Spisak Dance Academy is proud to be Arizona’s oldest and most established dance school while staying up to date with the latest trends. We train each student equally and help them develop their own passion. We offer Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Modern styles of dance. We teach all ages and our students help them learn the basic skills of self-​awareness, self-​esteem, confidence, and the ability to express themselves. Dance lessons are life lessons!

History

Established in 1960.

Teaching ballet on her screened-​in back porch in the desert town of Wickenburg, Ann Spisak began a 55+year career as a dance educator for thousands of Arizona children and adults. Founding the Jataba Dance Troupe in 1980 to fill a void in the northwest valley, the Troupe has produced «The Nutcracker» production for 34 years. Spisak Dance Academy maintains its mission to offer dance education to children of all ages.

As the owner and director of SDA, April still works closely with her mother, founder Ann Spisak, and the award-​winning staff. They all share their love for teaching the art of dance to all their students.
