Singly one of the worst restaurants for food I have ever been in. Bowl of chili was cold. Cheeseburger had a cold piece of American slapped on. The«homemade» 62 chips were harder than a rock and — need I say? — very stale. Smoke lingered heavily in the non-smoking section. The very nice older waitress was cool but not cool enough to make the food taste edible. NEVER be back to this one.

True to form. The BEST breakfast I’ve had in forever. A whole slice of country ham with eggs and taters cooked just as I ordered. I WILL be back!

A good Mom-n-Pop restaurant /truck stop. With plenty of parking out back and overflow across the street, their dirt parking lot has seen its share of big rigs over the years. Covered gasoline pumps out front and open-air diesel pumps off to the side. They do not offer valet service. You pump it — you park it. Enough about their outside — let’s look at the inside … they have an adequate convenience store, specializing in items often found to be missing on big rigs at the last minute. Engine oil by the gallon, fuel additives, log books and such can be found here. Restrooms that are maintained, but hardly new, can be found in the store area. What about the restaurant? You will find home style cookin! They have a good variety of traditional American meals, with daily specials that work well with the season. Seating is available. Yes, they have counter service, tables and booths. For groups, tables are easily put together to accommodate. I will be honest about the booths — the seat padding is past its prime. Way past. True to the trucker’s style decades ago, each booth still has the wall mount where telephones hung, waiting to allow calls to dispatch or the broker about the load at hand. Kind of like the telephone booths of yesteryear, cell phones have diminished the need for table-side telephones and all that is left are the wall mounts. Always a good breakfast here. During my recent visit in the late morning hours of a Saturday morning, I decided to break out of my standard breakfast routine and try a German favorite that’s popular in Cincinnati — the Goetta Breakfast. Let me tell you, boys and girls, Goetta is nothing like when your Mom would put Brussels Sprouts on your plate and teach you about portion control, «Just eat that little bit and if you don’t like it, you don’t have to have seconds.» No, rather, Goetta is a delightful mixture of oatmeal and sausage, cooked to perfection, begging you to take a bite, or two,(ok, it was actually 3) and then hide that spot with your toast before you take a picture of the meal and upload it. Paired with a couple chicken eggs and some home fried potatoes, topped off with whole wheat toast, this meal worked well for me. It was so good, I might even look up the Goetta recipe and try it at home. Great service from friendly restaurant staff. My latest visit was no exception. My waitress was engaging, offered a nice description of my meal selection, and stopped by from time to time to check up on me. I’m glad I left a nice tip. Or rather, I gladly left a nice tip. Either way, I’m sure the staff was glad too. A slight detractor — smoking is allowed throughout the restaurant. Yes, they have ashtrays for those who smoke. :-( Oh, and my waitress refused to bring a beer to me with my meal. Actually, I have never been served alcohol here. Maybe they don’t have a license to serve.

Great stop just off the highway. Food is great, friendly staff. Comfortable and relaxed. Mostly locals and truckers. Prices are low.
