Silver Spur Stables is lovingly referred to as «the barn I was raised in» with Susanne being my «barn-Mom», my manager & my captain. I have seen many changes through my 20 years of riding off and on at this barn and one thing remains constant, Suzanne’s passion for horses and her facilitation of others passions. The horse world can be remarkably clique and exclusionary. Silver Spur Stables provides a friendly environment for new & young riders to have fun while being introduced to the life long passion of horsemanship. If you were looking for a pristine barn where there are no shavings in the barn aisles or your bazillion-dollar imported show horse will suffer a prolapsed rectum at the sight of a child with birthday balloons do everyone the favor and don’t come here. If you want to be safe, have fun while learning and not take things soooo seriously this might be the barn you too call«home»(if as they say«home is where the heart is» & your heart is where your horse is.).

This stable is negligent due to the dust emitted into the neighborhood, which is in violation of Glendale’s Commercial Stable Code 6.12 *** «6.12.140 Nuisance conditions prohibited. Any operation or use of any property as a commercial stable, riding stable, riding academy, private stable or public stable shall not make, cause, suffer or permit to be made or caused, any unnecessary noises, sounds or vibrations either of a continuing or of an intermittent nature, or produce, cause or emit any dust, fumes, odors or vapors which are annoying to persons of ordinary sensitivity or which are so harsh or so prolonged or unnatural or unusual in their intensity, time or place of occurrence as to occasion discomfort to the inhabitants of the city or any number thereof.» In comparison to other stables, they are not treating their grounds properly to keep dust to a lower level. Drive by at dusk. You’ll be amazed at how the riders disappear in the giant dust bowl that is their stable. Please fix this problem Silver Spur Stables.

Amazing barn. I have boarded three horses here for 7 years and have lived next door for three… I am there almost every day and I can assure you that most of these horses are ridden or exercised regularly… unless they are unable to be excersized… how anyone can walk through a place and make an accusation that the horses don’t get out is bizarre… all of the horses and other animals are loved and well taken care of… the barn manager Suzanne is wonderful and loves animals very much… she is passing that love and care to my children as she has become like their grandmother… if you like a spotless, cold, snobby barn this is not the place for you… it is a lovely, warm, special place that has become home for me and many others…

UMmmm. I went to check it out today because we were in the area and wanted to check it out for fun. As soon as we saw the sign that said 4 horses have strangles we headed for the exit. But the barn manager came running up and took us on a tour. The barn was really dirty and crowded. She mentioned it could hold eighty horses but the facility was tiny. All the horses lived in stalls and it was obvious only have of them were ridden. The place was overall scary. I felt so bad for the poor horsies and other animals there. I will definetly steer clear of this place! Avoid as much as possible. I highly do not recomend it! YIKES!

My daughter started taking lessons a year and a half ago. She started leasing a great horse a year ago. My daughter is almost 14 now. It’s a great place especially if you have kids/teens. The barn manager Suzanne is great.

I board my two horses here and it is a very nice little family stable with great access to the trails. The place is kept pretty clean, and they have reorganized some things so it’s looking really nice. The atmosphere is laid back and pretty friendly and the management is very nice and effective. The only negatives: –Most of the kids are very well behaved, but not all; I found a bunch of gummy bears in my horse’s trough and that upset me a bit. –They feed alfalfa cubes, I wish it was alfalfa hay But other than that this is a really nice place to keep your horses in an amazing location.

My friend boards her horse here for about $ 400. A little dirty. They share a tack room. A plus is that its next to the trails, but the riding arena is quite small.
