast to my co-​workers that I am privileged to watch my programs during my procedures… this also is a plus for me.

This dental office is great. The first positive is the easy and ample parking in front of the office. Next, the office staff is friendly and helpful. Then, the dental hygienist is amazing. It was the best teeth cleaning I’ve ever had. But the cherry on top is the dentist Rosana Chen. She’s very thorough and knowledgable. Amazingly nice and concerned about how the patient is doing. I was very glad I found this dental office.

I was referred to Dr. Chen by my then girlfriend in the very early 90’s. Since that time, the girlfriend and I got married and brought our four children to Dr. Chen for regular dental check ups. I have nothing but high praise for the Dr. Chen and the office staff. Even when my wife and I moved from the Glendale area, we continued to be patients of Dr. Chen.

I have never had a worse experience with a dentist before in my life. As part of the process to be deployed to Antartica, I was required to get a set of full mouth X-​rays. As a person without insurance I prepared myself for the worst. The X-​rays were $ 240. Reasonable. Then he said he wouldn’t be able sign the necessary form until he contacts the organization or if I get $ 1500 worth of work that I DO NOT NEED. (I know this after seeing a different dentist) ABSURD! Additionally, the X-​rays were digital so they emailed them to me which I thought was going to be more convenient but turned out being a nightmare to print out. This man will try to rip you off. Do not go to him.

dr. rosana chen is thorough and informative. she explained what exactly she did, as she was doing it, often making sure you’re ok with her next step before actually taking it. she’s also very no BS, straightforward. love people like that.

Hands down the best dentist I have ever been to. Staff is incredibly friendly and professional. I no longer live in LA and I’m having a hard time finding a local dentist of their caliber. I miss you guys! Thank you for your hard work.

I love this place. The staff is incredible! They remembered me even though it had been over a year since my last check up. I had some trouble with my insurance and they worked very hard to help me sort it out. I also really love the TV’s at every station. It really helps pass the time and drawn out the sound of scrapping teeth. If you’re looking for a dentist, go here.

The receptionist, cleaning specialists, and facilities here are exceptional. They were the reason I really wanted this dental location to work out, but after being:
1 — Being hurt by the female dentist
The female dentist at Dr. Chen’s office filled a cavity for me on the weekend — and I’ve never experienced pain like that. She tried to minimize the Novocaine use. So she ended up giving me about 4 or 5 separate teeny tiny injections… in between her trying to drill the cavity! To this day I am still suffering pain in that tooth and cannot bite down on that side. But I’m too afraid to go in to get it fixed.
2 — Insulted by the main dentist
I’ve never been told I needed braces, my teeth have always been perfect… and I’ve been complemented on it. When I came here, Dr. Chen continued to refer to my «huge overbite» as to the reason he couldn’t repair my front tooth correctly. I mentioned how I didn’t appreciate him blaming my «huge overbite» and he would stop… for the moment. But the next visit he started right back up again!
3 — Repeat dental repair failures
I chipped the tip of my my front tooth in college, and it had easily been repaired at the time. A bit of it had chipped off again, so asked Dr. Chen to repair it. He did, but I could no longer bite properly (later I learned because he was adding too much filling in the wrong area) — and it ended up chipping again. So I went back in to have it fixed again. He blames my «huge overbite» — leaves the tooth a totally different length then its pair and says there is nothing he can do (even though the first dentist had done this without any trouble.) To try to fix it he starts sanding down the non fractured tooth to match! A few weeks later it chipped again, at which point I decided he would never touch my teeth again.
4 — Blaming tooth pain on me grinding my teeth
I went to two separate dentists since Dr. Chen to see if I really ground my teeth, but neither saw any signs of it. So be wary if he tries to upsell you on services you don’t really need.
I just couldn’t take it any more and stopped going. Dr. Chen tried to talk to me afterwards to fix things, which I appreciated, but he STILL continued to insult me and blame me for all the issues — inadvertently or not. If you get a weird vibe from Dr. Chen, just quit while you are ahead. If he doesn’t bother you, then stay — as I said the receptionist is a sweet heart, the cleaning specialists really know what they are doing, and you get to watch TV while they work!

Our family (2 adults + 2 toddlers) make a trip from SF to LA every 6 – 9 months to this dental clinic for our checkup and cleaning, need we say more?

I had a crown fall out on Superbowl weekend. My dentist office was open but refused to see me (Cunning Dental in Mount Clair) even though there was a Dr. in the office. They also could not refer me to another office so I went on Unilocal.Looked for a dentist open on Saturdays. I called a few but once I spoke to the office manager, Mamie this was the place for me. I explained my situation and even though this was a half day for the office and completely booked, They squeezed me in. She said there would be a bit of a wait but when I arrived and completed the paper work, I was taken right in. The dental assistant Mari was friendly and had me cracking up. The dentist, Dr R. Chen (A female dentist) was amazing. She was gentle and thorough and I think I found my new dentist. The location is deceiving. It looks like a hole in the wall and next to a cigar shop. The waiting area is small but its clean and once you enter the exam area is spacious and modern. I have never known a female dentist and I’m glad I found this place :)

After an awful experience at a kid’s dental place I decided to look for another office near my area. Other reviewers mentioned how well their children responded here so I decided to give it a try. I give them 5 stars for their customer service, flexibility, and dental techniques. Mimi, the receptionist, was able to give me a same day appointment for my daughter on a Saturday! We only waited about 10 – 15 minutes in the waiting room before they called us in. Let me say that Dr. Rosana Chen is awesome!!! My 5 year old daughter went in for a baby tooth extraction and she explained what she was doing step by step. She took the time to make my daughter feel comfortable. My daughter loved it there so much that she even says she wants to be a Dentist when she grows up. After the appointment Mimi took my daughter the toy bin to pick out a small toy. My daughter looks forward to seeing the dentist every 6 months now. My husband and I were so happy with the service provided here that we also switched to this dental office. I recommend this office for both adults and children.

I’ve been coming to Dr. Chen all my life. I love this Dentistry. They are amazing. Wonderful staff, and they all do a terrific job. Love love love this place!

Had a dental emergency with my 4-​yo (who was terrified of dentists to death). 3 times we’ve tried taking her to our regular dentist, but ended up with nothing but screams and tears. We were expecting the worst this time around as well, but like in some supernatural movie, the overwhelming welcoming attitude of Dr. Rosana Chen and the staff took over, and my daughter just followed the nurse into the office and got into the chair. After 15 minutes of in-​chair cartoons, x-​rays and full exam we were referred to a specialist who confirmed the severity of original diagnosis.
Bottom line — super friendly, helpful and pleasant guys!

I was there a couple years ago after my aunt recommanded him to me. The first day was x-​ray for the full mouth, then immedately other «businese lady» come in the room for the price list. wait… don’t you want to tell me what’s wrong with my teeth? She act like used car sales, talked about deep cleaning… Tell me I am a fool, I went back for second time cleaning, and wait for 45 mins and finally walked out forever!

I’ve been going here since I was 5 or 6 and my parents had been coming for years before that based on someone elses recommendation. Even when I moved to Orange County, I continued to trek to Dr. Chens dentistry after multiple uncomfortable visits with other dentists.
Their hygienists have these amazing tricks to make X-​rays amazingly comfortable and don’t do those awkward conversations most people try to start.
After 20 years of entrusting my teeth to Dr. Chen, I felt it was time to get a review out.
Their staff never forgets a patients face, name, and even their pets.

OK so I hated dentists since I was little. I was horribly traumatized by a dentist when I was 6. all I can say is it was a pretty expensive place and they did not use anesthesia plus they would not let my mom or dad in to hold my hand. With that I have only gone to dentist when I really had to. My husband actually found this dentist and with him by my side holding my hand we visited Dr. Chen. OMG such nice staff and Dr. Chen himself is so cool. They are so accommodating. When you walk in you are greeted by either Mayme (I know I am spelling her name wrong… sorry) or Marie then you wait less then 10mins to see Dr. Chen. All the staff that works there are so nice. From the girl who takes the X-​rays to Ada who does teeth cleaning. I love the fact that while you are in the dental chair they have like these little flat screen TV’s you can watch. It’s not like other places where the channel is set they actually hand you the remote so you can flip around and yes they have cable. All in all I love this place. Dr. Chen recently removed himself from our dental group, but we love it so much that we still go even though it’s more out of pocket.
