To start off with, this restaurant has the best food ever, hands down. From the owners, to the waiters, everyone is kind and treats you like a special guest. I recommend everything on the menu because what ever i ordered was very tastefull. They also do catering and special events, which is awesome. The have laser lights and a stage. Definitely will be back!!!

So I just had their lamb for the second time and both times it was the best lamb Ive ever had in my life. This was the first time my wife has had it, and she now understands why I’ve been raving about it since the first time I had it. My one year-old son literally kept screaming at me at the dinner table to give him more of my lamb which I was reluctant to do but did anyway. My five-year-old daughter, who likes virtually nothing that doesn’t have to do with a refined sugar, also loved it which is nothing short of a minor miracle. Harut is THEMAN… He recommended I ordered the lamb in the first place, and this time when I showed up without any cash he let me go home and eat the lamb and then bring the cash back afterwards. Amazing food and amazing service. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed this place while I stopped by the next door laundromat. It was really really good. The lamb. I killed it. And I enjoyed the grille tomato and onions/peppers. Everything. I do recommend this place and everything was fresh. Yummy.

Let me start off with the food and then the story… The food is really good traditional Armenian food. Am staying in Glendale for about two weeks and have been here a lot of times. They are also very accommodating to my phone calls just before they close on the way back to my hotel starving of course. Now for the story there is always a good story that can add to finding a place. In this case it had to do with sitting of all places starbucks across the street. All of a sudden an older man with a stern presence walks into starbucks and orders a coffee and walks across the street into Old Yerevan Restaurant. After seeing this serious looking dude had felt must try this restaurant because that guy is serious looking that the food must be good. Come there one day and meet the wife and son and uncle sitting outside at an off hour. Had placed my order and started to speak with them. Absolutely charming however have not seen the serious man from the other day. Another day walked in and waited for my take out outside and sure enough he was there. He was the husband and that is how the story goes. We found a place that has good food made by good people. Seriously(pun intended) this is a great place to dine at. If you see this serious looking man almost mean just say Michael from NY mentioned that it takes a serious man to make Good Armenian Food! God Bless.

There are a lot of Armenian owned restaurants in Glendale but only a few serve real Armenian food. And the ones that do, present their business as Armenian and Persian cuisine, sometimes even Greek, Arabic, Russian, etc. So I don’t go into those expecting to have authentic Armenian food. And the Armenian restaurants with Las Vegas casino names, or French names that they can’t even pronounce just seem like a joke to me. So a friend suggested that we had our dinner at Old Yerevan tonight. I had never been here so I was excited to try it out. I tried their beef kebab sandwich and I think it was one of the best kebabs I had in a while. Finally I found a place that makes kebabs the real Armenian style. Most restaurants that claim to serve Armenian kebabs actually serve Persian style kebabs. The difference is, that Persian kebabs have too much spice and extra flavor when the Armenian is more concentrated on the freshness and quality of the meat and the way it’s prepared. And this place totally met my expectations!

This place is horrible! I am a female, I walked in to place an order to go and the manager wouldn’t stop starring at me like I was naked(I was in tights and a hoodie) it was a very strange environment and I was honestly scared. After I put in my order he approached me and put his arm around me asking for my phone number. VERYUNPROFESSIONALANDINTIMIDATING. I would never go back again.

Really good fresh food! I had the chicken kabob with rice. Chicken super juicy and flavorful, rice delicious. Clean and elegant inside. And the personnel is super sweet and personable!

We were the only patrons dining in tonight, which made me wonder what the experience might entail. We were pleasantly greeted and the server kindly answered all of our questions about the menu. He also told us that they primarily do catering and banquets and just began doing online orders for take out. For my meal, I selected the sturgeon plate which was presented well with lemon slices on top and came with a very sweet pomegranate sauce on the side for dipping the fish. The sauce was unique and beautifully complemented the fish. I also thoroughly enjoyed the accompanying buckwheat and mushroom side in lieu of rice or fries. I was very satisfied with the flavor and would order it again! My boyfriend ordered the Old Yerevan Combination that included beef luleh and chicken also with the buckwheat and mushroom side rather than rice or fries. He enjoyed all of his meal and commented that neither meat was dry and they each had good flavor. Our total check was about $ 30 and was well worth it, as the quality of everything was so good when compared to the many middle eastern restaurants we have eaten at in the area. We were definitely pleased with our dinners!

we wanted to try something new so of course Jill consulted her trusty Unilocal app. Old Yerevan, here we come. we were both pretty hungry and just wanted to pick something up that was easy and cheap. we thought it would be pretty easy to do that here but it turns out, we were going to have to wait 30 mins– and there was no one else there! i wasnt happy about that just like i wasnt happy about the price. we went and ran some errands and came back to pick up our food. once we got home and i saw what we got for the price, i was even more unhappy. but, once i started eating all of that went away. yummy! let me know if you wanna know more…

I ate here tonight after randomly asking workers at Big 5 where I could find good Armenian or Lebanese food and discovering that the owner of Old Yerevan was behind me in line! It was me and my two young daughters and we all loved everything we had. The food is all made fresh to order. I am a vegetarian and had the best greek salad I have ever had, an amazing eggplant caviar and delicious yogurt dip and hummus! Also the owner could not have been more accommodating. When I asked if they had any Armenian desserts, he said no but then brought out Russian cookies he had in back for himself! So kind and my daughters were thrilled. Definitely very worthy of a visit!

Asside from my mama & nene’s cooking, this is some good heart & tummy warming armenian food. The lady who serves is lovely. The rice is so good & moist, i love how they serve fresh onions with the luleh kabab. Also the tomato sauce was off the hook. I thought maybe the owners were Armenian from Iran because the luleh kabobs looked exactly like koobideh. I went during the day on a sunday so it was slow, i wonder if business is better at night because i saw they have disco type lighting on the cieling. Its a good cozy restaurant, u leave really full, the portions are HUGE. i felt bad because my friend and i only ate one entrée and a toubeleh salad. We shared both bcuz we knew it would be a lot of food, but we left a very generous tip. I would definitly come back when im in town again.

This place is in a shopping complex hidden away in the corner. This Armenian BBQ Restaurant was so delicious I love their pork ribs. Not to be confused with southern ribs slathered with sauce this has a dry rub on it, is not smoked & No sauce. It’s so good with the Armenian Rice Pilaf. Try this place out if your near by. The prices are reasonable, location is easy to find & parking not a problem plenty of it.
