North-West College – Glendale

This place is ridiculous. I am trying to drop the online course and I went in several times to explain to them that I was just not getting it. Turns out they started me late in the class and told me «There is no beginning and no end!» doesn’t make any sense to me.
I have never done vocational college like most new students so I didn’t know the learning structure. They finally explained it to me AFTER they took my money and then say «Well it’s called non-​traditional education for a reason. Ha Ha» Well guess what, no one has ever explained these things to me prior to my enrollment soooo thanks for making me feel like an idiot. If I knew how this school works I wouldn’t have applied.
The learning structure is completely disorganized and they never have a straight answer to your questions. I ask black and white questions and get gray answers.
Also they ask for feed back but when given to them it’s like they don’t really care about your opinion and make it as if you don’t know what you’re talking about. Why do you say you love feed back if you can’t take constructive criticism?
I tell them «I don’t even know the definition of a medical biller.» and they said if it’s not on a test don’t worry about it. DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT??? Don’t worry about knowing the definition of your career? Now that I have been trying to drop, they made me speak to about 4 different people and I had questions that are STILL not answered. They aren’t able to confirm what they have told me over the phone so I learned to get everything in writing and now that I am guess what? THEY ARE IGNORING MY EMAILS. I have to email them EVERYDAY maybe twice just to get a response.
They are all nice and helpful when you enroll but after that you are left to survive on your own. Completely unprofessional.
Don’t waste your money at this location.

Okay before I start, @Missy S., if you look at her total of 3 reviews, she gave ALL three, 1 star… hater…also doesn’t know what she’s is talking about. I will further explain.
To begin with her dilemma of being too expensive, no one is asking you to join the school, you willingly join, considering your financial situation. On top of that, the school does its best to help you save money, you can write an essay that will save you 2k, you can get a loan with a respecitvely good interest rate, you can apply for fafsa, etc… either way there are ways you can get help, (I personally know two people who are saving practically 5k off their tuition…) and again, if you know you can’t afford it then don’t join so you don’t complain about the price/struggle…common sense.
If you have an attitude about the employees at this school not being magicians, then you can understand that you have to put it effort from your own end in order to achieve what you want. If you actually help your counselors rather than relying on them for your every need, things get handled a lot better and faster. Wendy tries hard to help A LOT of students join a good interneship and work their way from there, a lot of people end up getting hired after their internships, again though, its about your attitude, the more you try and care, the better for you. Besides all this, if you are here to land a job, this school is not for you. This school is here to educate people in the field they wish to learn, and help people achieve a career. So that you can apply your knowledge for something you actually care about and enjoy.
As to my experience here…
Well let me say it was not exactly what I expected, but not in a bad way at all. I am taking the medical insurance billing program and will be primarily speaking on that. My teacher is awesome! She’s sweet, kind, extremely smart, and has a lot of experience in different areas of the field. She does everything to help you pass, if you apply yourself in and out of the classroom, there is no excuse why you shouldn’t understand and even succeed. For a coding/​billing job you can expect to learn Anatomy, CTP, ICD, insurance and other technical subjects/​terminilogy; all of which are being covered so far. (I am almost 7 months in). So the education is there, that’s if you care enough to learn it and apply it to your future.
The location is fine, the facility could be better, I’ll give that 4 starts, but honestly, you’re not sleeping here. You’re coming to class for about 4 –5 hours and learning. They are perfect for who you need. In my perspective the worst part about the hardware of the school are the keyboards for the computers, just those buttons drive me crazy, but I’m not complaining…
Overall, I think people have the wrong expectation when coming to this school. In general if you go to, mostly, any community college, you will not expect anything close to the opportunities that you get at NWC. They give you a solid foundation to the health field and the intimate setting helps you even more as a student, letting you have direct access to teachers and tutoring and all sorts of other perks. Of course this all comes with a cost, but if you work hard and find yourself a job, (the school does help), you can pay back your loans in a fear amount of time.
P. s. I’m interested to see what their RN program is going to be like upstairs on the second floor, in 2016.

Your statistics and numbers dont mean anything to me. I still have a giant loan to pay the government, with no income. This school is the biggest scam.

Never attended this college but my mom goes here for dental assistant. Her teacher Ms. G is one of the coolest teachers i have ever met while going to my moms class so my mom could experiment on me what she learned lol my mom loves her and her class. I dont know about the whole school in general but i will recommend Ms. G’s dental assistant class to anyone based on my moms and my experience!

I have a great experience at the Glendale campus. Mr. Vik always helps me and the students on campus. Everyone on campus is friendly and my teacher is great.

North West College is a complete lie, thief, and not what you expect from this type of a vocational school. There were already issues and problems with the staff and students since I started. Majority of the courses didn’t appeal until I saw Pharmacy Technician. The program breaks down to 8 modules and internship at the end of the course. Again, the staff was rude, late, or some days did not show up to class. The school was trying to look for another available professor to teach. The overall courses and learning has been a complete joke.
I have several reasons why I have an issue with this school and present: ONE) They (North West College) screwed up on my Pharmacy Technician application with the money check that needs to be cashed in TWO) There were delays and late processing due too errors and lost papers, etc… THREE) I’ve waited patiently and asking questions about my status and ability to work, it took about 7 ½ months to get my Pharmacy Tech Certificate in the mail. So disappointing. I lost my opportunity at USC.
DON“T EVER FALL FOR ANOTHER FALSE AND BULLSHIT VOCATIONAL SCHOOL LIKE NORTH WEST COLLEGE.

I’m still student of DA at north west college. Been here for almost 3months now. First of all the 5 star goes to the teacher of DA (Ms G.)who does not have enough equipment, or medical supplies but she will do anything to teach you everything, she has a lot of experiences. So this rating goes to her not the college.
If your looking for a fancy college with fancy stuff this college is not for you. The other staff, honestly they are not organize. the restroom smells bad and cafeteria is dirty.
But I’m not here for this stuff I’m here to learn something.
Honestly if I didn’t have this teacher I wouldn’t stay in this collage for a sec.
Overall if they fix the restroom, get more useable equipment, and medical supplies it’s fair for what you paying for.

Please save your money and go to another vocational school. I came here a couple years ago to obtain my pharmacy tech license. The courses were bs, the final test was bs, and everything about this place stinks. I don’t understand how this place is still in business. In the beginning (when they’re taking your money) they GUARANTEE to find you a job but they don’t take the time to explain if they can’t find you a job the first couple times they’ll give up and move on taking someone other persons money. Waste of my time and money.
