To say I am not impressed with their so called service is an understatement. The igniter switch on my water heater broke so I called this company to come and replace it since they were the ones who originally installed it. The next day the tech came out and told me the part was broken and needed to be replaced. I had already told him that. 4 days later this very common part came in. The whole time we are without hot water. When the part came in the tech came out the next day and installed it in about 12 minutes. The water heater still did not work that night because the tech installed it wrong. I made another appointment for them to fix it and the tech did not show up in the 4 hour time window we were given. We would have been without hot water for yet another day had I not called J De Los Santos Plumbing & Rooter. Jimmy at Los Santos came out and reinstalled the same part and the water heater fired up right away. When I called Payless to tell them what happened, all I got was attitude from some kid who did not care what I was telling him at all. My advice, if you like cold showers for days and waiting for a tech who does not show up during his 4 hour time frame and when he does, installs parts incorrectly, then this company is for you. If not, find someone else.

Found ourselves suddenly without hot water when the old 40-gallon tank started leaking, but Larry Johnson at Payless was out the same day we called, and fixed us up with a recently-released Noritz EZTR40 tankless heater. I was a bit skeptical at first because of the relatively high cost, but they got it all done same day, and we had a nice, hot shower that evening. I’m happy with the purchase. It should last considerably longer than a tank version, and it’s over 91% efficient! meaning we’ll save a little on gas for the next many years. Finally, it freed up a lot of space in our cramped garage, and is a much cleaner, less intrusive install than a large tank would have been. Thanks Larry; I’m convinced it was the right decision.
