LABRIESNOLONGEREXISTS. Its now a place called the complex and the first thing I noticed was an overwhelming smell of BO. No thank you. Talked to the bouncers who were cool and all standing outside. Apparently this isn’t their normal music or normal scene. I guess which night you go really matters.

An interesting dive bar that offers a venue for live bands to perform. The sound in the venue isn’t bad, however this place is pretty small so most likely I would suspect this bar is for up/coming bands. The lighting is very dim in this bar. The drinks were ok, but the prices were quite high given the caliber of the surroundings & in addition to having to pay a cover it seems there would be other places you could venture to find a good time and spend less money. I haven’t tried to perform here so I can’t speak for or against the people that say the owners/managers double book performing acts/bands. This place has good potential for an open mic setup w/no cover to maybe $ 2 cover. Also the drink prices could stand to be revised.

Like this place, I’ve been three times. Good bands, good sounds and the owner/bartender is cool.

LaBrie’s in a great undiscovered gem. My band, Victory Falls, played here the other night and we were blown away with the great sound quality. The guy working the sound board was great. Also, a huge perk was the fact that they had a separate lounge/holding area for all of our gear. I hate the venues where there is no place to hold you stuff. LaBrie’s has a great overall feel. I am excited to come back and play here again! Thank you so much LaBrie’s!!!

Thanks to Jimmy LaBrie, we were able to host an awesome private party/birthday bash this past weekend. We so were amazed at how accommodating and generous he was to us. He let us bring in our own DJ and even our own band… while helping us throughout the whole set-up. This venue was perfect for our casual, large group, reggae vibe party! The bartenders were quick and on top of their game. We could not have been more satisfied with EVERYTHING! Thanks again Jimmy! :)

TERRIBLE place for a band to play. our band booked a show there and promoted for a month. all our friends and family showed up and paid. when we got there we were told that they had double booked the show. when we suggested all the bands just play short sets they laughed at us and told us to come back next week. they refused to admit it was their fault even though we had emails to prove we were booked, and refused to apologize. then, to finish the night, the door guy didn’t tell people that we weren’t playing, so when more people came to the door for us, they just took their money and let them in. we had to go back and insist they refund people’s money on top of telling 20 people to go home. ***One of my band mates recently mailed LaBrie’s a calendar and told them to get their shit together, and they responded by calling another band mate and cussing her out calling her a «bitch» and telling her to «fuck off.» What a pleasant way to do business. Sexist assholes!

LaBrie’s is run by idiots. The owner often double books shows(a fact confirmed by his two employees, who happen to be his brothers) and refuses to apologize or take any responsibility when that happens. This happened to my band and two other bands just last night. If you’re in a band and thinking of booking at LaBrie’s, don’t bother. This is Los Angeles and there are plenty of amazing places to play. Don’t allow this venue to push you around and get away with it. If you’re thinking of coming here to hang out and drink, don’t bother with that, either. The drinks are ridiculously overpriced and there isn’t a parking lot. Good luck finding a spot on the apartment-lined streets surrounding LaBrie’s. I hope Jimmy LaBrie(the owner) learns how to use a calendar before he screws over any more bands.

As a couple of people have noted, LaBrie’s Lounge used to be The Scene. I can’t see that anything has changed about the place. The room looks the same to me. and a pretty good room for music it is. For the size of the room, the stage is big and tall enough. The PA is far above average, and they actually mic the drums. Unbelievable in the ‘10s! The lighting is okay, but not great… a few more bulbs would be welcome. So, yeah, the sound is good, the sight lines are reasonable and the lighting is a step above oil lamps. I got in for free to see Stone Darling, so I can’t complain about the price to get in. They didn’t card me, which makes sense as I’m obviously nowhere in the vicinity of 21(there is no law that says you have to be carded), so that little bit of common sense is quite welcome in a world were it seems to too-often be lacking.

LOVE LaBrie’s lounge! If you are looking for a place to get a great buzz and hang with your friends check this spot out! its local, drinks are reasonable priced, bartenders are NOT stingy with the alcohol and are very friendly. I had a birthday party here and it was an amazing night! The owners and bartenders definitely make sure you have a great time.

The Scene was a good place to see a lot of local bands play. That is both a good and bad thing. On any given night there were 3 – 5 bands playing and sometimes you could hear some remarkable talent and some really artistic stuff. The other 85% of the acts suck, but that is true of any originals live music venue. The Scene did have an above average sound system for a small room. LaBrie’s was bought by a former Scene bartender and he remodeled a bit but it’s still pretty much the same thing. The drinks are good but pricey. The pool is great as is the photo booth. On any random night there will be a band playing and there is a 15% chance they will be really notable. This is in an isolated location, so there is nowhere nearby to barcrawl to. The only late night food nearby is Taco Bell or some Armenian places on Colorado Blvd.

Went to see my friends band play and even the band had to make it clear on stage that whatever the bartender(later found out OWNER) was serving was not Whiskey! When I told him he assured me it was and several other people were complaining as well. The drinks are over priced and a sorry excuse for cocktails. Lastly, I went to pay my tab and the flirty owner gave me the bill $ 23 for a beer and a «jack & coke» not even in Beverly Hills people… anyway he went to refund only $ 5 of that arguing it for a bit and it never actually was put back on my card — LaBrie’s SUCKS.

Had an amazing party at LaBrie’s this weekend. They had a great DJ and wonderful bartenders and staff. Everyone is extremely personable and fun. Before our party we emailed the owner with questions and he got back to us right away and was very observant to our needs. This is a great place to grab a drink, enjoy music or have a great party. We would definetly recommend it in the future! **There is also a photo booth which is too much fun when you are drunk and a seperate room with a pool table**

Not much to really write about this place. I saw my friend’s band perform here and it was a good time. The stage is small, as is the bar, but it made for a more intimate feeling. It’s very dark inside and I couldn’t quite figure out what the décor was supposed to be. They have fairly cheap PBRs if I remember correctly. It’s not worth the trip to Glendale, and I probably wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, but it’s not necessarily a bad place. It just didn’t offer anything special to me.

This place is awesome! I came here to see one of my favorite song writers perform, Tim Barry! I thought the bar had the perfect set up to play shows! The oval bar and S shaped black leather sofas against the walls look classic together, but this place is super comfortable for a lady or guy walking down the street to just pop in and chat it up with the bartenders. Tim the door man is totally awesome. he carded me! Thanks Tim! And Jimmy, one of the guys calling the shots behind the bar is rad! Sit down with him, have a cocktail or a Pabst on draft :), enjoy the people, enjoy the music, shoot some pool, take some photos, and have a f%@*ing great time!

Wow, what can I say about this place? Great prices on drinks and the bands that play here are really good. The bartenders are hot and even the door guy is really friendly. I love this place and I think I’ve found my new watering hole… They have a photo booth which is a nice touch. The sound is good and there is a pool table!

The place is clean and really chill. LaBrie’s was formerly called The Scene(a disgusting excuse for a dive bar). It is now under new ownership had has been given a much needed remodel. There’s a small stage for local bands to play and behind that there’s a pool table. The place could use a little more seating, but all-in-all a great spot to stop with friends if your in the neighborhood. The bartender was cool and very attentive to the patrons. I’ll add that the the girls said he was hot. Drafts are $ 5 — they had Newcastle and Bluemoon. Some bottled beers available too. I ordered a cocktail for $ 9 and it was good too.
