Foxfire Apartments

I have lived here for going on two years now, the only reason I haven’t moved is because the process of moving is such a hassle, and my credit isn’t the greatest. These apartments are way overpriced for how old they are, and the amenities that they offer. Don’t rent here, the water is always getting shut off, and they only give you a half a day notice when they’re going to do it. Maintenance is there 24 hours, but when you try to get a hold of somebody during non-​business hours the phone just hangs up on you, also the hot water will go from extremely hot to extremely cold when you’re in the shower, and I’ve complained about the issue with nothing resolved. You can find a cheaper apartment in the same area for probably the same type of service you get here but at a cheaper rate!

I’m curious if they still have bedbugs.
Lived here from 2008 – 2010, it was apparent that the whole building had an infestation. 4 different apartments down the hall before mine all had issues, really bad. I never did, until one day I almost squished one just chillen’ on the elevator button… Then I find a dead one in my sink, and that was enough for me to know I needed to get out. They refused to do a whole building fumagation, bombed mine once, nevertheless. Who wants too live with that? I had already watched 4 of my neighbors throw away all of their shit.
I had some trouble, but finally broke my lease due to Colorado’s habitability clause. They weren’t going to give me my deposit back, but ultimately they had no choice… I rented with them for three years, paid my rent on time if not early, and that’s how they decided to handle the situation. Honestly, I miss somethings… The location is relatively central, the studios are big for Denver, and for as dirty/​moldy as it typically was, the pool year-​around is nice. Oh, and the secure «entrance» nice, but then outside the door the rest of Glendale is catching up. Don’t be fooled by the police station across the street… Ya know, if they remodeled and didn’t act like such cheap B’s, I’m sure Glendale’s progression would move a bit faster than a ruby stadium, and a strip club mayor…

Bad electrical don’t

Years at this apartment: 2011 — 2013
So i have now been here 1.5 years. There is both good and bad however that bad now outweighs the good.
Pros
–The maintenance lady who cleans the interior of the building is amazing and does a great job.
–Location is awesome.
Cons
–Regular maintenance has some issues with reliability. My freezer door magnet is failing and whenever you close the refrigerator and freezer opens. I told them this over 1 month ago and twice they have ordered the wrong part, not that the wrong part. I am still waiting.
–Outside maintenance sucks! Cigaret butts pile up for months (yes plural, as in 2 or more) next to the entrance way in the rocks. They are very irregular in picking up trash, etc.
–Safety!!! This is a big issue here. 1. The doors hydrolic piston that closes the door is broken often leaving the doors open and unlocked. It typically takes days for this to get fixed and unless i go complain to the office nothing gets done. 2. Twice i have had things stolen from the premises. The first time it was a classic vespa. Someone came in with a pickup. 2 guys put it in the back and stole it. Than today i had my Trek mountain bike stolen, someone had cut the lock off it at the bike rack. I have repeatedly asked that they get security cameras but was blown off again today when i requested it. That didn’t stop them from buying a new metal gazebo. Last but not least a couple of weeks ago i saw a guy pissing on the side of the building at 5 p.m. I told the office and they didn’t even bother with any attempt to do something to prevent it from happening again. In addition the pool door from the club house is locked so children can’t accidentally fall in. However last week they were in the process of moving plants into the pool area they had the door opened for over 1 hour without anyone there and a kid (maybe 3) ran out of the club house and almost into the pool. This was simply laziness of not bothering to lock the door when they were not going to be there.
Update!
So when my lease came up for renewal they wanted to raise my rent by $ 110 A MONTH. One month left and i am gone. They give me no upgrades, updates, or anything and my apartment has been continually occupied for 10 years.

Okay, I don’t live here but my brother has for over a year now. He hasn’t had many issues with the place and for a single person, the place isn’t all that bad. But, it’s not all that great, either.
They have a small pool, hot tub, small clubhouse area (which is more like a big basement but it works) with a pool table, another game table, small kitchen, books/​magazines and so on; they also have a small gym facility with some treadmills and other equipment — about the size of a large master bedroom, but again, it works.
The negative? The apartments are overpriced. There are much nicer places that aren’t too far away from this complex and they charge less. That being said, I believe a large part of what you pay for here is the convenience. There is stuff everywhere — employment, entertainment, food, stores and shops galore and most of it is within walking distance.
The other negative? My brother hasn’t had any problems really except … Recently, water came raining down from their bathroom ceiling. I think someone’s shower above them must have had some issues. But, maintenance jumped on it and got it all cleaned and resolved, so they seem efficient there — just not a positive to have it raining inside your bathroom.
Although its nothing fabulous, it’s a decent place for the single or a couple without children. The price is somewhat higher than average but again, it’s likely for the immense amount of nearby conveniences.
