To preface: I’ve worked at two different Subways. For years I worked at the Subway in Sea Cliff before they changed managers, and also one up in Albany, so I know how Subway sandwiches should be made, etc. So I decided to order a sandwich for lunch so I could pick it up and go back to work to eat it. I knew it was coming up on their lunch rush, as I called at around noon, but I thought it wouldn’t be too bad. So I call up and this woman answers. She was very brusque and it was difficult to hear her. I give her my order and she seemingly is only repeating certain words that I said. After telling her my complete order, I asked if she could repeat the order for me. There was silence, and then she hung up. I was a little annoyed. I understood it was a busy time for them but the least she could have done was repeat the order to make sure she got everything right, you know? So I get there, wait a bit, and then mention that I had called in an order. A woman realizes and she has the sandwich right there, so I pay for it and leave to get back to work. I probably SHOULD have checked it in the store but it was just so busy I didn’t want to be a nuisance, you know? So I get back to work, and lo’ and behold, my sandwich was wrong. So this was my order: Foot long italian herb and cheese bread, egg, ham, turkey, bacon, provolone cheese, toasted with lettuce, spinach, banana peppers, black pepper, oregano, chipotle dressing and ketchup. They forgot the ham, cheese, black pepper, and oregano. Maybe to you guys it isn’t a big deal, but it certainly was to me. The lack of respect they had for taking my order really bothered me. I’ll probably go there again, because I like that store more than the Sea Cliff one, but I’m DEFINITELY not ordering over the phone anymore.

The taste was actually better than most other subways. But my problem was the service. I asked for the two dollar meatball sub(there’s an offer) and the middle aged Indian lady acted like she was doing me a favor. I asked for extra olives and she’s like this is only 2 dollars and kept giving me a very disrespectful attitude when I was only saying please and thank you. So I can take it with tomatoes onions cucumbers and a bunch of other stuff, but not an extra two olives(I only added olives and lettuce btw)? You can choose not to participate in an offer, but not get pissed and treat a costumer like a d*** for ordering it. And this is why I’m never going again. But I must admit the meatball sub was better than most of the other restaurants(I went to like 5 this month), and the service the worst I’ve encountered in 2 years in New York.

A very good subway. Every time I’m on break since I work on stop and shop I usually go to this subway and buy food from their. The staff knows me so they are very friendly and nice always making conversation. The place is clean and great. Great food. I’m satisfied.

I know its ONLY subway… but when I am genuinely greeted with a friendly hello and a smile, it really makes a difference. The people who work here are so nice, service is fast, and I am always receiving coupons either in the mail or behind my receipts at stop & shop. The guy ringing me up helped me use the coupon that would save me the most $$. aaaand, the guy also put ½ of my sandwich to go so It was all nice and wrapped up for lunch the next day. The place was also extremely clean… no crumbs on the tables and the floors were being mopped while I was there. I got the Italian BMT with turkey instead of ham, with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, provolone cheese melted on the honey oat bread, with a little bit of sweet onion dressing. DELISH! 10 bucks for dinner for 2, 1 bag of chips, 1 big drink PLUSlunch the day. score.

I’ve been to a lot of Subway restaurants but I have to say that this one is the best I’ve been to! The staff is excellent! I have to say they are friendly, efficient, quick and the food is always fresh. The owner Wilson, is very hands on and makes a point to speak to his customers and make sure they are satisfied with the service. I would recommend this restaurant over any of the other local Subways in the Glen Cove area! Way to go!

Not all Subways are equal. I like the one on Forest Avenue in Glen Cove. I think their staff make a big difference. Also giving a Subway Restaurant five stars in a review is a paradox so I took one away to start. I have never supported Subway restaurants in the past but since my doctor recently banned me from all fast foods I thought I’d give it a try again. It is possible to order accordingly to lower your calorie and fat intake. Store # 46726 in the Stop’N’Shop mini mall has become one of my favorite lunchtime and breakfast haunts when I don’t know where else to go or if I am in a rush. I like their coffee and the staff is very friendly and attentive. I think it has new management and staff since last year and although the previous owner did a nice job this staff is even better. Very clean and very efficient. They aren’t that busy most hours but do have their lunch hour rushes. I notice customers get anxious and angry at the staff and even leave because there is a short line and I think that is rude on our part as customers. I laugh at this but feel bad for the management. They do have more than one person behind the counter and do get to everyone promptly. It does take time to make things our way and I for one appreciate that and can display some patience. I do have to comment that I feel the quantity of meats or salads used to make a 12″ hero are underweight even for a dieter. The Subway ‘chain’ seems to get away with this but as a combo meal 12″ hero with chips and drink exceeds my ‘cheapo value alert’ limit of $ 10 for a lunch it makes you wonder what you are really getting for your money. If I want a thin sandwich I could go to The Bagel Café down the block! Adding more salad or meat or cheese at $ 0.75 an item goes even farther over-budget for what I think it is all worth. I can’t really blame the owner or staff for that but I like a NY style hero — not just a lettuce sandwich. This is the major limitation of the Subway franchise concept in my book. The $ 3.00 breakfast special with white egg and bacon and cheese on a 6″ flat-bread is a great value. I wish my appetite would be satisfied with their 6″ hero specials for $ 5 but I suspect even kids and Ballerinas often order the 12″ hero. I do have one other gripe about all Subways including this one. They don’t leave fresh milk out for the coffee bar and make you ask for it every time. Please! Fresh milk for our coffee!
