What?! Why is it that whenever I come here they’re closed?! I was really disappointed. Tried calling before going today and they didn’t pick up.

So i went here twice and both experiences were the same. Ok so the service was excellent but the food was just meh. The shaved ice is probably their most famous for being large but like it was whatever. The food was not too good. lol like its chinese express kind of food. I’m most probably not going back cause. The workers are very nice.

DINGDONG! Oh, there’s no bell service to call for waitress! What does it take to get my water refilled here? This place has the worse service ever! They bring your food and check, after flagging them down that’s it! Our waitress was more concerned about wiping down tables then waiting on her current customers. In fact, she wiped down 3 tables three times as we sat waiting for our check. Unilocal has 90% photos of their famous popcorn chicken. Before we sat, we were told they were out of it! Isn’t chicken just chicken and batter? How can they be out? My thought was, this was probably their tactic to sell more of their other menu options and not just the popcorn chicken. The added 2 star was from the food which wasn’t too bad. It’s not good enough for me to come back for sure!

The food here is great, I will recommend popcorn chicken and salmon fried rice. Actually its difficult to find a proper Chinese restaurant near Americana, I am glad we have a guppy house here. The service still has room to improve, I waited my food longer than normal, maybe its because I came in rush hour. Anyway, I hope they can do better next time i come in.

NEVERAGAIN. Waiter told us that this location did not serve the spicy noodle and dumplings. I checked on Unilocal and there was a picture of that order! We asked another server and they did in fact serve that dish. The service was SOSLOW. My boyfriend had to go behind the counter himself and pick up our food! (Only one other table in the entire restaurant and one Togo order!) The layout of this location is so strange. There are ELEVEN TVs crammed into this small location. ELEVEN! Why??? Food is typical guppys But the waiter did tell us the menu is completely different from other guppys. And that they do not serve taro…

This place is ok. I tried the taiwanese shave ice for the first time, I liked the boba and pudding in it. But the flavor was just like maple syrup and ice. I’ve eaten food here a couple times and it’s ok. I had the pork chop lunch special which was cheap, but a little weird. I do like the vibe at guppy house and late night hours.

This is my first time in this location. I am so glad they have a guppy house now that’s so close to my parent’s place. I love, love the shaved ice. The small is good enough for 4 people, easily. They are so generous with their fruits and other toppings. I’ve had the brick toast and chicken at the other location, but have not had it here. I will be back to try their other stuff. What’s nice about this place is that they have lunch specials!

Came here twice in a week. We first came on a Friday night right before closing, hoping they would seat us. But they stop seating people at 11:30pm and closing time is midnight. They still allowed us to order anything as take out, so that was nice. We ordered two drinks and two entrees. I had the passion fruit green tea and my friend had the red bean shake. She liked it so much that we returned the next day and she got the same thing. I came back and I got the red milk tea since everyone raves about it, but it was nothing special and the grass jelly I chose to add in. was mushy and disgusting. It made the drink taste weird. But, aside from all that I ordered the hawaiian shrimp as my entrée and my friend had the popcorn chicken with rice. My hawaiian shrimp smelled really good. It came with shrimp, bell peppers, pineapples, rice, and corn. Honestly, there were only about 4 pieces of shrimp, I was disappointed. The sauce was overwhelming and overly powerful. I could only handle so much of it. The portion size was perfect, but the sauce was too much and not enough shrimp. My friend’s on the other hand, had a HUGE amount of popcorn chicken, but it wasn’t bad either. I mean, overall I would return just to try the other things because I’ve heard many good things about Guppy, but in terms of certain orders. I know what I would order next time and what to stay away form. The employees are really nice too.

I absolutely love coming here! It’s my favorite especially in the summer season. The staff is very friendly, but I feel like they are understaffed and are forced to run around constantly to serve the people. The popcorn chicken and the boba are amazing. The shaved ice is great with strawberry and boba. I usually have the mango as well with it but I have had better. The fact that they give you your own bottle of condensed milk is the cherry on top of a wonderful day. You can ask for more ice when you have shaved ice!

It’s just located across the beautiful Americana, from outside you can never image the inside is such a wonderful place and the food here is Amazing. Guppy house was rewarded as the Best Taiwanese Food of Southern California. I ordered the must have popcorn chicken and salmon fried rice, their were yummy and service was great. The most wonderful thing is they have liquor, fish bowls, my friends and I ordered blue lagoon and orange sunset. I guess the fishbowls were getting us «high» over there, we all stayed longer than normal. becareful the fishbowl size is larger than you imaged. Fishbowl。 I absolutely will come back again for their smoothies and shaved ice, especially in hot summer season. 下次来要点guppy的刨冰啦,如果你没有试过的话一定要试试,你会觉得“惊艳“的。

Came in, group was seated at a booth, ordered, and then waited FOREVER for first waters, and then drinks alone(we didn’t order food). Had a green milk tea with boba — boba was soft; green milk tea tasted a little odd to me; the drink was good, but the service was not. Suggested parking: Galleria parking near the in-n-out(can then cut through) which is free.

I came here with my family for lunch. We ordered popcorn chicken, fried pork chop, and pineapple fried rice. The popcorn chicken portion was huge and we filled up a lot on that alone. The popcorn chicken was decent, but nothing special. The fried pork chop was OK. The pineapple fried rice was basic as well. Guppy House is one of my favorite restaurants, but this location isn’t noteworthy. It’s decent, but I prefer the Guppy House in Cerritos.

I only put five because of Joseph. He is an awesome server, and he was really sympathetic of the customer’s needs and expectations. The service was slower than most restaurants, but most restaurants have more than one server. Their food is good and the environment is awesome. Don’t judge this place on the ratings, and give it a chance because it really is a unique and wonderful experience. If there is someone to blame for the slow service, it would be the management. The employees are hard working and very understanding to their customers’ concerns. They only have one server for the entire restaurant, and Im sure it’s very stressful for the employees trying to cater to so many people. So screw the ratings and come here; give it a chance people! P. s.: try Oreo mocha with boba, and the minced pork stew with egg.

As I’m sitting at a booth in this not so busy restaurant, I’m wondering why people are leaving such terrible reviews? Maybe it’s taken a little time for Guppy to figure out their logistics, but my experience has been stellar. I came in at 9:15pm on a Tuesday and I was promptly greeted and seated. The staff here has been so great, I think much better than what I’ve encountered at the Cerritos location. I ordered a beef stew noodle soup, happy hour priced edamame, and a jasmine milk tea w boba. The soup was great, it really hit the spot on a gloomy day in LA. The edamame was served cold, which was unusual to me, but not terrible-just different. The girls who served me were so nice, they brought me samples of two different drinks I was torn between! I like the vibe here. The spacious, open atmosphere coupled with a great throwback jams mix takes me to a nostalgically happy place. I can’t wait to bring my friends here during the summer to pig out on shaved ice-and not have to drive 50 extra miles! #nomsohard

This is a great place for Asian Fusion food. The restaurant is pretty big and long with a bunch of TV’s placed along the walls showing sports and TV shows. The food was good but the desserts are even better. The shaved ice are served in big portions and can be shared with 2 or 3 people. I was little disappointed with the service. It took 15 minutes just to get our ice tea and water and we had to ask a second time.

I don’t think I would have ever known to come here and even notice it if a friend never pointed it out! This place is very close to where I live so on a Saturday morning I walked here. They open at 11:30am and I was probably the first customer of the day! It was empty, and there must be 5 televisions on with different channels. This place is huge with trendy decorations on it. This place is definitely for students to hang out with friends or do homework. I thought it was diary nice and very new with lots of seating. I decided to order take out and this is what I ordered: WATERMELONSMOOTHIE — $ 4.50 w/Lychee Jelly +$ 0.50 I’m so happy I chose watermelon because it definitely hit the spot! This smoothie was made with all real watermelon fruit! It was sweet(not too sweet) watermelon smooth slush that was refreshing. The lychee jellies was placed on the bottom where you’d have to stir a little to spread them out. The cups aren’t sealed on the top like Taiwanese boba places so no shaking! Haha. The lychee was lovely – soft, chewy, and sweet with the lychee flavor! Great combination with the watermelon. SWEET&SOURPOPCORNCHICKEN — $ 5.99 This is a good sharing portion of deep fried and seasoned chicken pieces with sweet and sour sauce poured on top and some more on the side. The popcorn chicken itself is tasty and salty – GOOD! The sauce however, was a but over bearing. Turns out there was more sauce that oozed to the bottom of the popcorn pile so the crispy chicken would be soaked in it. I didn’t like that. I honestly think I would enjoy this more without the sauce or at least as a dipping sauce. So my suggestion is to order this with the sauce on the side. The staff was super attentive and friendly. I’ll definitely keep this place in mind as a hangout place with friends. Too bad the latest it opens til is 12:30am on a weekend. Glendale needs a place that opens late that isn’t a bar! :P

My husband was craving some«just noodles» at Guppy House, since he’s had it before at the Irvine and Cerritos locations. We randomly discovered that Glendale has a Guppy House now, so it’s perfect! Close to the 5&134 fwy and located right on the busy street of Brand Blvd. We stepped in and the restaurant was huge! Kinda empty around lunch time on a Friday, but worked out for us since we could get our food in a timely manner. :) Ordered the following items: (1) Minced pork belly stew with rice — delicious! it’s basically pork belly chunks stewed in some great tasting broth. :) It comes with a marinated egg. I think it tastes better than the minced pork over rice dish at Irvine, haha. My meal comes with a bowl of fried rice. (2) Popcorn chicken with a side of noodles — my husband ordered this entrée and enjoyed the noodles! it’s his favorite — where it’s just noodles in broth. :) YES!!! the popcorn chicken comes in a separate bowl and tastes just as good too. Your entrees all come with some small dishes — potato salad, cucumber, daikon, corn, and kimchee. 2 sauces for the popcorn chicken. We’re a fan of Guppy House here and look fwd to coming back! btw, you can get free parking at the parking structure nearby on Maryland Street(first 90 minutes are free).

When I heard there was a Guppy’s at Glendale, I wanted to try it right away. I was so disappointed. Yes the place was nice and roomy, but the food was alright. Maybe it’s because I will always compare it to the one in cerritos. The SERVICEISTERRIBLE. I went with some friends and we ordered the usual. Hawaiian fried rice– was good. Was lacking the pineapple. We only got four small pieces. What we thought was pineapple were small chunks of egg. Popcorn chicken– it was good but I wish they put more. They served us large bites on top and really small pebble ones in the bottom. Gyoza– big sizes but the flavor was bland. I had to use a lot of hot sauce. Almond milk tea– didn’t taste the same. It actually just tasted like almond milk with ice. ***** NOWTHEREASONWHYITGOT A 2 star****** Service is terrible!!! They barely ask if we needed anything and there wasn’t one specific waitress/waiter. There were just random people we had flag down to ask for stuff. The almond milk tea I order tasted ehhhh so I asked if I can switch it to a thai tea. They were nice and agreed to it, but the thai tea they gave me was even worst. Half of the thing was just froth. I couldn’t even give it to my kids. This place has potential if they train their staff to be better. Might come back for take out, but no more dining in for me.

This Guppy House has soo much to improve on before its grand opening in January(guesstimate provided by our waiter). The first thing you’ll notice is the large fish tank set into the glass wall by the main entrance. It looks cool and sets the theme of the restaurant, but my friend and I quickly noticed a dead fish in the tank :(Obviously this was probably out of the hands of any of the staff, but when I mentioned it to the hostess, she didn’t have much of a reaction at all. Hmm. This confusing attitude set the tone of the service for the evening, as all the employees seemed to be uncomfortable in their positions and were clearly inexperienced. I understand that it’s a new restaurant and I hope that all the employees get comfortable with their roles– and soon! Service seemed a bit unprofessional and frazzled. For example, I ordered popcorn chicken and a Thai milk tea, but my tea came so late into the meal that I had actually forgotten I’d ordered it. Also, my friend ordered a shaved ice to-go towards the end of the meal, but it came served in a bowl with silverware rather than as a to-go order. Our waiter was hard to get ahold of throughout the meal, so our request to change it to a to-go cup was delayed. The popcorn chicken itself was not crispy at all and the breading seemed oddly soggy(?)… However, the portion was generous and flavor was okay. Note: the ‘spicy’ offering isn’t very spicy at all. One star added for the open/spacious floor plan and so many mounted flat-screen TVs, it was hard to decide what to keep an eye on. The ambiance of the space lends the potential for this Guppy House to be a popular local destination, so here’s to hoping that the kinks in service smooth themselves out.
