Personal coaching, or life coaching, is a developmental process via which an individual is supported while achieving a specific personal or professional competence result or goal. It is a continuing partnership in which the coach provides support, asks questions, and offers perspective to help the client make the positive changes he or she wants to make. As your coach, I will ask well-​placed, focused questions. I will encourage, challenge, empower, and support you in uncovering your truth and getting what you want. You set the agenda and ask for what you want. I am on your side and will actively listen to you and help support you in your path towards reaching your destination. I will hold you accountable and help you achieve your goals and be successful.

History

Established in 2014.

Charles Shute is a high school guidance counselor for the Peoria Unified School District. He has a master’s degree in counseling psychology that includes a school counseling certification. He has been working as a counselor for over 10 years and has experience working with teens, adults and the elderly. He has worked with a variety of mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, grief & loss, substance abuse, PTSD (post-​traumatic stress disorder), personality disorders, etc. He has enjoyed working with people and the challenges that lie with counseling. He got into coaching because, (in the words of Phil Towle) he wanted to «start working with people’s dreams instead of their nightmares.» He has a strong desire to help people achieve their goals, be successful and find happiness.
