Brand spanking new large salon in the Woodmore Shopping Center(it’s right across Wegmans and next to T-Mobile). It’s clean with nice nail stations and pedicure stations and bright and well-ventilated. I decided to try it out one afternoon for a gel/shellac manicure. I have gotten them done 4 times before, so I knew what to expect(or so I thought). My manicure was done by a young lady with a horrible attitude. I didn’t want to prejudge, so I let her continue with the service but I should have trusted by instincts and either asked for a different tech or passed on the service altogether. She did the entire process in about 15 minutes. She was SOROUGH with my nails and nailbeds and I kept telling her to stop and she called me controlling(?!). I know how shellac is done. I’ve had it done before. I know I can be anal-retentive, but I relax when I’m getting my nails done. However things change when I think they are undergoing unnecessary trauma! She even changed my nail shape — NOONE ever does that without asking in all my years of getting manicures — they ALWAYS ask you how you like your nails shaped. She just kept doing it and I kept saying stop! «I know you want to see what I’m doing but you need to let me do my job.» HUH?! I blinked and she was done. Everyone else around me is getting a hand/arm massage and I get a squirt of cheap lotion and an obnoxious«Go wash your hands». So nice, no? So I wash my hands, looking at my nails and hands as I do so. SHECOMESOVER to the wash bowl and stands one foot away from me and watches me wash my hands. Glares at me while I inspect my nails and manicure. I am disgusted by the process and her. She glares at me and I glare at her back. She continues to give me the same fake smile. Awful. I’m fuming. I think about complaining, but I quickly remember I have Unilocal AND I can take my money elsewhere(even to a different tech on a day that she’s working –that’s always fun…) In the end she gave me her card for«next time»(is she kidding?!). I did not tip her and she was aware(your tech rings you up). Please avoid her — she is condescending and rude and fast and does not like her job Shellac $ 35 as of this writing
