MAKE ART is an outdoor Art Class series for children ages 2 – 4 years old, which combines everyday recycled materials through expressive art. Every class offers unique, open ended projects that stimulate the imagination and help develop fine motor skills. Children will explore various mediums, including sculpture, painting, watercolors, collage and printmaking.

History

Established in 2010.

After taking an art class with my son, and feeling very rushed and unsatisfied with the way the class was conducted, I decided to take it on myself to create an alternative experience. One that would be positive and empowering to the child, and within a flexible structure that fits each child’s pace. I am a stay at home dad to my son here in Los Angeles, so MAKE ART has become a welcome bridge to enriching his horizons, while bringing together old and new friends. In the past I have taught children art through Puppetry, Children’s Theater, Animation and was also a nanny. I hold a BFA in Illustration from the Art Institute of Boston, and continue to moonlight as a freelance illustrator. MAKE ART has been growing strong since its first class on July 14, 2010.
