Not the best Kosher deli I have been too, but better than a handful of them. I enjoyed their pastrami, but it was a little dry, the Russian dressing was great thought so it helped with the dry meat. The matzah ball soup was excellent, but overall the prices were a little steep.

Just so so. Nothing really special, but their product is ok. Half sour pickles were bland, and coleslaw was just ok. For the prices they charge, there isn’t great value to this place. Service was good and friendly. Very kosher as they wouldn’t allow any dairy products inside as we had a 2 year old child in our party and she could not consume her yogurt drink there.

Love this place. If your a Jew or not this is a must see attraction in NJ! The staff is very friendly. The pickle bar is great. They have a very nice restaurant. Please stop by and enjoy some kosher food.

Excellent soups of all varieties, good waitress with a polite sense of humor, tasty pickles, health salads, coleslaw, pickled green tomatoes plus old fashioned potato salad. Toss out the mustard, delicious, well seasoned pastrami(try it with their homemade Russian dressing slathered on or on the side.) It’s actually an old fashioned lower east side deli but without the tolls; oh yeh, the French fries are crisp and crunchy you’ll love em.

Good corn beef and pastrami — a rarity in New Jersey. A plus is a great salad bar. Dining room could use an update — but it a kosher deli, a dying bread.

Very traditional Jewish deli and restaurant. I ordered a Reuben and being the non-Jew that I am, I figured it would have swiss cheese on it. Nope. Apparently Jews can’t eat meat and cheese together? That really sucks, but what are ya gonna do about it. The waitress was pretty rude to me when I was trying to have a pleasant conversation with her. She snapped at me and said something and walked away. It’s pretty overpriced for a Jewish place too. I think you’re paying for that Kosher certification. The Reuben was actually quite good, but I ended up paying like 15 bucks for it. And it was nothing like a Katz Reuben(which is another Jewish deli that actuslly uses meat and cheese together).

My favorite Bergen county joint closed(Nosher Rye) and I was looking for a good alternative. Found this place. Menu was ok — pickle bar with health salad, cole slaw, potato salad — help yourself — it’s all«free» I ordered the corned beef — lean and 1 potato knish. While waiting I picked up a few things at this pickle bar. 2 pickles and a heap of slaw. Pickles were good. Slaw — eh not so much. A whole lotto mayo and relish mixed with it — not my style. Corned beef sandwich was eh. Lean as I asked but not very flavorful. Knish was like stiff potato looking glue in a baked shell. Again not much flavor. Can’t say this place is a good replacement for Nosher Rye. Looks like Hobbys in Newark will be in my future.

Avi Friede is the real deal. I’ve never worked with a caterer who was so warm and accommodating. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. We bought wine and booze but Avi set up and ran the bar. Omelet station? No problem! Blintzes? No problem. I highly recommend these caterers for any event. You can’t go wrong.

Ok — I read all the reviews to make sure that it’s not just me and I had an off day somehow. I went there for lunch this past Friday April 24, 2015. I have been eating here for 35 years. That doesn’t however mean that I like to feel like I am getting screwed. I think after Petaks went to hell, they just figured here with no competition, they could do whatever they want. And, they do. When my rare roast beef sandwich came, the RARE part of it was that there was hardly any meat. I looked at the waitress who was kind and said — is that the size of the sandwiches here normally these days? She said, «it depends who makes the sandwiches.» The two gentleman who got the next 2 sandwiches got decently impressive sized sandwiches, especially for the price. I didn’t even mind the one potato pancake at whatever overpriced it was, I expected that already. The waitress said«next time, I promise to mention it to them so you get a decent size sandwich.» She was as kind as kind could be. But, there will be no next time. Only a fool would get screwed and then plan on next time. Sad. Someone commented that its a lot of people in their 70s and 80s who are used to it, so they just show up, very few younger people. I believe there is something to that, but how I wish it was worth the rip off price. Can’t recommend this place anymore. There was a place in Teaneck that I heard was very good — anyone know the name?

Corned beef extravaganza! So stinking good– it literally almost melted! I can only vouch for their corned beef but for that alone I will be back again!

Not worth the price. Pastrami was lower than deli quality. Place is run down and so is the service. Can’t really recommend this place.

Love the pickle bar, and the pastrami sandwich I had was very good! Not particularly spicy, nor was it overly salty, but was nice and tender. Hot noodle pudding was a nice ending to the meal. A really good deli!

Awesome Corned Beef! I’ve been a fan for well over a decade. They serve up some of the finest, tenderest Corned Beef and Pastrami that rivals Katz Deli in NYC! Great Pickle Bar too!

Yummiest pastrami in rye sandwiches & chicken noodle soup!!! Be sure to get the noodles separate from the broth so that it doesn’t get too soft! Have tried other foods here but always come back for these two eats! Staff is super friendly too! :) Check it out!

The wife finally brought me here. It’s been a classic destination of her family since she was growing up. She’s built it up a fair bit over the years, but I have to say it was pretty good. Corned beef was thin cut, lean but not too-lean. Plus they have the pickle bar with all-you-can eat pickles(old & new), potato salad, cole slaw, and some other yummy sides. The service was surly, but in a charming sort of way, with a wink: Waitress: «How’s everything going here? Need anything?» Us: «Oh, we’re good.» Waitress: «I’ll tell you when you’re good.» If you think the service is rude, I think you’re just not in on the joke.

I have been eating in the Kosher Nosh for years. Over 35 of them. The food is consistantly good, the service attentive, atmosphere eh and the prices ridiculous. A quart of chicken soup with a few matza balls is $ 15. Some of their combination sandwiches are well into the $ 20s. My father ordered a $ 13 turkey burger on a plate. On a positive note, the pickle bar is awesome and free. The funny thing is that if you order a hot dog and don’t take it to go, the price is much higher because of your ability to load up on free cold slaw and pickles. Anyway, I enjoy the Kosher Nosh and have for years but if they were not in my neighborhood, I doubt I would go out of my way to eat there.
