In terms of product selection and price, TSG carries products from over 15 different vendors in the fly

fishing category alone. Prices are competitive with both the chain stores and the independents, and patrons recognize the added value of superior product knowledge and experience, along with a superior level of customer service both before and after the sale. There is not a shop in the entire tri-​state

area that can boast 100+ years of fly fishing and fly tying knowledge and experience on-​hand at the

shop 100% of the time.

Established in 1974.

The Sporting Gentleman (TSG) is an independently-​owned retail establishment located in Media, a

suburb of Philadelphia, PA. Barry Staats established The Sporting Gentleman, Inc. in 1974, and it has remained a family-​owned business ever since.

Christine has worked in the family business in various capacities since the age of 12, learning the business from the ground up. She has been the sole manager of the shop since 2003.
