Esthetician: I stayed at the Hilton in Glendale the night before. Pretty nice hotel I would recommend! Now, the testing sight is small so that really helped with my nerves! For the written just bring your car keys, ID, and admission letter. The computer room is cold so I’d say bring a little sweater. My written was scheduled for 10:15 and I walked in at 9:30 and they let me in immediately so I was done with the written sooner than I thought! Park in the parking garage! The $ 7 is worth it the man that works down there is very sweet you don’t need to feel weird about leaving your kit, purse or phone in the car, he’s always down there its a small garage! The practical exam rooms are small and my proctor was very nice. If you have family members with you just tell them to stay in the car or go to the local Starbucks, its best not to bring family into the facility. Overall I had a good experience there! And good luck to anyone testing soon!

Parking lot next door, so no worries about that. building was nothing fancy, but easy to find. everyone was very nice and helpful.

ESTHETICIAN: I’m not sure what everyone was scared about (referring to all the BS that previous testers complained about). With my encounter, the staff was very sweet. My examiner was soft spoken, kind and thorough (even though I had a full on anxiety attack the last 15 minutes of my practical exam).
But, I had to take 1 star due to the EXTREME HEAT in the practical testing room. That was INSANELY HOT or FREEZING cold. I was by the window and I was melting. I think I left a little bit of myself in a puddle where I tested.
My tips: Tip the garage guy. Don’t be an idiot. Leave all your belongings in the car. Don’t annoy the staff-​leave friends/​family at home. Stick to your first answer. Bring water (and possibly a Xanax)
For Theory: Bring your car key, testing letter, ID, and sealed white envelope (if instructed to do so)
You’ll have until 12:40 to kill time. I suggest getting your kit at California Supreme Kit (see my review).
For the Practical: Bring your kit, water bottle (if you need to), testing letter, ID, and sealed white envelope (if instructed to do so).
They’ll let you go to your car after the Practical before they give you your results.
I wore black jeans, Vans, a grey V-​neck T shirt, and a black sweater. Everyone else was in white scrubs, but no one looked at me sideways. I observed ladies in leggings and a white lab coat. And I passed. Mission Accomplished!
