She is the absolute BEST at extensions! It is beyond amazing and the results are flawless each and every time.
Her blending techniques are beautiful and her advice is always on point. Thank you for giving me the hair that God truly meant me to have. (No offence Big Guy.).
There is no one else I will ever trust to my extensions: sandwiches, keratin or micro-​bead.

I have been going to Maria for over 3 years, now. She does an amazing job with color and cuts and my hair is so much healthier since using her as my stylist. I’ve also had extensions which she blended perfectly with my own hair. She is very punctual and sweet. I always look forward to my appointments and leave happy. Highly recommend her as a stylist.

The best thing about Maria is not only her advices and tips but the way she carries herself with her clients. The relationship she establishes with you is always memorable. Her opinions is what I take into consideration and I’ll be honest I’m one of those Costumers that never knows what I want with mu hair but Maria always gives me the real truth of what the outcome may be. She has such passion that when she works, you feel the energy being transferred into her craft. Maria is a great hair stylist who knows what she is doing. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

It’s always so hard for me to find someone you trust, especially when it comes to my hair; it’s super thick and hard to manage, so the idea of someone I don’t know coming at me with thinning razors always is scary… I’ve ended up with a mullet one too many times at the hands of the inexperienced; but not Maria! She’s is a pro and always has great deals!
I’ve been seeing her for 5 years now and she will always be my girl. We’ve done drastic color changes, smoothing treatments, extensions, everything! She’s never disappoints. Her talent is only matched by her sweet personality. She’s really a winner, folks.

So i recently booked an appointment with Maria Blankenvoort after i saw one of my girlfriends that got color and extensions, (I swore it was all natural), She knows the pains I have had with previous stylists, and recommended I go see Maria, at Ala Mode Hair Salon in Glendale. She swears by her, but i was still skeptical because I am hard to please. and I always leave disappointed with fewer dollars than I walked in with. So I took the plunge again… and all I can say is thank you thank you thank you to my new bestie!!! lol And thank you Maria!
I have dark strawberry blond hair naturally, or as I like to describe it: brownish reddish blondish. And I’ve had my share of coloring disasters. Many people want to make me a blond or a full on redhead and don’t understand what it is I am looking for. I want my natural hair color, enhanced.
Maria got it!!! She loved my natural hair color and she was not trying to completely alter it.
Maria and I were on the same page!!!. My highlights and cut (love the cut she suggested) turned out great, exactly what I wanted… Very subtle and natural. Sun-​kissed looking. She was conscious of not using products on my hair that would bleach it out, or cause those skunky-​looking pieces, another one of my highlighting peeves. Can you tell I am a little bit anal about my hair color?
For the amount of time and effort she put into making my highlights perfect The price was fantastic (I wont say cause I don’t want my friends to know, cause they think i paid a million bucks! and I got a new client discount hehehehe bonus!). She also did a deep treatment and my hair felt absolutely great afterwards and for anyone who doesn’t know, apparently south american girls got the inside 411 on the treatment thing!
When I walked in I was greeted by Maria and from the moment she welcomed me I knew i had come to the right girl, if I could have just a piece of her style I wanted it! The salon was clean, professional and tastefully decorated, (another must for me lol) and i was offered my choice of coffee, tea, snacks and wine was a short (did I say short?) distance away if I wanted ++++++++++!!!
When I told my mom about my experience, she was in shock that I was excited, instead of crying, over how my hair turned out.
In conclusion, if you want to look hot and not cry, go see Maria at Ala Mode…

LOVE LOVE LOVE this girl! I have been going to Maria for about 8 years for extensions, color, and haircut. We always have great conversations, it is never a dull moment. I too want to change my color often, from black to blonde and blonde to black. She does a treatment on my hair after the color She always makes me happy with the results. Her extensions are the best! I get the keratin extensions and they always look marvelous. I must admit there was one time where I wanted an ash color and it didn’t come out how I wanted to look. Maria schedule me in to fix the color and she did an amazing job. She always makes me feel welcomed!
She also makes me the best coffee every time I go!!!

Maria takes her time, gives you her honest opinion and does an impeccable job! I always get tired of my color and want the impossible but Maria makes it possible! She will offer a treatment if she feels that your hair will need it. I never felt rushed or neglected, which happens sometimes with some stylist. If your looking for a really great stylist, you found your gal!

Hello Unilocalers! If I could I would definitely give Maria 10 stars. She is amazing, talented, great listener and very skilled at her craft. I don’t know about you but those are all things I look for in a hairstylist. As ladies, we are very picky about who does our hair and what I really like about Maria is she listens to what you want and makes suggestions based on your hair type, facial structure, what’s in and your personality. She has been doing my hair and my mom’s hair for years my mother drives all the way from San Diego just to get her hair done by Maria. It’s not just Maria but it’s also the environment and the vibe at Ala Mode. I highly recommend her and the salon. See ya soon Maria!
