Situated in the heart of Glen Ellen, the historic «Hotel Chauvet» was a favorite of world renowned author Jack London.

With access to all Sonoma/​Napa Valley wineries, restaurants, etc., this is truly a one of a kind vacation or weekend experience.

History

Established in 2007.

Listed on the national historic registrar, the «Hotel Chauvet» was converted into six (6) condominiums, each expertly appointed and furnished. With detached single car garage facilities, and outdoor pool area, this is an oasis in the heart of the town of Glen Ellen, California. Operating as a vacation rental business, the property caters to weekend visitors, weddings, couple getaways, corporate retreats, etc., and has partnered with many of the Sonoma County wineries, and restaurants for an inspirational experience.

A group of 10 of us stayed in 2 units for a little mom’s getaway a couple of years ago. We all LOVED our visit to The Chauvet. Beautiful units, top notch service, perfectly located… truly a memorable visit!
Just went online to see if I could book another stay and learned that effective 11⁄2014 they no longer offer short term vacation rentals.
Thanks for the memories guys! We’ll miss you!

This place is AMAZING!!! We stayed here for my wedding on September 29, 2012 with the bridal party, some friends and family. We rented the whole building for the weekend from thursday to sunday. First day on thursday we planned a welcome wine and cheese in the pool area for all the guests, it was great. Christine helped me out set everything up and also got me a free tasting at a great family owned local winery for my bridesmaids and me. The guys would stay at the pool all day. There is also some tasting places within walking distance and a farmers market with a GREAT sandwich selection right across the street. The place is beautiful. You have to check the pics in the website to get a better idea. I tried explaining my friends about the place we were gonna stayed but it wasn’t until we got there that they understood how amazing it was. We had so much fun all together for the weekend. There is a bar 50 yards away, we went there every night including after party after the wedding day. Everybody said great things about the place and their stay. I think it is perfect for families, group of friends, weddings, all ages would love the place and have a great time. I wish I could move in to one of those apartments!!!
The only negative I can think of it was there was no cellphone signal inside the building, but there are landlines and wifi in each apt.

The Chauvet was outstanding! I had a spectacular time there! The unit was superb: exposed brick, giant dining room table, awesome kitchen, 2 lovely bathrooms, relaxing living room and great bed rooms. It was designed so that privacy is possible as well as group fun, like eating meals. The pool was divine and we did not hear one other person while we were there although the rooms were occupied. So restful!
It is in walking distance to nice restaurants and the grocery store across the street is amazing. It looks small but has a great selection of food.
Christine is amazing! She described everything about the unit as well as the surrounding area, nearly every brochure and coupon and recommended an amazing wine tour. Local chocolates and a bottle of wine were waiting for us when we arrived.
It is a fantastic spot! I cannot wait to return to the area and to stay there! I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Great time! Our vacation was even better than expected w such a great home base. Walking distance to Benzinger (though no sidewalks so not the safest) and Jack London State Park. Perfect to take both sets of grandparents to help watch the baby while we took turns exploring the fabulous sonoma wineries. I was a fan of the welcome basket w fresh chocolate truffles! (which I later found the store and had to buy a few more) and the B&B tasting card for free tastings for most of the wineries in the area. Perfect vaca. Thanks, Chauvet.

If i could i would give this place 10 stars! The Chauvet is fantastic! I stayed here about a month ago and I’m dying to go back. The rentals were very spacious and made you feel like you were in a ny high class loft. The pool is great cause, it has a BBQ that you can use while lounging by the pool. This is the place to go to relax, with oversized luxury bathtubs and multiple head shower. My boyfriend took 4 showers in a 24 shower (thanks for getting him clean). Christine was so helpful giving u ideas of where to eat and wineries to go to. I want to go back!!!

Had the pleasure of staying at this great place last year on our trip to the wine country. My husband and I had the master bedroom with the most amazing bathroom and a tub built for two. There is only 6 rooms here but they are all like a huge fully equipped apartment. The kitchen was to die for and we cooked in each night with amazing ingredients from the cool market across the street. when we arrived there was wine and chocolate waiting for us and the chocolates were sooo good, they came from a local chocolate shop and our friends we traveled with were thoughtful enough to send us a box for Christmas last year yummy. lots of tasting coupons were in the room as well as yogurt granola juice and some fresh fruit, the owner was kind enough to bring us a fresh melon one morning just out of the blue. This place had three bedrooms and could fit a large group or family very comfortably. A real gem and we would definitely come back again.
