Sloan & Sloan School of Dancing

This is a big, beautiful dance school that fully occupies a vintage building. They specialize in standard, latin and American smooth. The charming owner, Ken Sloan, was a world-​class champion dancer in his heyday. They have group classes a few times a week and will schedule private classes and coaching at your convenience. They will accompany students to competitions. I am really surprised that this place is not overflowing with students – I don’t believe they advertise very much. There are three teachers on Ken Sloan’s team: Yuri, Anna, and Kim. Yuri and Anna are absolutely top-​notch coaches/​performers/​competitors and you need to ask for one of them if you need private lessons/​training.

The Sloan and Sloan School of Dancing is one of the oldest Ballroom Dance studios in California. It was established in 1974 by Ken and Sheila Sloan, at that time the United States Ballroom Champions.
The studio has a European touch to it, classy and elegant. The ambiance is warm and welcoming. Every student and instructor is like part of a large family.
It is my favorite studio to work at !!!

In preparation for our wedding, we had private lessons with Kim Clark at this studio and she is amazing!
Kim taught my husband how to ballroom dance and she choreographed the most memorable first dance to «Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off». People came up to us and couldn’t stop talking about how cute it was. We actually did a routine where I chased my husband and he chased me… and he was totally into it as this little mini play was being danced out on our dance floor. I’ll never forget her patience, creativity and ability to teach a husband who loves to freestyle but couldn’t count steps!

I absolutely love this place.
The instructors are professional and very patient. This coming from someone who has no previous dance experience. They make dance fun and exciting, and I can’t wait to go back.
